Adobe Flash player officially dead, here is how to get it and install it
Wednesday 15th of August 2012
Well, the time has finally come for Adobe to put Flash Player for Android 6 feet under. It has been technically dead for some time with Adobe stating they won't support anything after ICS nor update the app any longer. Now they have taken that one step further and are pulling the app from the Play Store permanently. While I can understand the reasoning, there are still to many reasons not to do it. Like the fact that Manufacturers are still producing devices with older Android versions and many devices don't have updates yet or will never have updates. So the problem is that now, what do those of you do that want or need flash support and can't have it easily. Easy answer... Side load it. Below you will find a link to get the last version of Flash that Adobe released to the Play Store. Download it and install it like any other apk. Download - Adobe Flash PlayerBe sure you have 'Unknown Sources' checked first, just to make life a bit easier. That is under Settings > Applications on Android 2.2 - 3.1... and Settings > Security on Android 4.0+.You can then enable the Flash Player plug-i
Cannot get voice search on my Android 2.3.5 Tablet - Android Development - Android Forum - A Community For Android Users and Enthusiasts
Friday 25th of January 2013
I have a cheap Android 2.3.5 tablet that is the interface of a car stereo I just bought. It runs some kind of slightly customized Android software I guess. My issue is that it does NOT have the microphone for voice input like other Android devices like my phone. I went to a Google website that had "Voice Actions" but when I tried to get it it said not supported on your device even though the website said I need 2.2 Froyo or higher. I have 2.3.5 so I assume it could work. Is there an older version or something out there? I cannot upgrade this OS since this tablet is part of a car stereo and it would likely ruin the connection. Besides this issue I cannot see any difference using this tablet vs. any other decent cheap one.Any ideas how to get voice search loaded? P.S. This is NOT Google Voice but the voice search.
how to get back app previous version
Thursday 10th of May 2012
Hi, I’m new to android and need some help regarding some issues: When updating apps to newer versions, very often I will still prefer the older version. The problem is, how do I go back to the previous version? Can this be done? When deleting apps, I will normally clear data first from “Manage applications”, then select uninstall. I thot this will delete all the app files on my phone? But I can still see the app folder in my file manager. I find this quite tedious, to delete thru Settings and still have to manually delete the folder the app created from file manager. Is there a better way of deleting? Especially when the folders names, thou some are pretty obvious while some can be quite misleading. How do I know for sure that folder is for the app I deleted? I don’t want to end up deleting folders I’m not supposed to. Is there’s any app that can help delete the app together with all the files in 1 shot? Really need some advise here. Pls help. FYI, I’m using SGS2 on Gingerbread 2.3.6, not rooted.
The Big Android Chart™: A Definitive History of Android Version Adoption
Saturday 27th of April 2013
Pop quiz: How long does it take for a new version of Android to be widely adopted? A new version of Android comes out, AOSP updates, OEMs adapt it to a myriad of devices, and carriers test the updates. That process. How long does it take? It's a tough question to answer, mostly because Google doesn't provide data like that. The official site shows a 6 month version history, and that's it. Anyone looking for a decent amount of data is out of luck. There’s no way to view the long journey older Android versions have taken, and no way to see the bigger picture of how the update process eventually works out.Until now. After a good amount of digging and some pointed swear words aimed in the Wayback Machine’s direction, I’ve compiled a complete history of the last two years of Android updates. This isn't just the old Google charts poorly stitched together in Photoshop (that was version one), this is a seriously accurate piece of chart-work made from the actual data used to make the official history graphs. With a little Google Chart API data-extraction magic, you can get num

Tablets have been making quite a buzz lately, especially with manufacturers releasing different types of tablets for different needs and for different people. Android launcher version
Friday 18th of October 2013
Just bought new Asus TF700 as previous TF300 has cracked touch screen. Have started and updated Android version on TF700 so that both units are working on Android 4.2.1. Under settings on the TF300 I have an option titled "launcher" which then gives the option to change the launcher from old version 4.1 launcher to new version 4.2 launcher (see attached photo). This option is not on the settings list on TF700 and the launcher appears to be the older 4.1 version despite upgrading the Android system (photo attached). Can anyone tell me how to get the launcher change option and why this hasn't automatically appeared after the upgrade?
how to get older versions of firefox for android on google play store?
Saturday 30th of November 2013
Hi, I am trying to download and install firefox on my cell phone. I search google play store and it says that this version of firefox is not compatible with your cell phone. I think maybe it's because my cell phone is old. There isn't other version of firefox on google play store. I figure if I can download older version of firefox for this cell phone, that may work. But how do I search for an older version of firefox on google play store? Thanks.

speed up Voice to Text?
Sunday 21st of September 2014
Does anyone have insight as to how to speed up Voice to Text?I have an older Photon (as well as an iPhone) and voice to text works pretty much instantly on these. The newer version of Android make the Voice to Text wait, in case you are going to add another sentence, etc. So it lags for a long time unless you press the done button.Anyone know how to get this to revert to the old behavior of just translating instantly when you pause speaking?Do older Voice to Text versions (apk) work on 4.4.1 or 4.4.4? Thanks.
