Galaxy S4 Allegedly Explodes, Burns Down Apartment and Torches Mercedes – Droid Life

Monday 29th of July 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
According to a recent report from Hong Kong, a Galaxy S4 is the suspect in an arson fire. Not that the device will be tried or anything like that, but according to the device’s owner, the S4 was acting normally, then it just blew up in his hands. Once the device caught fire, the victim threw the device onto his couch, which then lit up the rest of his apartment and the fire even spread to his Mercedes. With the victim of the fire assuring those concerned that the device was running a Samsung battery and was only charged using an official Samsung charger, could the blame be put onto the tech giant?¬†According to investigators, no foul play is currently suspected. Samsung issued a statement that they are personally looking into the matter and are sending down a chemical analyst to insure that the device and its components came from one of their factories. The quicker Samsung can blame this on some janky third party component, the better. We will keep you posted on how it unfolds. For now, we suggest carrying around a bucket of water when using your Galaxy S4. For those with a wate

Galaxy S4: Phone keeps Shutting down for no Reason

Thursday 24th of October 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
My galaxy s4 keeps shutting down for no reason as if it doesn't have any battery left. It was rooted and I had downloaded a lot for 3rd part apps. At first I though that was the problem, but I wasn't. I unrooted my device, factory reset it and cleared all cash. I don't know what the problem is. Could it be that my battery is broken? But I only have had the phone for a month. Every time it shutdown there is a gap in the amount of battery left. When it shutdown and I plug it into the charger it shows as if there is no battery left and then after a couple of seconds show that amount of battery there was before shutdown.

T-Mobile Galaxy SII - My S2 shut down & just vibrates. Help please

Monday 25th of November 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
my S2 has never had aproblem until now. It shut down one day with a full charge & just started to vibrate. If I try to turn it on, it will start to reboot. the samsung logo comes up & the loading blue line starts to load. But when it gets to 1/2 way it just shuts off & vibrates again.I would be happy if I could do this myself, seen as i'm unemployed & looking for work & really need my phone. Even if I can get the master reboot screen to come up thats fine, to reset it to the factory settings. I backed it up 2 days prior this happening.

Galaxy S4 constant force shut down

Monday 02nd of December 2013 / androidforums.com
My galaxy s4 has recently started to force shut down. It started 3-4 days ago, with the time between force shutdown being 30secs to 30mins. I have no idea what has triggered the constant shutdowns, as I have not updated or downloaded any apps within this time frame. Is there anyway to resolve this issue?

Rapid battery drain, overheating, force shut-down

Saturday 07th of February 2015 / forums.androidcentral.com
Anyone experience this? In the past 3 days, my Gear S went from 100% to 13% in less than an hour, with no usage whatsoever except one run on one day. It even went from 100% do not disturb mode whilst tracking my sleep to below 20% 6 hours later - that's not normal. I have not installed anything new, other than the new firmware a few days prior to this issue. It is connected to my Note via BT, no apps running in the background, no GPS/data/wifi. When I tried to use it to track my run yesterday, it again would not pick up GPS signal, with or without the phone, finally GPS kicked in 15 mins into my run with the Gear S in stand-alone mode. The watch gave me an alert message of being overheated and shutting down, at ca. 13% battery, down from 97% when i started my run! Same thing ever since. The darn thing discharges rapidly and I get a message that it's shutting down. WTF? It does feel hot to the touch, so I checked and HR monitor was not on. Any ideas other than calling Samsung for (un-)support?
