clean format to kill spice bloatware
Friday 25th of January 2013
I have spice android phone model number mi-280. It has android gingerbread 2.3.6. now spice guys have installed a lot of bloatware. It really sucks that I can’t get ‘em out of my phone. I’ve scoured internet for answers but to no avail. My internal memory has clogged because of this crap. I’ve rooted my phone, made a 2gb partition on my 16 gb microsd card. I’v installed link2sd so that all apps get installed on SD card, it works to some extent but internal memory gets clogged up little bit. For example if I try to install say 9 mb app on my phone, 3 mb will get reduced in internal memory and the rest would be installed via link2sd on my 2gb partition of sd card. I’m fed up now. I want to clean up everything in my android phone. Making it have nothing , nothing. Start from scratch I want to do an installation in my phone. Just like we clean up the harddisk of pc and do a windos reinstall, I wanna do that kind of thing. How can I do it? That must make me get rid of that bloody spice bloatware I hope lol!!
HELP! Soft bricked my phone, nothing works!
Tuesday 02nd of October 2012
Well, it all started a few months ago. And ended.I decided to plug my Android phone into the windows side of my hackintosh, where I installed drivers and LG tool that asked me to pick my phone and update the rom on it. I mistakenly chosen MS670 or something, not realizing that mine was indeed an MS690. Anyways, afterwards my phone was stuck in a boot cycle. A black LG logo, a little Android beside an arrow shooting out of a marketplace shopping bag, the MetroPCS flash screen, and back again. Fast forward to this morning, I decided to unbrick it myself, than send it in. I followed this guide and the guide within it for setting up drivers:Unbrick Phone from LG ScreenAfter several attempts, the progress stops at 45% to tell me to replace flash memory or something. Each and every time. I have also uninstalled completely, then used CCleaner to clean up and fix registry and restarted from the beginning and each and every single time it stops at 45%.I know there can't be something internally wrong with it, I babied the phone! it lived in my desk for months! PLEASE HELP!!!!
Memory taken up by uninstalled/failed apps...
Monday 26th of September 2011
I have a question for my LG Optimus S and no this isn't related to the gingerbread update, but it happened before that and sadly wasn't fixed by the update. This might even be a general android os issue. I am looking for an un-rooted option if possible because i don't want to maintain all my family/friends phones! My issue is that I'm out of memory for apps. I had over 30 mb free and then i tried to install "netflix" but it failed but the memory was never freed up, took me down to like 12 mb. All apps that can be moved to SD card have been so this is only in regards to internal phone memory. I restarted my phone multiple times, cleared all the caches, and even downloaded "maid" programs to clean up ghost apps but even some of those apps left a few mb's taken when i uninstalled them. I've deleted a ton of apps but i'm still barely back above 22 mb. My question, is there a way to free up some of that temp or ghost memory? I'm almost getting ready to do a factory reset and start over. Thanks for your time and help.
Need Nexus 4 compatible external memory for holiday
Friday 16th of August 2013
Hello everyone Android Central Forums!I have a big problem I hope you could solve... In 6 days I'm going on a cruise and I will take a lot of photos with my Nexus 4 and I will probably need a way to backup my photos in an external drive to clean the internal memory. If the Nexus 4 supported USB OTG I would use some pendrives, but since it isn't supported I really don't know what to do... I can't use Google+/Google Drive either since I won't be able to access internet on the ship. Moreover I want to avoid bringing my PC with me, it's just useless during a holiday.I would need some sort of wifi or bluetooth hard drive... Any suggestions? Thank you!
Device Memory was low, rebooted phone, got stuck in splash screen
Sunday 24th of November 2013
I downloaded something that took up all my phone memory, un-installed some things, then rebooted. Then the phone got stuck in the splash screen. So then researched further and found out about holding the three buttons, then pushed the volume up key. Now it's got the green android logo and saying download, do not turn off, it's been at least 20 minutes. I have no idea what to do, be patient, yank the battery? Any advice? If I can get it started again, what's a good way to clean out the phone. Thanks.

Sunday 29th of June 2014
Hie guys, I need some help, I have my Android ver. 2.3.6 Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 rooted phone, I leave it quite a while. It works perfectly when I finished rooted the phone. I connect to internet, etc. But When my sister wanted to use it for couple of months, then she gave it to me, I notice that there is a bunch of apps that Lag the phone. So I've decided to Reset the phone to it's default. Then after I reset it, everything is clean but with one problem, Some apps can be installed and some cannot. I don't know why, I try different techniques to solve the issue but It's just can't. I can install it when I was holding the phone, But when I reset it, Cannot do it anymore. Not all apps cannot be install, But most of my favorite apps are. So anybody can help me? I have no Sim Card, But I have SD CARD, I try to unmount it and install, not working, My Internal Memory is super free of space. So I don't know what should be the problem. :/
Cleaning up memory
Sunday 20th of July 2014
Okay so just out of curiosity what is everyone's habits for cleaning up memory on the Moto X? For example, no matter what memory size you have 16 gig or 32 gig when you go into settings and then storage do you dump your cache and your temporary files and clean up every now and then or just leave it there? I have noticed though that when I cleaned up my cache memory, and then going to my photo gallery it says no external memory available doesn't let me view my photos unless I reboot my phone completely. Kind of weird. Posted via Android Central App
Should I use a memory manager app?
Saturday 30th of August 2014
Hi How good is Android 4.4.2 (Kitkat) on Galaxy Note 3 at memory management? Is there any need to use memory clean up ?e.g. I was using a couple of different memory management apps on my Note 2 (which I lost at the bottom of a canal), e.g. Clean Master Phone Boost? (100million downloads, btw!)ALSO what about things like JuiceDefender for extending battery life? Any views?J
Should I trust Clean Master?
Saturday 13th of September 2014
So its my first android phone (lg g3) and I love it way more then ios. I got this app called clean master. It had 100 million downloads and good reviews, so I trusted it. I noticed it can clean old files and empty folders and things. So I let it do its thing. My phone has more memory and everything is great. However i'm paranoid this app could harm my phone possibly. I also loaded lg's file manager. What I don't understand is how you can just delete any folder. Some which seem crucial to the OS. Wouldn't that ruin the operating system? So is my phone ok? Thanks so much.
