Dropped Galaxy S3 now screen is black
Wednesday 14th of August 2013
Hey Guys, After an accident in which I fell on the pocket side where my international Galaxy s3 was (never rooted or any other technical mod), the phone was turned off. Now when I turn on the phone it seems to start up, led lights working, buttons work and vibrates quickly when done starting up. However, the screen stays black, also it does not seem to respond to touch either, since I have not been able to unlock the screen (because ledbuttons wont vibrate). As I thought it was the digitizer, I already replaced the screen (whole digitizer) with a brand new one but it did not solve the problem! Does anyone know what is going on with my phone? Thanks in advance, David
Help, broken samsung galaxy s3 dropped in clean water
Sunday 12th of January 2014
About 1 month ago I dropped my s3 in water but immediately took out the battery and dried these with tissue, I was out at the time so had to wait till later that night to put it in rice, I did so for about 3 days and the phone turned on, minus the fact that up the screen at first was flashing and turning pink but eventually worked fine although the unlock button had to be pressed a number of times for the screen to come on, the touch screen and everything was working fine, then I turned the phone off for it to completely dry out to see if the punk lines would fix and now my s3 screen stays black but the phone turns on, the noises from texts are still coming through and I have no idea what to do, the phone is not insured either
Galaxy S3 dropped and now won't fully power on
Saturday 12th of April 2014
I have a used AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 16GB (model SGH-1747) that I bought of the previous owner. I've been using it on Straight Talk's BYOP sim card program since December 2013 when I bought it, it was probably a year or so old already. The phone has always worked great. Then a few days ago I was riding my bike and it fell out of my pocket. It hit on both the upper right hand corner and lower right hand corner of the casing (on the silver trim edge), but thankfully the screen was intact without cracking or scratching. When I got home I realized that the screen wouldn't turn on and I assumed the battery was dead so I switched it with the full battery from our other SG3. When the battery is put in, the phone vibrates, the screen shows the word "Samsung" and then switches to "Samsung Galaxy S3", then it goes black again. No matter how long I hold the power button nothing happens other than to repeat that process. I tried holding the Power button, Volume Up, and Home button at the same time - nothing. I tried again but using Volume DOWN - nothing. I tried holding
Samsung Galaxy S3 Black Screen No Root
Sunday 22nd of June 2014
Hey guys,Quite a while ago a friend of mine dropped my phone , smashing my outer screen. He go it repaired quite a while later, however I dropped it soon after, destroying the lcd and digitzer but leaving no outer damage. I then sent it in for repairs and when it came back to me it was fine at first but then the screen went full purple. Strangely enough later when I decided to charge it I left it there and came back to it working again. Then two days later I pushed my screen harder than usual with one thumb( not hard at all but above average) and then slowly the screen went black. Now when I boot it up it shows nothing other than a black screen, not the black like it would be off but with a slight gray tone, producing light. The touchscreen is functional, the LED lights and the vibrating works but the menu and back key don't light up on touch. I don't recall exposing it to water. Thanks in advance
Galaxy s3 i9300 screen not coming on but power comes on after dropped
Saturday 26th of July 2014
Yes, Ive had my galaxy only 3 months when the plug to charge the phone became faulty, then eventually stopped charging the phone altogether. I took it into a local cell phone repair shop. They were unable to fix the issue & when I picked the phone up, out in the parking lot, I dropped it in one of those, " made it worst trying not to drop it" ways. Anyhow, the phone will power on now but the screen remains black except when it first powers on, for a split second the samsung galaxy s111 logo flashes on. I can tell the power is on because the menu and back buttons light up and the blue light on top lights up. U can also hear the Virgin mobile power up sound and the phone vibrates briefly when u turn the power on. I had given up on trying to fix the issue, but what troubles me is that if the screen flashes anything what so ever, then that pretty much rules out the first assumption that I broke the lcd right? Any adviced please?
Galaxy S3 Screen Keeps Going Black
Sunday 07th of September 2014
Today when I went to pick up my phone, I found that the screen wouldn't turn on. I was pressing the home key and the two buttons were lighting up but nothing else worked. I just figured it was frozen so I took the battery out and turned it back on. This time the notification light was changing colors (as it normally does when you turn it on) but nothing was working on the screen. I waited a moment and I tried swiping the screen when I thought my lock screen had came up (the screen is still black at this point) and it vibrated like it normally does when i unlock the screen. I've tried several times taking the battery out and replacing it and after about the 6th try my phone booted up normally but after about 15 minutes the screen goes black again I'd like to add that I'm not usually a person to drop my phone often ( maybe once a month) but it was dropped in the toilet about 2 months ago, but i bought a treatment kit for it and its worked fine until now. I always have my phone in my back pocket also (I don't know if any of these could've contributed to this, I just want to know what's
