Apps keep running after killing them? help
Tuesday 06th of April 2010
Ok im sure you guys answer this all the time but i am a noob to the droid and am asking for your wisdom here lol.I switched from and HTC touch where you have to kill the programs after your done or it will slow it way down and waste battery. So i get the adv task killer app on my droid (version 2.1) and start using it HOWEVER shortly after closing certain apps they just restart! Some of them i never use like corporate calendar and voice search and others.Do i need to shut these down to conserve speed/battery or are these just dormant apps that arent currently affecting anything, again thanks sooo much.
Apps keep on restarting constantly after killing them ...
Tuesday 28th of February 2012
Hi all,I recently got myself a SGS2 and I've been fiddling around with getting a longer battery life. Tried a few things and now I'm playing with advanced task killer. I'm left with a few questions though ...Every time I check the list of running apps (in ATK) I notice apps running such as : Gallery, FM radio, Google search, and even the market. Why would the Gallery or radio app need to be running ? It doesn't make sense ... Even more weird is that when I kill them and they are gone from the list, they keep on restarting and upon opening the ATK list again, they are back ... Anyone know why that is ? I mean, automatically killing these things after they keep restarting time and time again will use mare battery than just leaving them ... Why would apps such as radio, gallery and so on keep restarting after killing them ? Can anyone clarify this android behavior to me ? Thanks in advance,Lex

Apps still running after killing them WTF
Monday 30th of August 2010
I just installed Froyo tonight and reinstalled my apps and use Advanced Task Killer free and when I kill my apps it seems as though I always have some running or they will start running without me doing anything. Ex: I have News and Weather, Slacker, Voice search, and Skype mobile running and when I click on KILL selected apps It leaves Voice search running. If I click Kill again Slacker, News and weather and voice search are running. Why are these apps running when I'm not actually running them? Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi, I just got my first android device (myTouch4G) 3 days ago!! I love it since the last "smartphone" i had was some sh**ty samsung windows 6.1 mobile phone. that aside, I've been having some problems with apps constantly showing up on my task killer. I have my mail/messages/clock/alarm clock on all the time and as I just leave my phone alone, I notice apps like pandora, yahoo messenger/email, qik video chat, dock panel, my account constantly turning back on...am I doing something wrong here? any help would be great. Thanks!
Problems with Google apps/accounts on Droid X after deodexing with xUltimate
Wednesday 27th of April 2011
I've got a Droid X(stock Froyo 2.2.1) phone that, after being deodexed using xUltimate, suddenly has problems running Google apps. I don't get any options for adding Google accounts; the Market app crashes immediately after launch; the phone keeps asking me on reboot to accept Google's location services, etc.. I've successfully deodexed a Droid X phone before and didn't get these problems.Looking at the logcat output for the Market app crash, I found this:Quote:

Problems with apps residing on SD card after unmounting USB storage
Saturday 11th of October 2014
I have recently purchased an InFocus M512 phone. It runs KitKat (4.4.2).I have loaded a few apps into the SD card (moved them to SD card after installation). When I connect a USB Flash disk everything works as expected. When I subsequently unmount it (via settings -> storage -> unmount shared storage) I get the following message:Unmount SD card? If you unmount the SD card, some apps may be unavailable until you remount the SD card. When I accept it the USB storage is indeed unmounted (when I physically remove the USB Flash disk it I receive the notification that it was removed, as opposed to a notification that it was removed unexpectedly). The SD card seems to remain mounted - in particular I can access the files in it (via the stock file manager), however I cannot run any apps that I have moved to the SD card - when I press the app shortcut nothing happens. The only way to resolve this is to restart the phone. If I remove the USB Flash disk without unmounting it, then I get the notification that it was removed unexpectedly (as expected) and afterwards I can run apps residing on
Why does the camera keep on restarting?
Saturday 03rd of January 2015
Hey folks, So I've had my Note 3 for almost a year now and for the past 6 months I guess I have noticed that whenever I keep on opening the camera app and taps to focus, it restarts itself, even before tapping to focus. I've gone in safe mode and that didn't happen, yet the camera was functioning better and faster. Is there a way that I can know what's causing the problem and if a specific app that is causing this issue without having to uninstall all of them and reinstalling again? I would appreciate your thoughts and advice for this issue, it's quite annoying having to deal with this. Best,Theo
