Android Central Application
Saturday 02nd of November 2013
I was thinking today that I wanted to listen to the Android Central podcast from yesterday; which made me think of a suggestion for the app. I'm sorry if this post is in the wrong category... Anyway, my suggestion is... Wouldn't it be nice to list listen or even watch the podcast through chrome cast? Whether it be live through the application or the recording afterwards. I'm sure it's not nearly as easy as it may seem, but it is just a suggestion. Thanks! Posted via Android Central App
Chromecast - casting from Chrome
Sunday 03rd of November 2013
I have Chromecast up and running through my S4 running Android 4.3. However, I cannot seem to find a way to cast from the Chrome browser on my S4. Swore I had already done this with my S3.Can this not be done? I'm assume I can browse the web on Chrome and cast it to my TV via Chromecast.
Can't cast from mobile devices.
Saturday 07th of December 2013
For some reason, I cannot cast from my iPad or my Samsung Galaxy S3. I can cast from Chrome on my pc. Both devices connect to the same wireless AP. It was working before. The Cast button appears on my ipad when using Hulu or Netflix, but the Chromecast device is not listed. On my Android phone, the button doesn't even appear. Only thing that has changed is that I just recently changed ISP providers from ATT Uverse to Charter. I was using ATT's router, but am now using a Linksys WRTU54G-TM. I've tried resetting the Chromecast device. It shows as connected. Anyone else have this problem?
Casting HTML5 video added to Chrome Beta for Android
Tuesday 04th of March 2014
As more and more apps add casting capability so users can enjoy their apps with Chromecast devices, this latest development may be useful for users needing a more general capability. Google has added the ability to cast YouTube videos from within the Chrome Beta for Android browser without opening the dedicated YouTube app. Testing shows that it kind of works with other HTML5 videos. To turn on the capability in the latest version of the Chrome Beta browser, you will need to open chrome://flags/#enable-cast in the browser to turn it on. Relaunch the browser and head to YouTube to check out a video. Just make sure you don’t launch the standalone YouTube app and you’ll see the cast button included in the video so you can choose where to play the video.Users have been testing the new functionality with other services. Vimeo videos can be casted if played in fullscreen mode. However, DailyMotion videos were not playable. If you want to give this new feature a try, use the download link below to grab the Chrome Beta app or update your version if you already have it. PornHub now supports Chromecast streaming from Android
Friday 23rd of May 2014
Despite Google’s repeated efforts to make sure all of their products are wholesome and free from adult content, it looks like PornHub has somehow figured out how to enable Chromecast streaming directly from Chrome for Android.A couple of months ago, the beta version of Chrome for Android gained an unstable flag for the ability to cast video that was playing in the browser directly to your Chromecast. It’s a cool idea, especially if you want to check out something from a site that doesn’t actively support video flinging, like DailyMotion or Twitch.TV until very recently. If you’ve checked out the unstable flag in the Chrome beta, you’ll quickly learn that it is called unstable for a very good reason and it has remained in beta because of this. It looks like the folks at PornHub aren’t big fans of waiting, however, because the service is now working remarkably well on the mobile version of their site.Choosing to play a video on PornHub through the current stable release of Chrome for Android will reveal a Chromecast icon in the top left hand corner o
Chrome mobile android now has cast tab for some videos (not beta)
Wednesday 04th of June 2014
I'm sure a lot of you already know this, but I just learned this and haven't seen much about this online. The latest update of chrome that happened last week or so added a cast tab to android mobile for some videos. I'm not talking about new chromecast apps, I mean videos that are posted on websites. I'm not talking the beta version, I mean regular chrome. So far I have tried vice.com and and nhl.com and both worked great.. Its funny because I was on vice.com last night on my nexus 7 and was surprised when I saw a cast tab pop up in the corner of the video. I clicked it and it worked, I thought it might have been a video reposted from youtube but now I know why, haha. I'm so happy, I've been waiting for this for a long time. Its funny I finally broke down and downloaded chrome beta earlier today to experiment with it only to find out it was just added to regular chrome, haha. I'm going to experiment with other websites and see what else works. I will post my findings here. Feel free to contribute your findings as well. Its funny, Ive wanted this for a long time but I'm so used to onl
Chrome cast systemui error with Gpad 8.3
Sunday 29th of June 2014
Whenever I try to cast something to my Chromecast I get an android systemui error. The error happens after pulling down the notification bar. It won't go away until I hold down the power button until the Gpad reboots. This started after getting a system update last week. Is anyone else seeing this? When the error happens it also changes the wallpaper. Sent from my LG-V500 using Tapatalk

Monday 13th of April 2015
I have an Android Tablet with 4.4.2 thereon, but have never been able to cast whilst in Google Chrome. Seems very strange that Chromecast will cast many things, Youtube etc. but not an app by same company................... Or am I doing something wrong. Many thanks for any info.
