Consumer Cellular & Moto G

Thursday 02nd of January 2014 /
After not getting anywhere with Consumer Cellular (CC) Support (friendly but not knowledgeable at all about Moto G - 1st stated "it is a locked device"). Tried numerous settings in APN with CC and numerous power off & on and still the Moto G is not connecting to data. WiFi works great to my wifi router. Voice works great and has 4/5 bars. But can't get 3G working. I do turn off Wifi while trying to get 3G data working. Anyone have any knowledge of the correct APN info on the Moto G for data connection to Consumer Cellular? Thanks

Friday 07th of March 2014 /
Consumer Cellular offers the Moto G GSM model starting from $150 even if you’re planning on using it with other carriers such as T-Mobile or AT&T. This is great news for users who want a decent device by paying one of the lowest amounts for a relatively new smartphone.Consumer Cellular doesn’t require you to sign a contract, but they will have you select a plan. You can choose any plan you want and the phone will still cost you $150, as well as you can choose to pay $4 per month in order to get the Phone Protection against spills, drops or hardware failures. Check their website for yourself and see which plan suits you best. The Motorola Moto G packs a 4.5-inch HD IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 1280 x 720 resolution, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU, 8GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, Bluetooth 4.0, 5 MP rear-facing camera with LED flash, 2.3 front-facing camera, Google Now voice recognition, FM Radio, Wi-Fi, GPS, micro US, 2070 mAh non-removable battery and the Android 4.4 KitKat OS.(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});Motorola

problems receiving SMS messages from iMessage users

Wednesday 13th of August 2014 /
Hi all, I am new to these forums. I posted below as a reply to another device specific thread, but decided to start a new thread here in the general forum instead. (Yes, I searched first and didn't find anything quite like this). My family just switched from Verizon to Consumer Cellular (AT&T network) and we all got new phones. All except my wife previously had "dumb" phones on Verizon (she had a Droid Razr MAXX before). We got 3 Moto G LTE models and my wife got a Moto X (all run KitKat).Since the switch, when my daughter receives SMS messages from her BF, who is an iPhone/iMessage user, the messages are broken up into multiple messages when she receives them and a lot of times are coming out of order. She didn't have the problem with her old "dumb" phone.I am not sure if iMessage is breaking the message up, or some gateway between carrers is doing it (he has SimpleMobile for his carrier, a T-Mobile MVNO).My wife also had this happen with some iPhone users on Verizon. In her case, it seems like it was related to the sender using emoji in the messages and or th

RSD Lite Not Recogizing Moto G

Wednesday 03rd of September 2014 /
Long story short, in Canada last week I attempted to unlock my Consumer Cellular (AT&T network) MOTO G so that I could install a Canadian SIM for service there. (I used Android SDK platform tools to unlock the phone.) I was successful at unlocking it, but later during the process, I panicked and managed to soft brick the phone. (I assume it's a bootloop--after about 5 seconds of booting, the screen goes black, I have to shut it down, and the above repeats.)I can get the phone into fastboot, so I've tried to flash the standard Motorola Global GSM rom to the phone, but RSD Lite doesn't detect the device when I connect it to my desktop. Device manager DOES show the device properly attached. The phone has had usb debugging selected, and was detected by SDK when I unlocked it. Now, I can't get either RSD or SDK to recognized the phone. I am running RSD as an administrator.Any help would be appreciated. Ed
