How to free up space on your android device and stick to 8gb
Saturday 30th of June 2012
Just as you’re about to pre-order that brand spankin’ new Nexus 7, you have to make the decision. Are you going to get the 8GB version for $199 or upgrade to 16GB for $249?Coming from a guy that doesn’t carry a whole hard-drive of music around, the choice was easy. I went straight for the 8GB model and sprung for that sweet dark grey cover. But let’s say you’re a music junky and like to download all of the top new movies, apps, and games. The 8GB on the base Nexus 7 model can get crowded fast, and unfortunately, there’s no SD card slot to extend the storage. There are a few steps you can take to get some extra space on your brand new tablet, though. Check’em out below. Also, these steps don’t only apply for Nexus 7 users. All of these suggestions will work on any Android device.1. Getting rid of old pictures and videosSure, that picture of you throwing up the peace sign with your friends was funny two years ago. But now it’s probably just taking up anywhere from 1 to 10MB of space.Android has always had a great gallery to look at
HOWTO: See your iTunes album art on Nexus One.
Sunday 28th of March 2010
IntroductionSo far, not being able to see my album art on the gorgeous N1 screen has been my only beef with the device. But not anymore. This HOWTO will show you how to embed your album art into the ID3 tag so that your N1 can display it natively. Being FREE can't be bad either.Disclaimer: I know that Album Art Wizard, MixZing, and other apps exist from the Android App Store to do this, but the flaw is that it may download artwork that is different from the ones in iTunes or it requires data to download the artwork. This technique is not as easy as using Album Art Wizard or MixZing, but I prefer it. If you are an OSX user, there is an AppleScript to do this. What You NeediTunes - You probably already have this installed because you sold your iPhone right?Teridon's iTunes Scripts - Click the Download link on the top left. Extract the *.exe file to your computer. I simply dumped it into my Music folder.StepsRun the teridons_itunes_scripts.exe extracted from the downloaded zip file.A script selector window will open. Select itunes_insert_artwork and click on [Run selected Script] button.A

Given Verizon's history, what features are going to be locked out and charged for in the N1? How would they block a user's ability to sync music with the phone? How would they block a user's ability to download music with the phone?Would they block a user from syncing their data with the phone, (contacts, etc.)?Will they have any control over what apps you can download onto the phone?
My situation and Verizon's data plans...
Tuesday 23rd of October 2012
Considering moving to Verizon or AT&T from Sprint (more likely Verizon) but I want to know how much data I'll actually need. The one thing I am going to miss about Sprint is the Unlimited Everything, but I can sacrifice that for LTE in my city. In my situation, I will be upgrading to the iPhone 5. I am a big social network user. Facebook, Twitter, among others, as well as Fantasy Sports, Sparknotes, Gmail, Kindle and using iCloud to download music and other stuff like that. Right now my Nexus S 4G is reporting I have used 5.93gbs of data during the cycle of 10/21-11/21, BUT... this is due to the fact that I had to download my music library over Sprints network through Google Play (5.04gbs of data used). I do have WiFi at my house but it shuts off at 10:30pm and that won't be changing anytime soon. So basically I am only a data consumer from the hours of 10:30pm-5am and whenever I am out to places that don't have WiFi available. The other thing to consider is that this plan will consist of 4 phones (probably 3 of them iPhones and the other one an Android). I am the only "data

Getting a nexus 5 - need help
Friday 07th of February 2014
I will be getting a nexus 5 in the next few weeks. I am coming from an iphone 5 so i just have a few questions i need answers to. Would be very grateful to anyone who can help. Syncing music from my iphone to my nexus 5 - How do i do this? I have read that lots of people use google music (i think that's what it is called? the cloud based system) but I would rather have the music on my phone and not use data in order to access it. So is there a program that can do this? Photos - is the best way to get these onto the nexus 5, Dropbox or is there a better option that i can use to download them? I already use gmail and google calendars so I am pretty set for that. Is there anything else that i have missed? I am sure that there are plenty of people here who have switched from the iphone, so please share how you made the switch! Oh and I really dislike google hangouts - what is a better app for sending text messages/MMS? Thanks for your help!
