How to: Modify the Galaxy Nexus 3-Pin Car Dock to Work With the LTE Version – Droid Life
Tuesday 05th of June 2012
On Friday, we told you that the Galaxy Nexus car dock that is now available through the Google Play store, actually does work with the LTE version of the phone after you make a slight modification to it. The volume rocker on the LTE variant is slightly bigger than that of the GSM version, so upon initial insertion, it freaks out a bit. However, after a simple scraping of the volume rocker area on the dock to lengthen the volume rocker hole, this thing works perfectly.Below, I have two videos for you to see. The first is a simple overview of the car dock and why it is so much better than the cheap plastic thing that Verizon was selling at launch. The second video is all about the modification and how you can scrape away plastic to make magic happen. And yes, this is as simple as it gets. Oh, and the dock works great with the extended battery.Car Dock Overview:How to:Downloads: Carhome | CardockInstall both of these apps in order to get the car experience with the LTE Nexus.
Car dock doesn't remember my settings
Monday 04th of October 2010
I put a check mark on both calls and audio for connection on the car dock, and checked "remember my settings". But everytime I use the car dock, my calls still go thru the phone speaker and not the car dock. I go to the settings, and the calls is unchecked. So I have to manually check it everytime I dock my phone. Anyone else have this problem?
Official car dock for Nexus One now available
Tuesday 06th of April 2010
If you are a Nexus One owner today just got a little better. According to Android and Me and the Google Nexus One blog, Nexus One owners can now get their much awaited car dock. Taking some cues from the DROID dock that was released during the early days of the DROID, the Nexus One Car dock allows users to dock their phone and take advantage of the Android OS’s Car Home interface and even charging capabilities. Some of the features on the dock include:charges the Nexus One with access to any 12V utility socketuses Bluetooth to allow users to enjoy hands free operationallows use the option of playing music through the speakers in the dock (I wonder how that sounds!)gives user the Car Home interface for easier searching, music playback, and navigation while driverI think that this dock adds a lot of functionality and may even justify the $55 price tag. Sales of the dock went live sometime earlier today and if you just can’t wait to get one follow the link to get your own.Via [Android and Me] Source [Nexus One | News and Updates]

Nexus One Car Dock Allows Camera to Work While Docked
Friday 09th of April 2010
The Google Nexus One Car Dock has been designed so that all the functionality of the phone can be used while it’s docked. The Headset port is available for those of you who want to plug into your car stereo and use the Nexus One for your music. The back is even open so the camera works too. Probably not a good idea to play with it while your driving, but if you really wanted to you could take a video of your trip.I made a short video and took a couple of photos to see how well it would work through the windows of the car. The quality was really good and no real shaking was noticeable.Take a look at the video below:and here’s a couple of photo’s just because I could:So I hope you enjoyed my pointless little video and my wonderful neighborhood. No too much I could think of as an actual use for the camera while your driving unless your trying to spy on the car in front, but it’s fun anyway. What have you done with your Nexus One Car Dock?
Car Dock resetting volume to Maximum?
Wednesday 17th of November 2010
I have a weird issue with the Nexus One Car Dock, where it keeps resetting the volume to maximum. I'm just using the dock to hold and charge the phone, not for audio, as I have a Sony Bluetooth stereo. Everything was working fine for a while, and now every time I try and play music, or even at the start of a new track, the volume goes back to maximum.I wouldn't mind so much, but it's too loud for the stereo and creates distortion. Anyone any bright ideas? I've tried the 'Dock Volume' app but that didn't seem to do anything. Starting to think there isn't a solution, so thought I'd post here in case anyone else has experienced this and found a fix.
Mic not working in car dock or in speaker mode
Tuesday 07th of February 2012
I searched but apparently am not a search expert. When I put my Droid X in the car dock or try to use the speaker function for calls, no body can hear me. I can hear them fine, but the mic is not working. I have used voice activation for a couple things so I know the mic works in other modes. Is there a setting I need to change or something? Thanks.

Thursday 28th of January 2010
I just got an email from Proclips that the charging car dock is ready to ship.ProClip Mounting System*-*Charging Holder with Tilt Swivel and Cigarette Lighter Adapter doesn't have a magnet but I'm guessing that hopefully it's easy to put one on the back. I'm about to order one, but I'm a little bummed about the magnet. I thought this would THE car dock to wait for. Thoughts?I know it's also expensive.
Camera records video upside down when in car dock since update to 4.1.2
Saturday 05th of October 2013
I recently updated my Galaxy Note to 4.1.2 and now when my camera is in the car dock it records upside down. If I unplug the power, it returns to the right way up.If I play the video back, regardless if plugged in or not, it play the right way up. I have the phone set to auto rotate and this works for everything except the video camera when it's in the car dock. It's really annoying as I use the camera to record while driving and now I have to set up the dock so that the cables point out towards the drivers side rather than the passenger. Anyone have any idea why it is doing this? Is there any setting I may have missed that would fix this?It used to auto rotate before I updated... so that is the only thing I can put it down to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
