Flashing TouchWiz ROMs with safestrap

Thursday 20th of March 2014 / androidforums.com
I am rooted on 4.3 on Galaxy S3 with saferoot. Coming from my thread on XDA Developers, we could flash TouchWiz ROMs using safestrap. Has anyone does this? Could someone please guide me through the process step by step? Or if not than could someone either please provide a tutorial and/or a YouTube video? Please see my thread: Is there a way to remove the Knox bootloader? - xda-developersThank you! My choice would be CleanROM, and, yes, its a TouchWiz ROM.

First Ever Flashable Stock Rooted Kit Kat 4.4.2 For The Verizon Galaxy S5!

Thursday 26th of June 2014 / droidforums.net
Now that we have both root and SafeStrap for the Verizon Galaxy S5 it is time to start flashing roms! BeansTown106 does not even have the device on hand, in fact he is not even on the Verizon network anymore but he has already released the first ever flashable stock rooted kit kat 4.4.2 rom for the Verizon Galaxy S5. Speedy release as always! This is a stock build of Touchwiz for the Galaxy S5 but does include a few custom features such as the fact that it is prerooted with busybox installed, knox has been removed, tethering provision checks have been removed, verizon ota updater has been removed, 200mb of useless verizon how to videos have been removed to free up space, read/write to external storage has been enabled, Android Run Time is working, and Private Mode is working. If you would like to see the Alliance rom ported over to the Verizon Galaxy S5 you might want to consider throwing a buck or two in the direction of BeansTown106 so that he can get a device in hand to get things going. SafeStrap Is Finally Here For The Verizon Galaxy S5! Thanks To @Hashcode0f

Thursday 26th of June 2014 / droidforums.net
The Verizon Galaxy S5 has been rooted now for only a week and developer "Hashcode0f" has already delivered on SafeStrap! In case you don't know SafeStrap enables Locked Bootloader devices to use a custom recovery for flashing custom roms and other mods! The way this work is it bypasses the bootloader altogether and leaves the stock system alone! Large changes only happen on what is treated as a "2nd system". Traditionally you would need to unlock your phone's bootloader in order to flash a custom recovery and then flash roms. Safestrap eliminates this need. However since we do not have access to the kernel there is no way that we can run AOSP roms like Cyanogen Mod or Paranoid Android, but we are able to run any TouchWiz based rom that we like! Installation is pretty simple on the Verizon Galaxy S5. You will need to be rooted. This can be achieved with the TowelRoot method. Visit Towelroot.com to get rooted. Once rooted you will need to grab "BusyBoxInstaller" by Jrummy on the PlayStore. If you are currently rooted and using Xposed Framework you will ne

LTE connection messed up, best options?

Tuesday 23rd of December 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hey everybody,i'm in a situation and not sure of what to do. I have the S5 and its been rooted and has safe-strap recovery since August. Everything was fine no issues with flashing TW Roms of any sort, about 3 days ago i was flashing a AOSP type rom and i noticed that i no longer have lte, just 3G. I tried everything that i could (used odin to go back to stock firmware, and put my sim card in my old htc m7 and that phone gets LTE). currently my only option i can think of is to go to verizon and get a replacement S5, i would love to avoid this though because this AOSP type rom is completely different from touchwiz, it's almost like a full google play edition. As of now i believe that there is no current way to root and get safestrap recovery on the nk2 update that came out recently, i could be wrong. Hopefully someone can shine some light here and any feedback is appreciated
