How To share your G1 internet connection over USB

Monday 03rd of November 2008 /
I found a really cool app/guide detailing how to share the G1's internet connection with a laptop or other device via USB.The process is a little involved but it does work, and will be worth it for anyone that's been looking for a solution for this.Install the app on your android phone, by clicking here (from your phone browser of course)You might have to change your settings to permit apps that don't come from the Google Market by going to your home screen and choosing MENU > Settings > Applications > Unknown Sources.Turn USB debugging on on your phone On your G1 go to the home screen, press MENU > Settings > Applications > Development, then enable USB debugging.Follow the instructions here to install the Android driver - you'll need to do this on Windows & Linux but apparently not on the Mac.Download and install the Android SDK for your computer platform. Alternatively if you are on Windows and don't want a 100 meg download, just get the ADB utility from herePlug your phone into your computerChoose Proxy App from your phone's menuPress the "Start Proxy&

Craig CMP714e tablet frozen at Android splash screen

Friday 29th of March 2013 /
Hello everyone! I am a brand new Android user. I have worked with Microsoft and Apple products for years, but this is my first time with Android products, and I'm at a loss.My CMP714e tablet, which I purchased at a local CVS Pharmacy will not go past the Android splash screen. I connect it to my Windows XP desktop and I do get "new device found", but it fails to install the device. I've searched for, and downloaded the firmware for this tablet from Craig Electronics, the manufacturer, and I'm ready to burn the firmware to the device, if that's what it takes, but I don't know how to get it recognized on my computer for the Android utility programs to find it.Is there a Windows driver, or maybe I should say an Android driver for Windows that I can download onto my Windows XP Pro machine to install this device? What else might I need to do to get this tablet past the splash screen?Thank you for all your help!Henry

USB Camera Support For Tablet - Android Development - Android Forum - A Community For Android Users and Enthusiasts

Tuesday 08th of January 2013 /
Hi all!I'm an interested person in emdbedded systems. Nowadays, I'm trying to learn Android. However I've stucked in my first try. I was working on a test project about processing video to detect motion (I'm also interested in image processing projects). In the middle of searching types of platforms, I've discovered very-mini and powerful android PC's. I've bought an OEM Android tablet pc without integrated camera. And my problem started.I'm trying to connect a USB web cam to my Android PC. It has ICS on it and supports USB Host mode. When I conenct my pendrives it automatically recognizes and I can surf in my folders using my tablet. However it did not recognize my webcam.I've made a kind of search in google and I found something called "V4L" or "V4L2". I think this is the driver that I need. However I have no idea about integrating drivers to kernel or compiling a new kernel or how to flash my tablets nand memory. I've found this link but I couldn't install the driver. Because I do not know how to integrate it.http

samsung galaxy s 2 - Windows wont install android USB driver automatically or manually

Saturday 04th of May 2013 /
I've had all sorts of problems getting ADB to run in the past so I generally know how to trouble shoot this but now I can't get windows 7 to recognize or install the USB driver when I plug it in. It was running fine until I flashed a new Cyanogen ROM but since reverted back to a version I know was working. The SDK is up to date, and it has the Google USB driver installed, I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it as administrator. When I plug in my phone via USB it tries to install 4 android devices which all fail. If I click on a device and try to locate the drivers manually and point it to the SDK dir it just immediately says windows can't find a driver. Also I can connect to the device using WIFI ADB, and can also mount the SD card to my comp via USB.

How to Take Screenshots on your Kindle Fire Tablet

Wednesday 11th of April 2012 /
Thinking of making a tutorial or showing one of your friends screenshots of your Kindle Fire, well, you can’t, (for now) but read on, because I’ll show you a way to take screenshots on your Kindle Fire Tablet (yes, it’s a tablet, not an eReader).First let me say that I like the Kindle Fire because it runs on Android, but you won’t recognize it. Of course, it has its flaws, like lag in menus, misplaced or hidden volume control for your apps or the wrong placement of the OFF button (bottom), but all in one, it’s a great device to read and watch movies on.Without further ado, let me show you how to take screenshots on Kindle Fire: Download and install the Java Development Kit and latest Android Software Development Kit.Start the Android SDK Manager and Install Android 2.3.3 (API10) and Google USB Driver package. Uncheck Android 4.0.3 (API15) if you’re not planning to update to ICS.Now press Start and type cmd in the Search box and hit Ctrl+Shift+Enter (admin privileges).Add the Kindle Fire to the USB driver file by typing:notepad c:Program Files (x86)Androidandroid-sd

PDAnet install issues.

Saturday 17th of July 2010 /
I have PDAnet now installed on my X, I had it on my DIC and also on my laptop as the DIC was tethered to my laptop. For some reason PDAnet would not open on my laptop when I tried to tether the X to it, so I uninstalled PDAnet and downloaded again. Now on every site I go to I keep getting the following message as it goes along in the installation process. BTW, I do remove the previous versions of PDAnet and I have a program, 'Revo uninstaller' that usually gets out all the files from programs. 'An existing Android USB driver is found on your computer. You can remove it if it has problems. Select yes to re-install or no to keep driver'. If I select 'yes' a popup states, 'please make sure your Android phone has been disconnected from the computer and select ok to continue. If you have a Samsung Android please cancel and install a driver from list, blah, blah blah'So the X is not connected and I select 'ok' and another popup comes up to state about performing the following to complete usb driver installation. And how to 'debug' my X, which I have. Then to connect phone, which I do, but
