Thursday 07th of July 2011 /
I bought a used Nexus One on eBay.It is Rooted and runs very good.I know nothing about a Rooted phone but understood that I would have to install updates myself. The apps I have installed update automatically. The OS will not.It has Android version 2.2 installed. Now and then the phone does try and automatically up date itself to a new OS but always fails. During the auto OS update I get the following screen messages: Build: RA-Nexus-V1.7.0Finding update package...Opening update package...Verifying update package...E: No signature (8 files)E: Verification failedInstallation aborted I've gone to several Nexus One on-line forms and learned how to manually up date to the latest Android OS version.Trying several times (each time downloading a fresh install file) I always get the same results - Installation aborted. Here's the screen messages I get while trying to do a manual update. Install: Install from SD card...Finding update package...Opening update package...Verifying update package...E: No signature (226 files)E: Verification failedInstallation aborted Can anyone me o

Looking for a Generic Android OS manual

Thursday 24th of March 2011 /
I have a Pandigital Novel 7" Color Reader (Canadian ver running OS 1.5)I now have a Coby Kyros MID7015A OS 2.1 - Rooted & with Google & Market installed.I have noticed that both OS levels are generically the same in function. The Manual I received with each device focused only on that devices abilities as sold by the vendor and I believe you are not given half of what is available. I have been looking for a generic manual that describes all of the Android functionality such as taking back-ups (total OS /Data) as well as the new command sets as the OS matured to the present 2.3. What commands are available when using a terminal emulator etc.I know the new one is 3.X but I have heard that it is a much higher level than the 2.X series. There are all kinds of manuals for Windows, Mac's, Unix-Linux etc but I can't seem to find anything on Android. I am not a developer and I am not interested in a technical manual on Hacking. I would just like a general overview of what each new OS level brings to the table and the common interfaces used to achieve the standard functions. I am

Android OS - having high data usage

Wednesday 23rd of May 2012 /
I recently purchased the One XL and the device is great but I noticed its using an insane amount of data in certain applications with just minutes of use, I was in my Faceback app and did a manual refresh, looked at a few posts, went back to my "Usage" section and I've used near 2mbs in just under a minute. So I tested the YouTube app, played a video (turned OFF HD). The video was only 3 minutes, went back to my Usage, the youtube app itself didn't go up much at all, but the "Android OS" category went from maybe a few kb to 16mbs, becoming my highest used item as far as data is concerned on the list. Something is going wrong, at this rate I'll gobble thru my alloted data in no time, I've went thru a few other forums and saw people wth similar issues with different devices on different carriers. I've turned off the "bankup data" setting as well, still using an insane amount of data in a short amount of time. Any suggestions?

Android OS manual

Thursday 30th of September 2010 /
I just got a new Verizon Android by LG and it came with no manual.I mean there was something, but it was so basic, that it was practically useless.I kind of learned how to move around things and how to make it work, so now I have some concept how to work with my phone. However, there are some things I cannot figure out. Is there a manual how to navigate and customize the appearance of the OS?For now I have two simple questions:1. There is a system bar with some icons on the top of the home screen. On the left there are three icons: (a) one red with a white person in it, (b) one with a sheet of bent paper going into something, and (c) one I don't get and which came up right now - red phone handle and a white arrow bouncing of it. And the last one is puzzling me, because it just came up.Is there a manual that explains all that? Another thing - I am getting beeps every once a while, telling me that something is happening. I look - sometimes it's a missed call, sometimes a notification on Facebook, sometimes a new message, and sometimes it is something I have no clue where to find it.I r

Install Stock Android 4.4.2 XXU1ANAI KitKat on Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 T320

Monday 24th of February 2014 /
Samsung released the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, a powerful Android device that is running on Android 4.4 Kitat OS. Anyway, even though the tablet had just been made available, Samsung already pushed out a new OTA update, dubbed as XXU1ANAI. The firmware brings Android 4.4.2 OS to the Tab Pro 8.4 and should be installed especially if you want to receive the latest stability improvements. Now, by using this step by step guide you can learn how to manually flash XXU1ANAI Android official update on your Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 model number T320.As you might now, the OTA releases are being pushed out in phases or gradually. That means that not all the Android users will receive the firmware at the same time, while some might not receive it at all. In that matter, a manual update method is more than recommended. Also, a manual update procedure can be used each time you need to go back to stock Android OS – you can do that for unbricking your phone, for restoring it to factory or default restrictions, or for regaining the lost warranty, so this tutorial should be bookmarked just in case.Anywa
