Galaxy S4 arrived today
Friday 03rd of May 2013
Hello everyone, my Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 arrived today. I'm trying to get to drips to it as I've come from the iPhone 5 however I need a little help with the music. I have tried several ways to copy my music (approx. 1000 tracks) to my external SD card whilst the S4 is connected to the PC however it keeps crashing, and the songs that are copied over are not showing up in the music app. Can anyone recommend; a)the best way to transfer over my iTunes library to the S4, maintaining albums, artwork, filenames etc, and b)what music player is the best, as the one included with the S4 I haven't found very impressive. Ideally (and I know it's cheating) but is there an iPhone music app for Android? Lastly, would anyone recommend rooting my device. I have always jailbroken my iPhone's but this looks a little more involved. My Android version is 4.2.2 and the kernel version is 3.4.0-526204 if it helps. Thanks.

ROM flashing/phone restoring
Thursday 04th of July 2013
Galaxy S4 AT&TI recently decided to do a factory restore of my phone and now I can't get through the initial setup of the device without it saying "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" after I click the finish button. I didn't do a backup after I rooted the phone (Yes, I know). I used Titanium back-up to remove some bloatware and things I didn't want to have to look at. Then I tried to put it all back using the restore options in Titanium. I then decided to just do a big wipe and start over. Now I can't access my device at all since Settings keeps crashing, so now I'm thinking the only thing I've got left is to try and maybe flash a stock firmware ROM on the [volume up, power, home] start-up thing somehow. I have no idea how to do so, and if its possible or not. So is there a way I can fix this? Is this a common problem? What can I do? Help troubleshoot? Thanks.
Just got Samsung Galaxy S4 for Tmobile, already miss my nexus 4
Tuesday 16th of July 2013
So I live in Seattle, so I felt I would benefit from an upgrade from my nexus 4 to a Galaxy S4. I could certainly use the LTE speeds when out and about, a micro SD slot and reportedly better battery life. And if that isn't true, at least I could switch batteries or get a larger aftermarket one. So I took the plunge yesterday. I had a really, really good tmobile salesman that has a note 2 and knew all about rooting his own phone and all the custom MODs. He was really helpful and since he was so dang good at his job--knowing the plans, the costs, and the phones I was motivated to take the plunge. After spending a few minutes with touchwiz I was like--uh--hell no.... I had to really read some web pages--dang tmobile variant has a locked kernel to prevent super user root--so had to install TRWP, then fix the dang kernel to allow Super User to Work, then FINALLY got the Google play edition Rom 4.3 on it. While I like the clean look of the new rom , its not as stable as I would like--Dashclock keeps crashing! And I'm having trouble getting the lock screen to work as to my liking--why can't
Galaxy S4 keeps crashing?
Monday 03rd of March 2014
Someone please help me because I've just about had it with this phone. Every now and then my phone keeps crashing. Sometimes it crashes and turns on and works like normal, whereas others it will crash, turn back on, then restart again into an infinite crashing loop. The only way I can get it out of this is to remove the battery for a while. Don't know if my phones got a virus on but it shouldn't have. I've got both AVG and Lookout, plus I haven't downloaded anything that isn't off the play store. My other guess is to do with the memory/storage remaining on the phone. I've got the 16GB model I think (it says it says 9.25GB total space but I'm pretty sure the rest is took up by the OS) which has 732MB remaining and an 8GB Samsung MicroSDHC card which has 2.45GB remaining. I've got a 32GB SD card which I'm yet to use cause I can't keep some of my game saves, ect when I transfer over. Please help!??
Need help deleting Google Play permanently
Wednesday 19th of March 2014
I thought I wanted google play on my Galaxy S4 running the Gummy ROM on Android 4.4.2, but when I flashed the gapps zip, the google apps keep crashing instantly. I need to get rid of google play from my phone, I can access recovery and download mode, and from my recovery I can access the file manager, but that's all I can do. I can only access the volume settings when I am in the OS of my phone, I can't receive texts or calls, I can't access the main settings the initial setup keeps on crashing so I can't get anywhere. I have teamwin recovery 2.7. Also I really don't want to reflash anything please help. I tried reverting it to complete stock as well, but that keeps failing on Odin. I have completely wiped and factory reset it too. ALWAYS GET UNFORTUNATELY SETUP WIZARD HAS STOPPED WORKING
Galaxy S4 crashing problem
Friday 18th of April 2014
Can anyone help me solve the reason why my S4 keeps crashing? For some reason it just decides that it'll turn off and I've noticed that this happens quite a lot whenever the device falls just below 70% battery life. It's really starting to annoy me now so any help would be appreciated.
system ui keeps crashing - no wallpaper
Friday 24th of October 2014
Hello,I have a quite serious problem, I'm afraid. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and yesterday I downloaded the app GIF Livewallpaper Maker(Free), an app that lets you use gifs as wallpaper for your phone. However I didn't like the way the background looked, so I went and uninstalled it, BUT I forgot to change the wallpaper back to a still picture before doing so. The result was that the background disappeared completely, it's black. That wouldn't be a problem, but it seems like this altered something, so now a message that says "unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped" pops up literally every two seconds. Even if I try to add a wallpaper in between the pop ups, I can't. It won't let me click anything, not even the return, options and home buttons work. The only thing I can do is turn off the phone. I tried wiping the data and doing a hard reset; I figured I would lose my data but at least it'd revert to the default background. Everything went back as it was when I bought the phone but the wallpaper! It's still black, and the error message keeps coming u
Messaging app on brand new phone keeps crashing?
Saturday 27th of December 2014
Hi everyone! I recently made the switch from an iPhone to a Galaxy S4 mini. Everything is working find except for the messaging app. I imported all of my messages from my iPhone over (around 36,000), but the app pretty much crashes every time I use it. If I can open the app at all, it will usually let me send one text before crashing and I usually have to restart the phone to be able to fully open the app again. I deleted a few threads and messages that were unimportant, and the app seemed to work slightly better (as in maybe I can send two text messages now if I'm lucky), but obviously, I want it to work without crashing at all. As a digital hoarder, I'd prefer to keep all or most of my messages / wouldn't want to spend the time to leaf through all 35000 or so remaining messages to pick out the ones I want to keep from the ones I can part with if I can avoid it. Any suggestions? I tried switching over to hangouts, but I wasn't able to delete any messages or send any messages while using hangouts, so either I'm doing something wrong or it's just not working. Thanks!
Can I uninstall Lollipop from my Galaxy S4?
Thursday 26th of February 2015
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 which was "upgraded" to Android 5.0.1, which I think is Lollipop, last week. I HATE IT. My phone is unusable now - none of my music apps work, everything keeps crashing, it is soooo slow and the battery is horrible. I want my old android back, but all instructions I can find online for uninstalling Lollipop are for a Nexus. Any idea how to roll back Android on a Galaxy S4? Please help, I'm dying without my nice phone!
