Custom OS Warning
Monday 13th of May 2013
Hi,I'm completely new to Android. Finally moved from iPhone But I'm confused by a warning I got the other day. Being the paranoid type I thought I'd check it out.So I turned my phone off to concentrate on the pub, when I turned it back on later, there was some kind of message saying "Installing custom OS can harm your device..." (or something along those blurred lines). And gave an option to "Install" or "Ignore". I clicked install, and the little android alien fella showed up with "Installing...". I had no idea what it was doing so I held the standby button until it went off.The phone seems fine, but I'm wondering what that was and if some kind of software I don't want is on my phone. There was no mention of "Update" etc. Is there any way I can check to see if something dodgy has been installed?Cheers,R

Stuck on Warning!! screen with my Galaxy S4... SOS
Monday 03rd of June 2013
Hi everyone, I am very new to the forum and i made a research for the problem i am facing and i cant get a solution. I have no idea what caused my Galaxy S4 to act like that, but each time i reboot / reset / shut down and reopen phone, i come with the Warning!! massage saying: " A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications. If you want to download a custom OS, press the volume up key, Otherwise, press the volume down key to cancel." I'm pressing the volume down key and sometimes nothing is happening. After 10 mins the phone MIGHT restart but most of the times it doesnt! How will i fix this? My phone is brand new and i never rooted it. I try to remember what applications i installed that might cause the problem and the only ones i downloaded is CoPilot navigation and Adobe Flash player. I thought it might be Adobe Flash player and i uninstalled it but it didnt fix the problem

Help! Warning!! A custom OS can cause critical problems...
Friday 25th of October 2013
I've looked around this forum and others and can't find a solution to my problem. I tried to restart my Samsung Galaxy S4 today and it came up with the: "Warning!! A custom OS can cause critical problems..." screen. I have tried pressing the volume keys as the message describes, and also tried holding down Volume Up/Down, the power button and the home button, which people have suggested would work. This just turns the screen blank, until I let go and the phone vibrates and returns itself to the Warning screen. I have never tried rooting my phone and it had been working fine until today. Anyone got any suggestions or should I get in touch with my insurance/ network/ Samsung?
