Update Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 to Unofficial CM10 Jelly Bean 4.1 custom ROM
Wednesday 22nd of August 2012
The Samsung Galaxy Ace is a smartphone that has been launched from some time and until now you would be able to run on it only CM7 / Gingerbread or some custom CM9 based on Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0. Now, an XDA Senor Member, Mac?aw managed to create a working CyanogenMod 10 test build that will bring Jelly Bean 4.1 for your Galaxy Ace phone.Use the instructions in this article and you will learn how to successfully flash this new custom ROM. However, note that you should only install this CM10 preview Jelly Bean ROM only if you wish to test it, as there are some bugs and some features that aren’t currently working. The Galaxy Ace phone packs an ARM6v7 CPU and now it has become the first device that supports a Jelly Bean 4.1- based port. It would be better if you would create a full Nandroid backup of your existing ROM so that in case the new OS doesn’t impress you, you will then be able to restore your previous OS installation. It has been confirmed that the GSM, SMS, EDGE, 3G, Signal are full working, as well as Audio, Sensors, Project Butter interface, Full 2D/3D accelerat

How to restore/add google search to android browser - Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830L
Monday 05th of March 2012
I own a rooted Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830L. My carrier decide it was a good idea to remove Google search from the default android browser replacing it with a absolutely useless search engine they provide (which I hate with the burning passion of a thousand suns). If I go into the browser's settings > Select search Engine, I get the carriers engine as the only option. Is there a way to install google search or restore the browser back to a non carrier customized version?I already have Opera mini installed but I want to use both so please do not suggest this as a solution.
how to backup to PC? Kies not working
Friday 12th of October 2012
Hi there,I've just wasted the entire afternoon trying to figure out how to backup all of the stuff on my Samsung Galaxy Ace to my PC. A google search came up with Kies, which I successfully downloaded and installed, but whenever I try to connect my phone (it does read it correctly as GT-S5839i), I get a message saying "unable to connect to GT-S5829i. Failed to retrieve driver information". Tried troubleshoot tool. Also tells me it did its thing successfully, but it doesn't change anything. Restarting PC didn't do the trick, either. Very frustrating. Please help, thanks! (And no, I don't want to root my phone or do anything fancy. Just want to know that if my phone dies on me, I've got somewhere to go to to restore my contacts, sms etc. Anybody know how to do that? Thanks!

Samsung Galaxy Ace s5830i keeps restarting!
Monday 03rd of June 2013
Hello all!I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i. I am on Gingerbread, version 2.3.6 .I was annoyed that when I wanted to download some apps from Google Play, for example, BBC Media Player, it said my device was not compatible with this app. So i wanted to fix this. So, i went on YouTube and watched this video: (type in Android:"This game is not compatible with your device"Fix. into the search bar [Android Forums will not let me post links ]and followed the instructions mentioned. These were to change my s5830i into si9110. It told me then to restart my phone. So i did. The next thing I know, my phone kept on restarting!!I have tried "Wipe all data" and "wipe cache" and "reboot phone" in the recovery, but none have worked. I am not worried with losing data as I have backed it all up onto an App called "App Backup and Restore". I need a solution on how to fix this or undo what I have done. Much help is a preciatedElena
Galaxy Ace 2 GT-S7560M restore help! (I think I bricked it pretty badly)
Thursday 25th of July 2013
So I tried to unroot my phone using Odin and a a stock firmware I found that was for Telus, my carrier, and half-way through it said that my Galaxy Ace 2 Gt-7560M had encountered a problem and needed to be recovered in Kies. So I downloaded Kies, and all the drivers and such, but the phone wouldn't connect, it would just be at the connecting screen for over 30 minutes. I can't enter download/recovery mode as it just shows the encountered issue screen every time I turn it on or try to enter download/recovery mode. Anyone know how I can revert it back to normal and unrooted? I'm really stuck here, and I'm worried I bricked it for good...
Can a SD card from a water damaged Hawaui mobile, be used on a Samsung Galaxy Ace
Friday 31st of October 2014
My Hawaui was water damaged badly and I removed the SD card immediately to dry off. I have now a Samsung Galaxy Ace3 and inserted the SD card into it to try and restore contacts. All photos on the SD card are still on it, but no contact numbers.(storage says total space on SD card is 1.84GB). In settings, I am having trouble finding how to restore this SD to the new mobile as there is only how to format SD card (which I don't want to do)Thank youSylvana
