What is root?/What does being rooted mean?Q: General Android phone FAQ's?A: Here is a thread on general Android Phone FAQ'sQ: How can I improve my battery life? A: Smartphones operate on a sort of spectrum. On one end you could put battery life, on the other end all those options like wifi/3g/sync (among other things). If you want great battery life you can't have those on all the time. If you want those on all the time, you won't get great battery life. It is best to find the compromise that works best for you and what you want most out of your phone. Here are a couple of things that you could consider - adjust the screen brightness, do not use live wallpapers, switch off networks when not

Camera Error - OG Droid rooted SteelDroid 10.2

Wednesday 18th of April 2012 / droidforums.net
I need some help guys, i have an OG Droid, i was previously running Liquid 3.2 last night, loaded Steel Droid 10.2 this morning. I swapped up thinking it would fix my camera problem. when i opened my camera running Liquid, i could usually take 1 or 2 pictures, then it would freeze, and when trying to open the camera again, i get camera error - cannot connect to camera. now, on Steel Droid, i cant even get a picture in, It just takes me directly to Camera error - Cannot connect to camera. I hold this relatively important because i need my camera for work.. Any help is extremely appreciated!

Why isn't text messaging working on a new phone? ZTE Force 4g LTE

Monday 29th of December 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi, I've just bought a ZTE Force phone. I sent one text message on the day it arrived. But since then, whenever I try to text, I get the following error message: "Please insert an SD card to use all features of the app." Do I need to buy an SD card just to text? That seems ridiculous and a massive technological regression. Does anyone know how I can get texting to work without buying an SD card? (My phone's hard drive currently has 1.7GB of 2.4GB free space, so I don't think it can be because I've run out of space on the phone). If anyone has any advice or info, I'd appreciate hearing it. Thanks,- Caleb
