Phone continually asking to connect to wifi
Wednesday 20th of June 2012
I have my phone set to not auto connect to wifi in the settings, and have checked several times to make sure. However, whenever I open the internet or any other app that uses the internet a list of wifi connects pops up asking me to connect, and my only other option is to select "not now, remind me later". Why does this keep popping up if I have "do not auto connect" selected? These same apps never asked to auto connect to wifi on my old droid phone.

Can't connect to wifi
Sunday 18th of March 2012
Sorry for the long post.I have had the HP Touchpad for about a month now and love it. My problem is that I can't connect to wifi and need help. I have the latest webos that seems to connect fine. I loaded cm7 which sometimes got the internet, it seems only if webos wifi was turned off. I upgraded to cm9 alpha 2 by using ACMEInstaller2 without deleting anything and was able to connect to the internet only 1 time. I have tried to forget, start new connection etc. on my home network but get no bars even though it says signal strength is excellent. I also tried these steps with my results in ():1. Boot into WebOS and make sure your wifi connects. Use your browser for a sec and then boot back to CM. (Wifi works on webos not android)2. Delete your wifi profile:start the terminal apptype su and tap enterthe pound sign # turns to a dollar sign $type rm -rf data/misc/wifi && reboot and tap enterFor clarity that's rm(space)-rf(space)/data/misc/wifi(space)&&(space)Reboot your TouchPad.After your TP reboots, you will have to reestablish the SSID and password for every AP you use.
Samsung Galaxy S3 doesn't connect to wifi with strong signal.
Sunday 12th of May 2013
So I've had my Galaxy S3 for about 2 months now and I've never had a problem with connecting to the WiFi. However, today my phone started acting up. My phone can connect to wifi with weak signal strength but when I try to connect it to my router (Cisco) with very strong signal strength, it doesnt work. It says connecting for about 5-10 seconds but after that, it just stops and doesn't connect. I've tried the whole "dialing *#0011#" and forgetting the network but it doesn't help at all. Has anyone else had this problem? Help? Also here's some pictures to show what I mean. My phone just gives up on trying to connect to Cisco.
SGS2 cannot connect to wifi networks with hidden SSID
Saturday 02nd of July 2011
Hello all,Just wondering whether anyone else has noticed or experienced this.I have a samsung galaxy S2 and if I try and connect to a wifi network which has a hidden SSID, putting in all the details manually on the phone of the wifi network, the phone will not connect to the wifi network. If I make my home network broadcast SSID, it will connect to the wifi network. It says connected and it remembers details etc.If I then turn wifi off on my GS2 .... turn my wifi network back to not broadcasting SSID ... and then turn wifi back on on my GS2 ... the phone doesnt find the network again.Surely the phone should:- Connect to wifi networks with hidden SSID's in the first place if all the details are typed in correctly via manual setup- Remember the details of any wifi network it conncted to and reconnect even if the wifi network is not broadcasting SSIDWifi network is running b/g/n with WPA/WPA2 PSK set.

Hi,I haven't been able to get my phone to connect to wifi - any wifi, not just my home wifi - since the middle of August.I don't have any sort of data plan, just the basic texting-and-minutes dealio. This is what happens at the Wifi Settings screen:- It says it's scanning- It tries to auto-connect to my home wifi- It says 'authenticating with (my home wifi)'- After a few seconds it says 'disconnected'- My home wifi in the Wifi Networks section of the screen is listed as 'disabled'.- The process starts all over again. As I said this has been like this since August, but it was never a problem before. I really don't want to buy a new phone, guys!Any help would be great. VM F3 will not connect to WiFi
Saturday 08th of February 2014
My Virgin Mobile Optimus f3 will not connect to WIFI. It tells me the network is available it has plenty of signal strength but WILL NOT connect. I have tried turning on and off WIFI (numerous times), turning the phone on and off, taking out the battery and forgetting and then reconnecting to the network. Nothing will get this phone to connect to the WIFI it is telling me is available. Also, I have a home network as well as XFINITY WiFi, so i should be able to connect to either and cannot connect to ANY. Your help is GREATLY appreciated.
