Tuesday 14th of February 2012
To Whom it May Concern,I accidentally dropped my Android phone. Since then the screen has been black, though, after restarting it, I discovered that I still can get sound. What is to be done? Do I need to consult a repair person? Thank you for your help.Already Tried: Plugging in the phone; opening up the case and pulling out then putting the battery pack back in; restarting the phone.
Screen Going Black When Making/Receiving Call/Camera No Longer Working
Sunday 04th of November 2012
using HTC Google Nexus One, Android 2.3.4This is very strange, but I noticed today that my camera is no longer working. I have no idea why, but it just goes black when I select camera. I have restarted my phone, took out the battery, etc. and nothing. Also, I even tried downloading other camera apps, and they won't work either.Even more frustrating, though, is that my phone goes black when I make or receive a call. The calls do not get dropped, but when the call is over, I can't even hang up, as my screen is black. It's weird because my phone is still "ON," but I obviously can't do anything. The only thing I can do is take out the battery, put it back in, and turn the phone back on. Then, it works perfectly normal...until I make or receive another call. I have no idea what to do.Can anyone help? I'd really appreciate it, as I use my phone for everything!

Horror! I dropped my GN2. Screen is black
Friday 11th of January 2013
Help! The worst nightmare has happened. I dropped my note 2 face down. First it wouldn't show anything on the screen when I press the home button or power button. Then after a while it worked. After a few hours it won't again. But the notification light is blinking blue. I pulled out the battery and put it back. It booted up but it says insert sim card. I did remove-reinsert battery again and now it's stuck on the Samsung logo. Whenever I remove-reinsert the battery, it would just go straight to turning on, without pressing the power button. I was able to enter twrp recovery and did a backup before it's too late. I don't know if I did the right thing backing up though. I'm on the twrp menu and I don't know what to do next. :-( Sent from my Nexus 4 (because my note 2 is being rescued) using Android Central Forums

Stuck on 'Android' Screen; No Power Button
Monday 23rd of April 2012
Hey all, just hit a snag with my device. My Optimus V has randomly decided to not boot past the 'Android' screen that follows the Virgin splash screen. It will stay one the screen for a good 5 minutes and then turn black. But the power is still on because the physical buttons stay illuminated. I also have no power button, i dropped my phone recently and lost the use of that. I just do the "jump-start" method of plugging in and unplugging at the LG screen. I am rooted, but with the stock rom and nothing else. I've been doing research but can't come across anything solid, so please help, thanks!!

Saturday 06th of April 2013
i dropped my phone in water yesterday and as soon as i did it i pulled the phone out, i quickly just got told to use the hair dryer after taking the back off and taking the batery out, after thinking that the phone was dry because i have never been it that situation before i put my batery in and turned my phone back on, and i was amazed that everything worked okay.. i tryed to take a picture with the back camera and it was abit misty at first but then quickly disapeared but the front camera was still clouded. about an hour later i realised what looked like water running really slowly down my screen, starting at the top which made the picture go like a blue colour and then just turned dark, the out side of the screen went black first the the middle of the screen did the same. it took about a couple of hours for the screen to turn completly black . i then turned my phone off took the batery, sim card, memory card out then took the back off the phone so you could see the inside of the phone, then put it in rice and put it in the airing cupboard.. left it over night and then tryed again b
S2 with broken (black) screen - MHL cable possible?
Friday 06th of September 2013
Hi, I've dropped my S2 and the LCD inside broke (not a scratch on the outer glass!).It still turns on, sound and the menu-buttons work, but the screen stays black. As a replacement screen is somewhat expensive, i was wondering if it is possible to connect it to a TV using a MHL cable. Is it necessary to confirm anything on the mobile when connecting the cable, or is it just plug and play - big screen when you plug it in? Without a display, it is difficult to determine if the touch function still works. I used a pattern screen lock, Android version 2.3.6 should be installed (rooted) Thanks for any help!

Dropped My Note 2 & screen is now blacked out!
Friday 24th of January 2014
I dropped my Note 2 the other day, battery this way, back cover that way (yes I panicked).....I took a deep breath, gathered the pieces (to my surprise the screen was not cracked)& put back together. I powered it back on and to my surprise everything worked like before. Went to sleep later that night, & woke up in the middle of the night, went to check the time on my phone & it was blacked out! I was able to the light around the edges of the screen, which helped me know what screen I was on...then it eventually went totally black. Do I need to replace the LCD being though the screen itself is fine? Please Help!!! Posted via Android Central App
