Fresh Galaxy Note 8.0 photos emerge showing S Pen, software
Friday 25th of January 2013
Just a day after we got our first look at the Galaxy Note 8.0 in leaked spy shots, a couple more photos of the 8-inch tablet have emerged online. Today's pics come via French Android community Frandroid, showing apparently the Note 8.0 alongside its 5.5-inch sibling, the Galaxy Note 2. As with yesterday's images, we see a tablet with a curved design and a phone-style three-button setup on the bottom bezel instead of traditional on-screen keys. And this time around we get to see the larger "S Pen" stylus, which was docked away in yesterday's images.Yes, there's also an earpiece up top for making calls, as we saw in yesterday's shots. But that's nothing new -- 7-inch Samsung tablets have been doing that since the original 2010 Galaxy Tab.Today's pics reveal a little more about the device's software. Unsurprisingly, the Note 8.0 is running Samsung's TouchWizUI, but it also seems to be using a "phone-style" launcher, similar to the direction taken with the stock tablet launcher in Android 4.2 -- which this device is rumored to be r

[MWC 2013] Samsung Makes The Galaxy Note 8.0 Official Before MWC: Coming In The Second Quarter, No Price Available
Saturday 23rd of February 2013
We've seen it leaked a few times, but Samsung has beaten the Mobile World Congress rush and officially unveiled the Galaxy Note 8.0. The device is basically a super-sized version of the Note 2 smartphone, right down to the physical home button (a first for Samsung's post-Android 3.0 tablets), call capability, and vertical orientation. The screen is an 8-inch 1280x800 panel, and it's unfortunately a TFT LCD - I had been hoping that they would make it Super AMOLED, and create a spiritual successor to the sadly underutilized Galaxy Tab 7.7. Naturally, you get the S-Pen and all of Samsung's custom TouchWiz applications on top of Android 4.1.2. Underneath the hood you get a beefy 1.6Ghz Exynos A9 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of storage, and an open MicroSD card slot. The rear camera is a serviceable 5 megapixels, with a typical 1.3MP front shooter. The 4600mAh battery should provide plenty of runtime. The smartphone-style hardware has proven divisive - the thing looks like someone took a rolling pin to the later generation of Galaxy smartphones. Samsung isn't saying exactl
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 to Sport LTE and Android Jelly Bean, Coming at MWC 2013
Monday 11th of February 2013
As a response to Apple’s iPad Mini, Samsung is going to launch a brand new tablet Called Galaxy Note 8.0.There a some images featuring the tablet, so we know how it looks like, but the company has not specified when and where it will going ti be launched. Nevertheless, if we take a look at what the Bluetooth SIG is saying, Samsung will probably release it on the European market, along with the Galaxy Tab 3 Plus P8200 (a tablet which is rumored to come with a 10.2-inch screen with a pixel resolution of 2560 x 1600).Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 8.0 will be available in three different variants namely the GT-N5100 (which comes equipped with Wi-Fi and 3G), the GT-N5110 (Wi-Fi only0, and the GT-N5105 (this one has Wi-Fi + 3G + LTE). All of the mentioned versions are going to be released in Europe. However, the company is expected to launch it on other markets, such as North America and Asia. As for its release date, I’m thinking that Samsung will announce this very month in Barcelona, at the Mobile World Congress. It’s not official yet, but the Galaxy Note 8.0 will p
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 hands-on
Saturday 23rd of February 2013
It’s day minus-one of Mobile World Congress 2013, and we already have the first major device announcement from Samsung. Variously leaked and rumored over the past couple of months, the Galaxy Note 8.0 is official today, and we’ve had the chance to go hands-on with the mid-sized, stylus-toting tablet in Barcelona. At first glance, the Note 8.0 is a surreal device to behold, looking a lot like a supersized Galaxy Note 2. The basic Samsung design language holds over from the company's 2012 smartphones, meaning we’re dealing with a curvy, shiny, plasticky device. A first for a Samsung tablet, the Note 8.0 includes physical buttons as opposed to the more common on-screen kind, and from a branding perspective. Samsung clearly wants consumers to identify the Note 8.0 as a companion device to the S3 and Note 2. So you should know what to expect if you’ve handled either of those products -- the Note 8.0 is unashamedly light and shiny, and something of a fingerprint magnet. That said, it’s not at all creaky, nor does it feel fragile.Spec-wise, we’re deal

Galaxy note 8.0 touch screen issues?
Thursday 29th of August 2013
I've had this tablet for about 3 weeks now and ive been experiencing this strange problem. About every 5 minutes, the screen becomes completely unresponsive for 3 to 6 seconds. Its happemed twice while writing this up to now, so its getting worse. After two weeks, I contacted samsung for some help, and they told me to do a factory data reset, meaning I lost everything I already put on my tablet, and it would most likely fix it because there was some sort of "glitch " in the device. I did this and it hasn't fixed the problem. They also told me that if it didn't work, to call a number to get it replaced. However, after doing some research, I found out its not only my device that does this, but others to. I heard of a guy who got his replaced and it did the same thing as the last one. So is this a problem with all devices or just a portion of them? Has anyone else experiences this? Is this a software issue in all devices that could be fixed in an update? I had anathor problem that does not happen to frequently, but is still strange. When I use the spen for prolonged periods of
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (US 16gb model): Screen does NOT auto shut off most of the time!!
Saturday 09th of November 2013
Dear All: I'm baffled! My brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 does not seem to auto shut off its screen most of the time! I noticed that it would dim very significantly, but that the screen isn't "off", just very very dimly lit. I checked all the suspected areas of setting where I might have missed something, or, somehow, it was inadvertently set incorrectly (very unlikely as this is only 3 days old!). Nothing. May I ask please for any suggestions, advice? I'm hoping that it's a simple "aha!" type thing that I did not figure out myself, but something in me worry that this might be a deeper problem. Thank you in advance.

My Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 got some issues with its charging. Some times it will charge the battery up too 100% and some times it just wont charge at all.The battery's drainage is just normal i think and no over heating at all. My brother got a Note 2 and we both are using the same charger and USB cable (stock usb cable)and its working fine with his Note 2... But when it comes to my Note 8.0 it just wont charge some times and it will take days before it will work on my Note 8.0 again. Whats your take on this guys? Here is the charger we are using, the one that comes with the Note 8.0
Note 8.0 touch screen not responding
Tuesday 16th of December 2014
So I replaced the digitizer on a Samsing Galaxy 8.0 tablet and now its not responding when I touch it. It works fine with the S-pen but not responding at all to my finger. I tried another part and it does the same thing. It sometimes works but when i put it back together it stops. I'm going to try it with another digitizer but I'm not hopeful. Could I have damaged something on the logic board? Any one else run into this issue?
