My phone won't turn on, software update problem.

Wednesday 05th of September 2012 / androidforums.com
Please Help!I have had my Samsung Galaxy S 2 HD LTE for only a month now, and today i ran a software update to Ice Cream Sandwich but it got frozen! and now it won't turn on. It is still charging and that battery sign comes up on the screen when its off. If I try to turn it on, the start up sound effect comes on, but then it gets stuck with "samsung" written on the screen. I tried to do the hard reset to the factory settings, but to no avail! I don't know what else to do.

Screen went black!

Monday 13th of September 2010 / androidforums.com
Came into work this morning, plugged the phone into the Samsung dock, was trying to get to my gmail when the screen went out. Well, I've had some annoyances with the screen timeout, so I thought nothing of it. Tried pushing the power button. Nothing. Took the phone off the dock. Tried again - nothing. The backlight comes on on the capacitive buttons, but the screen is black. Held down the power button - the power off/airplane/silent toggle comes on. Okay, I thought - maybe it's frozen up. Powered down, got the VZW splash screen. Powered back up, got the whole bootup animation. After the VZW splash screen, screen goes black and I'm right back in the same place again. I've also tried this process with removing the battery. Same thing happens. Seems to linger at the Verizon splash screen longer than I remember, too, on bootup. About 20 seconds...So to recap, here I am: The backlight on the capacitive buttons is on (and not dimming, btw). If I hold down power, I get the power off menu. Otherwise, the screen is black, and not responding to any button presses. I'm running Launcher Pro, oth

Samsung s3 sudden of death?! Recovery mode messed up?!

Friday 01st of November 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi guys!So Im gonna shortly explain whats happening to my phone, and you all can take your conclusions about what the problem could be.My s3 was working fine until a few hours ago, when me friend called me. When he hung up, my phone was frozen already. No response at all... I held the power button to perform a 'reset', but it is frozen now on the first splash screen. Tried removing battery, everything. After a few searches and few topics (Samsung galaxy S3 frozen on start screen... HELP PLEASE!), got a conclusion that I am another victim of the SUDDEN DEATH SYNDROME that have been affecting many users on UK. However... I dont think I really qualify into this category, since I can turn my phone on, and get into the Recovery mode. Now thats the funny part. My recovery mode seems very messed up.There are many lines of code saying 'E: failed to mount/ E: cant mount/ E:Cant open'etc etc Someone give me some instructions on what to do please! Cheers

S3 keeps restarting at Galaxy S3 screen

Tuesday 25th of February 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
So here's the skinny. Was at work about three nights ago, bout to clock out for the night, noticed that I had a text. Went to check the text, noticed that the phone was legit frozen. As had happened before, I popped the back off and took the battery out put it back in went to restart and got nothing. Figured maybe the battery was dead, tried plugging it into the charger, no LED lights came on period to indicate battery was charging. Found my spare battery and tried to boot the phone, Samsung screen comes up, then the Galaxy S3 screen shows and bam, reboot. Tried going into restore mode and it does the same thing, shows the samsung screen and reboots. My phone isn't rooted, isn't running on hacked roms or anything, so my question is, is the piece of **** dead? I don't know what else to do.

S4 got wet and now stuck in boot screen/battery icon.

Sunday 20th of July 2014 / androidforums.com
My S4 went swimming with me and now will power on for 5 seconds showing the "Samsung Galaxy S4" screen. This only happens when the battery is out but plugged into the power cord. If I put the battery in with the power plugged in, a battery icon comes up but is frozen on the screen. Battery power only nothing happens. It is a new battery (not damaged from water) and has a charge from another S4. Trying to get some pictures off of the phone if possible. They are on the phone memory, not the sd card. Any thoughts other than it being my new paper weight? Thanks!

Galaxy S3 frozen Screen after "Software Update." How to get my data?

Tuesday 09th of December 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Well.... I uploaded a new software update- I tried avoiding this bc the last time I did, my phones battery was horrible and GPS did not work for a better part of a week. However, the upload message would not stop after two weeks, and it would drop my calls when it was giving me the notice/and or trying, it would also knock me off internet. So I did. However, my battery started to go to crap, at 20% it would shut the phone off, later for me to come home, plug it into a charger to be at 30% not 20%. I found that odd. However, it requested again without remorse, almost 30% calls were interrpted and I thought maybe this "Update again" might fix the problems. Nope, my suspicions became true. I seen my phone with the little droid guy and it uploading. However, when I got back to the phone, it was stuck on a Samsung screen. I can power the device on and off, it will go through the motions if you will, but soon as it hits the Samsung title cannot boot past it. To note when doing the " Software Update"- thanks Samsung- not really..when doing it I had my phone on a charger
