"download unsuccessful" only from internet, not market

Dear Community: If ever I try to download a file from the internet on my htc desire s the message comes up after about 1 second of trying to download: 'download unsuccessful'. The only threads I can find on this subject concern problems with downloading apps from the market, but I can download from the market with no problems. I have had the phone since Jan 2012 and for about 6 months it would download from the internet with no problems. I have tried to download various files, e.g. PDFs and podcasts. There is nothing wrong with the websites because I can download from the same sites on my laptop and have tried to download files that I had previously downloaded when it was working but this is now not working. SD card toal space: 7.50G, available space: 2.23GB. Internal storage available space: 0.90G In 'internet settings', it says 'download storage: storage card', but this is greyed out so that I cannot change it. cache size: 6mb, plugins: always on. I have tried unmounting and remounting the SD card, downloading from wifi and mobile network (e.g. 3G), clearing data in download mana
Trouble with Market Re-downloading App

I purchased an App (GDE home), then uninstalled it and received a refund. Now I want to buy the App again, but nothing is working. I am aware the 2nd time is a non-refundable purchase, that's fine. But trying to purchase this App again keeps declining all the cards I try to use, giving me "unsuccessful downloads" and errors when trying to install on my phone. I can still purchase other Apps fine, so I know it's not my cards, but my google checkout account online keeps saying the order is on hold because my cards aren't working either from insufficient funds or fraud protection, but my bank says my cards are fine. And on my phone, it says the app is purchased, but will not let me download. It either gives me unsuccessful download or says "authorizing" forever without ever downloading. I've canceled and reordered the app about 10 times, same thing every time. How can I get around this and re-download this App? Constant "Download Unsuccessful"

Son's Pulse has been downloading apps (both paid and free) okay up till now. Today it's decided that everything we try and download (and that is everything) will just report that it's starting, then "download unsuccessful". Of course, there's no error message, or reason why it's failed. Stock T-Mobile Pulse, no rooting, unlocking or anything. Nothing updated, system-wise, today that would cause it. Have powered down and back on.Have powered down, battery out, back in, back on.Have done above plus removed and replaced SIM.Have cleared market cache.Have cleared cache, powered off and back on.Have logged into Google Talk, back out and back in again. We really don't want to have to hard reset again (already done that trying to solve the "no voice or text connection when using 3G issue") because it means re-setting up the entire phone again - icons, wallpapers, etc, etc, etc. Any suggestions?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i rooted smartphone. I tried to update to the latest firmware update by the default update option in setting menu and it started downloading update file of 26MB. Now during updating it got stuck on 26% and the phone rebooted saying FIRMWARE UPDATE UNSUCCESSFUL.I guess that it may be because my phone is rooted, but then I checked my phone space and found it reduced to 19 MB from 41 MB.So what is taking that much space? Please help me free up some phone space.

I've been having this problem for weeks now and it seems to be getting worse -- I can't install any apps on my Nexus One. I'll update apps both manually as individual apps or through the 'update all' option and it'll start downloading everything, get to the end and finish downloading, then go into "installing ... (whatever app)" then it pops up an error saying, "Installation Unsuccessful." This is happening to all sorts of apps, all different sizes, even Google-created apps including Google Maps and Google Listen. It's rooted with Cyanogen 6. I've dug around the forums and tried these suggestions to no avail:+ Removing apps to clear up space (maybe its a memory problem?) + Moving all possible apps to SD (memory problem?)+ Clearing the download manager cache and rebooting (some fluke/error in the download manager?)+ Clearing about 2 gb on my sd card (again memory clean up?)+ Unmounting and re-mounting the sd card (some fluke/error on the card?)I'm pretty frustrated. Anyone have any other suggestions on how to fix this?

I use my A500 in class. We have WiFi, but when you attempt to log on, you get a sign-in page where you enter your name and phone number. Then you have to download this Bradford Dissolvable Agent file and run it. This is some type of virus protection for the schools network. When ever I try to download it, I always get "Download Unsuccessful" As a result, I cant get on the schools network. I am wondering if there is some setting that is stopping me from downloading. Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciative.

Recently I've had this problem when trying to download themes. It will start to dl but after awhile it says download unsuccessful interrupted cannot be resumed. I tryed locking browser in memory and increasing vm heapsize but nothing works except using wifi. Does anyone know how to fix this?? I love this rom and don't want this to be a deal breaker. Long time listener, first time caller here. I'm having trouble downloading from the market. Whenever I select something and try and start the download, the notification comes up in the status bar that it's downloading then it goes away real quick. When I check the app I'm supposed to be downloading the download bar is either entirely blank or shows the barber shop style lines with download unsuccessful at the bottom.I also tried downloading an .apk from the web with the same result. When I check the download history it says something about the filetype being unsupported. Does anybody have any info on this? I've tried signing out/clearing cache on GTalk, clearing cache and data on market and download manager and rebooting the device to no avail. Next up is a reformat but I don't want to if I don't have to. Any advice is appreciated!EDIT: The market appears to be working for now but I'm still having trouble with most of the web .apks. Was there something in the FRG83D update that blocks "pirated" apps or something?

I wiped out my phone and re rooted it, and when downloading all my apps two of them wont download and/or install rather I get this "install Unsuccessful" then I reboot my phone and got this now about 20 times "Download Unsuccessful" one app I dont care but its doing this to my app I bought called Snap photo ProAnyone Got Ideas?If anyone need ss just ask
tubemate download unsuccessful

I tried many times to download the tubemate but it always come up by download unsuccessful.Heres what happen: after i click the INSTALL APPS, starting download appears at the bottom of my screen and then a downloading sign appears in my notification bar and when you drag down the notification bar it is like loading after a few second it will stop and says DOWNLOAD UNSUCCESSFUL.What should i do to download this??? Please help! Many thanks!
