Need help to flash Videotron N1 to 2.2.2 (getting error)
Tuesday 25th of January 2011
Okay, I'm a complete noob when it comes to N1 flashing, but I have asked for the help of kusanagi and got some good info to get me started.I basically want to flash my N1 to get rid of Videotron's Custom ROM completely and use the stock Nexus One ROM and update it to the latest available update [Android 2.2.2 to begin with, then perhaps Android 2.3 (aka Gingerbread)]... I don't want to use a custom ROM with enhanced stuff in it, I want vanilla stock with latest patch applied, that's it.What I have done so far (on Windows 7 x64):- I have managed to root my N1 using Universal Androot (used nothing else)- I have installed the Android SDK (installed all packages and it already includes fastboot) and got my USB Driver to work.- I have downloaded the following zip: Nexus One FRG83 system image and saved it where fastboot.exe is located (in [sdk path] ools)- I have read this Video: Flashing Froyo onto Your Nexus One ... but some parts only confused me.- I have read this Flash the System Image Package to the Device and figured that's what I needed to do, so after taking note of my contact i
Android 4.0.4 AOSP ROM now available for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus
Wednesday 28th of March 2012
As you read a little while ago, Android 4.0.4 is being pushed out to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), but the Verizon Galaxy Nexus is left in the dark. We have some good news as Birdman created a stock ROM based on the recent 4.0.4 AOSP build that was just released, and has been specially configured for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Birdman does note “that the kernel source isn’t getting its 4.0.4 push till later this week. Still – this is 4.0.4 (and 4.0.3 kernels should work on it anyways).” You will also need to get the newest Google apps package and in order to remain rooted you must flash the superuser fix .zip to keep the Superuser app in check. And as always, be sure to complete a Nandroid backup before flashing just in case anything goes awry. If you are ready to get your early 4.0.4 on, head over to the source link and give it a try. For those who do check it out, be a pal and let us know how she runs!//source: rootzwiki» See more articles by Robert Nazarian//

Four Ways to Fix GPS Problems in Froyo
Wednesday 16th of February 2011
*** I will try and get this updated in the next day or two for Froyo EB13 we have used Procedure #3 and #4 on Froyo EB13 *** Many of us have a working GPS with Froyo, but if your GPS is not working after flashing Froyo, here are four procedures you can try. Note that this does not guarantee that your GPS will work even after you perform one or all these procedures, but it is something to try if you really need GPS working. Procedure 1 - requires the use of Odin & requires root accessTaken from post on XDA:Flash Eclair DI18 using OdinGo into Google Maps and get a GPS lockFlash the DK28 modem using Odin, then boot upInstall ClockworkMod RecoveryFlash the DK28 ROMYour GPS should now work Procedure 2 - does not require Odin & requires root accessTaken from post on XDA:"Fixed it. It was a pain, but overall not that bad. As a refresher, I was originally 2.1 rooted stock, downloaded 2.2.1 directly from Google's server WITHOUT getting a GPS lock first in Eclair, and then completely lost GPS (no satellites even detected). I was peeved since everything else was working great
Boot loop problem
Wednesday 05th of October 2011
Having a boot loop problem. I'll describe the loop first and then what lead up to it and what I have tried so far.I am running manualnooter 4.6.16 for 1.2 stock ROM and CWR 188.8.131.52When powering on I see the following:- "Reading Forever"- Nook Color spelled out- When Color starts to slide over towards middle of screen and then starts to flash with colors, the word color stops prior to getting to the middle. From here it goes back to spelling out Nook Color but this time it hangs at "Nook Co" and then continues to loop on this (spelling out "Nook Co" over and over). I have press power button for while to shut down. What I have tried:- tried powering up a number of times, with and without SD card in place, and with different SD card as well. All have the same issue.- tried to boot into CWR with N and power button but that doesn't work. It won't boot into recovery.NOTE UPDATE: finally got CWR boot to work with N and power button, I must not have been holding them down for the exact right amount of time. However, clearing caches and rebooting still has same is
Rooting: A quick guide (Updated 3/10/09)
Tuesday 20th of January 2009
Root allows you to modify just about everything, flash new images, change your boot image, change themes, run ARM debian, and tons more. This guide goes through installing/downgrading to RC29, getting root, flashing the new recovery.img / test keys, changing the boot loader, and installing JesusFreke's modified RC33 builds. If you're using a Rogers G1, this process will not work for you. See this.If you're unsure about why you would want root, or aren't comfortable with flashing or poking around on your device, do not do this.Update (3/10/09): Switched from RC30 to RC33 instructions, and clarified a few points.Sources JesusFreke's modified updatesRegistering without a sim or data planModded recovery and boot imagesDream SPLsRC30 to JFv1.31And all of the great people over at xda-developers and freenode/#android who make it all happen. Let's get started. Also, please note that this will wipe out everything - all of your settings and apps - twice. By installing the RC29 nbh, you lose everything, and likewise moving to RC33.There's 4 main files you're going to need:DREAIMG.nbhThis is the N

Note 2 4.3 leak
Thursday 24th of October 2013
Those of us holding on to our note 2 have been sitting back and waiting for our turn to get some 4.3 touchwiz love. Well thanks to Designgears over at xda we now have something to work with in the form of Heimdall file (for the at&t variant). With any leak or rom understand there may be risks so I highly recommend you pay attention and understand what you are getting into. If for what ever reason you do not feel comfortable I suggest you wait a little bit as the dev community will have come up with flash-able zip files through recovery. Either way cheers to Designgears as this is a big step in getting 4.3 twiz roms on the note 2. Though I know this is mainly a verizon forum, the at&t note 2 is a modem difference away so it will be a matter of tweaks before you guys see n2 4.3 twiz roms as well.JSS15J.I317UCUBMJ4 (Android 4.3) - xda-developers
Getting Flash to work on the note 3
Sunday 03rd of November 2013
Hello there, has anybody installed Flash, and have it properly work on Desktop-version websites on the note III? If so, mind showing me what instructions you followed? Thanks!
So long.. Farewell...
Tuesday 31st of December 2013
Hmmm.. Been a few weeks since I've posted in here, but you guys were like my first "Android" family, helping me with so many problems and teaching me a ton of tricks, so I felt it beat to bid you all adieu. I am getting a work phone next week (most likely an S4 or Note 3) and I bought myself a new Nexus 7 (Flo) with my end of year bonus, so I definitely won't be using the Motion anymore I will say this, for sure, the things I learned rooting and flashing my Motion, made everything so much easier when it came time to unlock and flash my Nexus. So many cool people in the Motion forum deserve a beer and a handshake, and I appreciate all of the help, patience, and tolerance that you all showed me. I hope to eventually see some of you on the device forums that I'm moving to, and if not, it's been real, its been fun, but it hasn't quite been real fun :PSwoRNLeaDejZ.. Signing out..
