Samsung Galaxy S3 Upgrade to S4 BACKUP and Transfer DATA HELP!
Tuesday 23rd of July 2013
Hi, Long time lurker here. Enjoy all the knowledge everyone shares. I have a S3 (with AT&T unfortunately but thats another story!) and upgraded to a galaxy s4 which I should be getting soon. I want to transfer all of my data exactly how it is on my S3 to my S4 so that my background/wallpaper and apps all show up on my s4. when I do the transferring of info will my apps show up in the same order/same pages on my new phone as they are on my present S3? I tried doing an entire backup on Samsung Kies and it crashes on the last step of backing up messages at 21% and is frozen. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Kies and am experiencing the same issue. I understand that Kies has a bad reputation but am wondering if there is a fix to this error or what other backup applicaiton I should use so that all my info can seamlessly be transferred to my new s4? I do appreciate everyones help with this issue that is driving me crazy. Also, how has the s4s stock battery been for current users? The s3s stock battery was hoorrible and I had to buy the hyperion extended battery which better
Galaxy S4 charge problem ( Phone suddenly closing )
Thursday 12th of September 2013
Hi everyone , i am a new user in this forum. My problem is about Galaxy S4. I am using it for three months, last week downloaded "Du battery saver" application. It cleans background applications, estimating the charge time etc.. Two days ago phone closed suddenly and opened again. After i opened the phone and wrote the pin, phone suddenly frozen. Then i taken the battery and restarted again. If i opened the phone again, the charge was 0. By the way, i removed the application. I plugged in charge, waited for %100 charging. After that i used the phone easily for three-four hours. If the charge percentage drops to %40-45, phone suddenly closed and restarted himself again. After restart the charge was again 0. This rouitine repeated for three or four times. I looked to some native forums in my own country, there are some users which encounters this problem. Do you have any suggestion for me ?
Galaxy S4 - Unfortunately, contacts has stopped working... T-Mobile
Tuesday 15th of October 2013
Hi, I have a rooted s4 running 4.2.2. I have not frozen any thing or uninstalled since rooting. I have it for the purpose of titanium backup, greenify, and root explorer.. And to increase my knowledge of smartphone technology. There is a problem ever since I change my number through T-Mobile the other day. I go into batch select mode for multiple email or SMS and every time I do it on my contacts screen or my message screen it freezes and brings me to my home screen with the error message "unfortunately, contacts has stopped working".I have researched this topic and have pulled my battery out for 40minutes and turned back on. Cleared cache on messages and tried to find a work around. (Originally my problem was discovered from messages going into batch select contacts mode. So I tried to batch select contact for SMS and email through contacts option itself.. Same problem). It doesn't sound like messages is the problem.. Has anyone had this problem and if so can you share. Thank you, Sent from my SGH-M919
Samsung Galaxy S4 Warning Camera failed.
Tuesday 15th of October 2013
hi guys. yesterday I was taking a walk and taking photos with my 2 month old galaxy s4. I have never had any issues with it. intill yesterday, I encountered a camera crash. I took out my camera, made a panorama, and then switched to auto mode and that's when my camera froze for like 30 seconds. after, it unfroze. I took a picture and the picture came out well accept the white black little horizontal lines on the top and bottom of the photo. after that I got worried so when I went back to the camera, it said the camera failed message and then it brought me to the home screen. after that, I accessed the camera again and everything was fine, the camera worked, accept the interface was frozen. I could not press the shutter button, gallery button, mode button, video button, etc. so I rebooted my phone and now the camera works perfectly. yesterday after the reboot I took pictures the whole day and It was perfect. today it is perfect too, no crashes. im just getting a little paranoid about why this happened and I am scared something is wrong with my phone as I worked and paid full price. ev

Sprint Galaxy S4 Display Screen Not Responsive - As if Locked or Frozen?
Sunday 16th of March 2014
Bought my S4 from BB 6 weeks ago, and now it's having frequent episodes in which the display screen does not respond to any touch inputs. The live wall paper on the home screen is functioning OK, but the rest of the screen is frozen or locked. The fix has been to restart the phone, then the screen responds as it should. So then, I set the phone aside for let's say an hour, then pick up the phone to make a call or open an app, and nothing happens - it looks normal but it's not responding to any touch/swipe kind of inputs. I searched in the settings, but didn't see anything obvious that would cause this problem. Any ideas?

When I open the twitter app and use the keyboard to type in a search, the keyboard stays frozen on the screen and also freezes the phone. When I hit the power/home key it takes quite a bit of time for the phone to respond to my prompt. Even when it does go to the home screen the keyboard is still frozen on the screen. Then when the screen blacks out and I hit the power/home key again it takes a good 10-20 seconds for the phone to wake up, and then after this whole process takes place I am able to use twitter with no problem. This problem only came about after this sh!t kat update. Any advice as to what may help this issue?! Sent from my Galaxy s4
S4 got wet and now stuck in boot screen/battery icon.
Monday 21st of July 2014
My S4 went swimming with me and now will power on for 5 seconds showing the "Samsung Galaxy S4" screen. This only happens when the battery is out but plugged into the power cord. If I put the battery in with the power plugged in, a battery icon comes up but is frozen on the screen. Battery power only nothing happens. It is a new battery (not damaged from water) and has a charge from another S4. Trying to get some pictures off of the phone if possible. They are on the phone memory, not the sd card. Any thoughts other than it being my new paper weight? Thanks!
Charging Symbol Appears but its frozen and its not charging.
Friday 14th of November 2014
My phone stopped charging and it eventually died. I plugged it in and the battery symbol with the loading circle usually comes on and the battery looks green. But when i plugged it in the battery symbol came up with a frozen circle and no color. Tried different wires and different plug things. So its not the charger. I ordered a new battery and put it in and the same thing happened, so i don't think its a battery problem. Please help!I have a Galaxy S4, had it for about a year
