What Is "Device Memory"?
Tuesday 12th of March 2013
Just ran out of "Device Memory" space on my v1 Note (N7000, Android 4.0.4) . Auto-update of some app or another failed with insufficient space in "Device Memory" - which shows up as having a total space of only 1.97 gigs.I cleaned house by uninstalling every app that I could find that had not been used recently and now it's OK.... But that's only now....System Settings | Storage does, indeed, show Device Memory - along with USB Storage and SD Card.I'm guessing that "SD Card" is the 64-gig class 10 micro SD that I have in there and "USB Storage" (11.07 gigs) is some sort of hard-wired SD card analog. But what is "Device Memory"? More to the point.... Is there any way that I can force Android to install new apps on to the 64-gig micro SD... or even the "SD Card" instead of pigging up that very limited "Device Memory"?Could "Device Memory" be just a partition of the same physical memory that is "USB Storage"? On my 10.1" Note (Jellybean...) I see that there is no distinction between "Devic
Why am i getting "low memory" notification"?
Sunday 11th of November 2012
Hey all, a few weeks ago my Iconia started giving me a low memory notice on the lower right side of my screen. I have un-installed every app I don't use, as well as moving all my pictures to Drop box, and I still get this notice. When I click on it, it shows that I have anywhere between 275mb and 410mb of memory. Am I missing something? I have the 16gb Iconia. I think I have a screen shot from this morning attached.....

Ascend H866c "low memory" error messages
Sunday 23rd of December 2012
Just got this ascend phone (straight talk) the other day, my first smartphone actually. Problem is I keep getting "internal memory low" errors. I moved everything i could to the sd card which has 3.36gb of space left on it but anytime these damn apps try to update I get the error and cant even receive texts. of course they bogged the phone down with google apps, most of which I have no use for. any ideas on a fix for this? I'm sure i need root access to get rid of the apps that were already installed but I have never messed with rooting a phone before. What good is a phone with "access to 600,000 apps" when you cant install anything because theres no RAM

Question Regarding "Miscallaneous Files" and "System Memory"
Thursday 11th of July 2013
Hi guys-First time posting in these forums so if this isn't the right place I apologize.I just rooted my Verizon Galaxy S4 today and am now working on backing up using CWM so I can get a new ROM. However, I noticed under storage that "Miscellaneous files" takes up 6.53 GB-6.38 GB of which is "System memory".I was wondering if someone could tell me if this is normal?I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to this stuff so please forgive my ignorance.
use SDcard as "internal memory"
Saturday 28th of December 2013
Hello all..my Note 8 (3G/wifi) is about 6 months old now.., still loving it.. at 4.2.2 and rooted.but the free storage space is killing me.from 16GB out of factory, only 9.9GB can be used, and currently it's less than 2GB free available yes.., all pictures/movies/songs and documents are already put in the 32GB SDcard. how do you guys handle this internal memory limitaton? I've read the "swap memory" procedure, but can't find the specific step-by-step for N5100 device.I don't want to brick it.., so unless there's a foolproof procedure.. I hesitate to do it. is there any way to trick and use the SDcard as "internal memory" ..?or is there any clean - slim ROM so we can use the most of 16GB internal memory..and then add the SNote apps or other apps as standalone install.. thank you very much!
"Your device doesn't have enough storage space to synch." - Low memory error msg
Wednesday 15th of January 2014
My stock un-rooted Verizon Samsung Note 2 phone went down to a pathetic 271 MB of available internal storage space. As a result, the phone couldn't do even simple things as synching my Gmail email account. There are probably other things the phone can't do as well due to running low on internal storage space. This is the first time I've seen this message. Even a new icon showed up in the top left corner of the screen. It's the white color circular icon in between 2 other icons. That's the icon warning me of low available space. See attached screenshot picture. Am I the first to encounter this problem? Am I the all-time low memory leader? Do I get a prize????
"Insufficient Memory" lie after factory reset
Wednesday 02nd of July 2014
This is now the third time I have had to completely reset my tablet (Trio Stealth G2) due to the message "com. google. gapps has stopped". I did a factory data reset, which always fixes this problem. Recently, the screen cracked and I had it replaced, then did the reset, and got to work attempting to re-install the apps I previously had. I have only installed Google Chrome and a game so far. The game requires download to play, and every time the message "Insufficient Memory" pops up saying I have 0MB of storage available. Storage reads:Total space: 1.94GB Apps: 395MBAvailable: 1.49GB I have no SD card. Since the reset I've changed no settings. There is no music, pictures, videos, or anything like that taking up memory. My attempt to reboot it didn't affect it at all. I just got this tablet at Christmas and it was gone for months while a friend replaced the screen and attempted to find a solution to the "com. google. gapps" issue that wasn't a complete reset, with no success. It just came back two days ago and I am very fed up with these issues and anxiou
"Low memory detected, clearing history"
Friday 01st of August 2014
Ever since I updated some apps on Wednesday (one of them was Chrome) on my Droid Razr Maxx HD, I have been getting this occasional message of "Low memory detected, clearing history". I had never seen this before. I know that I have ample space on both my internal memory and SD card (both are above 10 GB free), so I don't know what's causing this. Google only returns one hit: a Google Play link for some app called Android Cleaner. I do not have this app installed. Does anyone know what the cause could be?
