I have a Curtis LT7028 which seems to be a standard "trackball" tablet without camera. Similar tablets are apad 710, c-mid, craig 7, and eglide. The two variants of this type seems to be w or w/o camera. My Curtis came with a horrible software configuration, no Android Market and a youtube video apt that force closed mostly. Today I installed the eglide.img posted by sunigirl on this forum and I am very pleased. I think Ematic eGlide of all the companies importing this tablet picked the right factory for its' software.Update: After spending the summer with the eGlide firmware I decided to try the Alcore E-Pad firmware. It is android 2.2.1 and everything appears to be working great. The links to the stock and rooted images can be found in the Alcore E-Pad thread in this forum.

How to Prepare CMP738A for Factory Reset or Firmware Update
Monday 04th of April 2011
Make ready if you have Rooted the ROM or Stock ROM. Rooted ROM Owners, Firmware Restoration 1. Download the Firmware 2.1 from Craig Electronics here2. Read the how to do it doc here3. Unzip the downloaded archive file. 4. Open the file and drag/drop the update.img to the root directory of your microSD card. One of the ways to achieve this is to mount the microSD card in the powered on tablet to the PC (best results). After the file is finished transferring, safely remove the attached disk drive, and unmount the drive from the PC. 5. With the microSD card into the device, and the device is fully powered on. Upon the tablet remount or insertion of the microSD card, with the update.img file fully transferred, you should now see a popup message saying Firmware 'Updating'6. Select Install7. Make sure AC power is going through it, and let the update run by itself. My Panel was Flawed, but here is what the process looks like. Stock ROM Owners, Factory Reset1. Select Menu2. Select Settings3. Select Privacy4. Select Factory Reset5. Make sure AC power is going through it, and wait until the p
Craig CMP 741e & recording sound
Monday 19th of November 2012
First, the 741e with the capacitance touchscreen is a good cheap tablet that the kids love. The older 738a with the resistance screen was totally useless. So be careful what model you're picking up at that drugstore! Now, one frustration. The microphone works - recorded video has sound. But apps that use the microphone don't pick anything up (e.g. Spelling Space Ultimate). Craig has posted a firmware update: Craig Electronics Inc. but it's not clear that the update is newer than my current version. The firmware update stands a chance of screwing up what is a mostly working tablet. And I'd need to re-load everything I've set up, which could take a few hours.Any advice on getting the microphone to talk to the apps? Advice on go/no-go for the firmware update?

Forgotten Pattern Passcode
Wednesday 28th of August 2013
Hi all, new to the site and Android itself. I recently acquired a Craig CMP741x from my sister who had set a passcode several months back and since forgotten it. I have looked all around the internet and this forum seeking a way to reset this tablet. I have tried hard resetting using every combination of buttons I can think of to no avail. After that, I tried downloading the firmware from Craig for the CMP741, but not the x model, and letting it prompt an update. Since it has me locked to the passcode screen, it doesn't allow me to push the button for updating the firmwar. I am not sure which system it currently has on it, or which I need to try updating to. I have also tried using adb and running commands through cmd set in program-tools from adb. I can't figure out how to tell if debugging is on or not but I'm almost certain that it is set however it came from the factory as my sister doesn't know how to change any of that. I am currently at a loss as to what to try next and am open to suggestions. Thanks for all your help, Caleb.
