No sim card error without sim card, no IMEI
Thursday 09th of May 2013
I just got a used AT&T HTC Vivid with what turns out are 2 anomalies that I failed to observe initially.First I tried to put my ST sim card out my AT&T SGS, and get no service. No big shock initially since I have to change the APN info. Couldn't do that cause option is dimmed.Checked further, unknown IMEI, IMEI SV, no baseband. Took sim out and observed that I get NO sim error at startup, just "no service". Tried an AT&T sim from a friends Vivid, same result.I was hoping that the sim card reader just might be bad, a cheap easy fix and apparently some what of a common issue. Haven't ordered one yet until I get more info on whether the no sim error and no IMEI etc are related and it's not a more serious hardware issue.I don't think (but don't know 4 sure) that this phone is anything other than an out of the box stock configuration. I don't have service with AT&T so I don't know how much help they would be. I did check with them to make sure IMEI printed on the phone wasn't blacklisted and it's OK. All I have done was to do a factory reset to clear all the PO's
Help - no sim, no imei, no Kies, nothing!
Saturday 16th of March 2013
Any help will be much appreciated! I have a Samsung Galaxy SII GT-I900P on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread.XXKJ4 on a 24-mth contract with O2, I've had it for just over a year (just weeks out of the warranty). I have not altered the hardware or software in any way. It has not been damaged. So I have been very surprised and incredibly frustrated as 48 hours ago I stopped getting 3G/any network. I can use Wi-fi. When I try Settings-Wireless and Network-Mobile networks it says 'Insert SIM card to access network services'. My SIM is fine - it works in other devices. Other working SIMs do not work in my Galaxy S2. The phone has: 1. No SIM (though working SIMs inserted)2. No IMEI/unknown number/mobile network state - disconnected.3. Unknown baseband.4. Cannot connect to Kies via USB or wirelessly - 'connecting' message ticks over for an eternity. My PC, however, picks up immediately that my phone is plugged in.5. I cannot connect to Kies, so I can't update the firmware. Who knows whether this would help anyway. Can't rule anything out though.5. I have undertaken a handset hard reset. Twice. It d
OTA Update IMEI unkown
Monday 24th of September 2012
Hi.Im from brazil. I bought a galaxy nexus a few months ago(warranty already expired) in a local shop. It was on version 4.0.4 on a non yakju build(yakjuxw). One day the OS asked me to update my android and so i did. But, when the phone was back on, it was updated to 4.1.1, but, my IMEI and Baseband became unkown under the status menu.I know that non-yakju cellphones get their OTA update from samumg and not from google. But, what could be the problem? I didnt make any backup as i thought that an OTA update would have no issues. I already tried to flash the google yakju 4.1.1 stock image from google but the problem still persists. I tried several fixes, including one that says that removing the battery for some time helps to recover, but no success yet.Im really afraid that i lost my phone after paying a fortune for it.Can anyone help me? Thanks a lot!

Any help would be great because im totally lost. I dropped my rooted phone into water and have had issues since. I put it into rice for the night, next day it wouldn't start up so i switched batteries and everything loaded up fine. Then I noticed i was getting no signal. Looked at about phone and baseband was unknown and imei was gone. Wifi was working fine. I backed up my efs files with software, so i have a efs image and folder. I then like a total fool did a factory reset and it would turn on anymore. So i tried to root it again with firmware i found online with odin 1.85. It boots up as far as the samsung logo but thats it. I dont know what else to do. I have no any other ideasThe method i used to root the phone was this youtube video"How to Root Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 Jelly Bean Android 4.1.1/4.1.2!"I have attached the egs folderThanks

Help me, my IMEI/Baseband combination is wrong.

Hi,I'll recap my posts from XDA since no one there was able to help me solve my issue 100%. I had an XEF (France) ROM, which I thought was XSG (UAE) since I live in the UAE.it was DME6 with DMF1 as baseband.everything was fine until I accidently flashed an S3 ROM on my Note 2. (GT-N7100)Then I downloaded a Stock rom , which apparently was 4.1 instead of 4.1.2 which I had installed.so it got into a loop at SAMSUNG logo, So I got the DME6 ROM and flashed it. Everything was fine until I started getting no signals, not just that, I also got unknown IMEI/EFS/CP. so I restored my backed up EFS, and it worked. but it seems that everytime I restart I loose my EFS, and I have to restore again. So I searched for my baseband and it is DME4. I got an DMF1 one which I thought would work. it did fix the IMEI, but the same EFS problem occurred. So I got the UAE (XSG) modem DLK7 and the signal works, Baseband is DLK7 instead of DMF1 , but that's no big deal. my IMEI now is 0049**..etc IMEI, and I hate that cuz it may cause problems. so now I have 2 options:-Correct Baseband/Modem with a working IMEI

Unrooting SG3 failed no baseband
Friday 28th of March 2014
Hey guys I'm just coming over from this thread: Unrooting SG3 failed. And from suggestion come over here for help. If you haven't clicked the link I'll give you the synopsis. Basicly I was unrooting my GS3 because after using CM for about 3 months I felt like I wanted to go back to stock(not that I hated it wanted to go back to stock due to a few issues with it) So I looked up online and found a few tuts. I picked one and like the dummy I am, didn't look at the firmware. The firmware I picked reset the phone to where it was like it just came out of the box. Basicly, the phone works fine like the touch screen, wifi, apps, etc etc EXPECT there is no IMEI. I have no baseband. I tried flashing different stock roms like 4.0.4 and 4.1.1 to no avail via Odin. It keeps failing it and I sadly can't restart by rerooting since CM tells me it can't recognize the phone's firmware. The only other problem is that there is no sound from the speakers. From what I am aware I need to flash a modem onto the phone since there isn't one on there as of now. But from looking and searching the modem's I have

Also this model has differ firmware based on the country but kies shows it as (TTT) Trinidad and Tabogo. K
