Help with a Samsung Galaxy Centura
Saturday 22nd of June 2013
So, I recently got Straight Talk's Centura. But, there's something I'm really confused about. Whenever I plug my phone into my computer, instead showing up like it should, it just shows up as a portable device. The only options I have are to view the files in Windows Explorer (the folder is empty) or to sync files via Windows Media Player (when it opens WMP, it doesn't show as a device on the right side.) Does anyone know what to do? I just want to add music to my phone. Any help would be insanely appreciated. Thank you!
Data Connection Help
Sunday 14th of July 2013
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Centura with prepaid Straight Talk service. The problem is my data connection is slower than what it should be. I get 3g with full signal in my area, and it downloads at an average of only 15kb/s. My previous phone through Straight Talk was a Samsung Galaxy Proclaim, a much similar phone, and it would download at 100kb/s in the same area with 3g as well. I rooted it and changed the DNS to GoogleDNS and its not showing any real difference. Something seems not right about it. Any tips? Are there more effective DNS servers that I could use? Thanks for any help.

Help with a Samsung Galaxy Centura speaker.
Sunday 08th of December 2013
I got a Samsung Galaxy Centura a few months ago, shortly after the speaker broke when I was listening to Pandora. A couple months passed, I didn't mind seeing how I could just use the headphone jack, I hit it on something and the speaker started working again. But it died again shortly after. What is a good way just to fix the speaker entirely so I don't have to go out and get a new phone? I highly dread getting a new one because I have a Blizzard mobile authenticator on it. So any help will be highly appreciated, thank you. c:
Solution for failed straight talk android system update samsung galaxy centura
Thursday 13th of February 2014
I have been having issues lately with a popup that keeps telling me that their is an android update for my samsung galaxy centura straight talk phone. Only problem is every time I tried to install it, it failed to install and showed an android guy on his back. After calling the worthless tech support at straight talk who barely can speak English I had them tell me that maybe my phone doesn't have an update available, it said why is it telling me one is available? I told them thanks for wasting my time and not helping me what so ever!My solution was to go to setting and in setting select the option to reset my phone to manufactures setting, of course back up your google contacts first but reset your phone. As soon as I did I got the android system update message, I selected install and it finally worked! Thought I would post this for anyone who tried straight talk tech support and got zero help. Hopefully this helps someone!
Help with Samsung Galaxy Centura
Tuesday 05th of August 2014
Recently my Samsung Galaxy Centura, that I purchased in June. Started to act funny, when I plugged it in , it would disconnect and reconnect a bunch of times in one setting. After that, it would show it was charging, but would just decrease in percentage. Then the only way I could get it to charge, was after 15 minutes if I sat it just the right way and never touched it. It would charge after that, well last night I fell asleep before I could do so. When I awoke this morning , my phone had shut off completly. No matter what angle I sit it, or if i've taken the battery out a thousand times. It will not even come on a charging screen. I've tried using different charges , that didn't work, the battery isn't buldged, so it can't be bad. The only thing I can think, is it's the charger port. Can I fix this myself? Or can I send it to Straighttalk and have them fix it? Or will I have to purchase a new phone all together?
Samsung Galaxy Centura trouble
Tuesday 26th of August 2014
Hello, I have a Smasung Galaxy Centura that I have had since December 2013. Have not had many issues with it until today. Today whenever I tried to send a message via text or a messaging app I got a notification saying "Unfortunately *app name* has stopped working" (replace *app name* with Messaging, and other various apps). It has progressed to the point where every ten minutes or so my phone will vibrate and give that error message for things I am not even using, such as Gmail, Email, Google Play, etc. I tried to take a screenshot and it said there was not enough storage. I have tried to remove some apps to free up space, but nothing seems to help.
Samsung Centura spontaneous shut off
Tuesday 02nd of September 2014
I have a Samsung Galaxy Centura that I have had for about a year. Have not had any major problems with it other than the clock resetting which I think is a common problem. Last week, it started randomly and spontaneously turning off. Sometimes it take multiple tries ti turn back on, even after removing the battery and letting it sit. I don't use it much and only have a few apps loaded to it. Is there anything I can do to remedy this problem? Do I need a new battery or do I need to buy a new phone? Thank you for your help.

Also it only has one page and has a never ending list of all of the icons on the bottom of the phone...why cant there be another page of these icons. This is a straight talk phone that I purchased yesterday.
I want to bring CyanogenMod to the Samsung Galaxy Centura, is it cool to ask for help?
Thursday 11th of September 2014
Hey folks. I have an interest in porting more Open-Source ROMs to affordable, accessible, preferably prepaid phones. had been been experimenting with porting CyanogenMod and Replicant to non-official devices for a while on the ZTE Force and the LG Optimus Logic, when my buddy came over with his new Samsung Galaxy Centura, took a glance at it, and realized I had been making my own life way harder because this device had almost none of the complications that had arisen in my previous attempts to port. It was pretty exciting. I'd like to port CyanogenMod to this phone, and if possible even gain official support. But right now, there are some complications, mostly financial, keeping me from doing this. For one thing, I don't have the hardware myself. In order to port to the Centura, I'm probably going to need a Centura. It's not an expensive phone, but it would be irresponsible for me to purchase one at this time. I'm hoping I can find someone with an old Centura they would be willing to send me to work with.Additionally, I make my living working freelance, removing malware from people's
