Hack FoxFI and PdaNet for FREE WIFI-HOTSPOT
Friday 25th of January 2013
FoxFi is a great app but with the free version of foxfi you get knocked off the internet by the app and told to purchase the full version or restart app.Don't want to pay your service provider or for an app to make your android phone a wifi hotspot? This is how you hack foxfi and avoid getting knocked off the internet. This method was tested on a samsung galaxy prevail (android 2.3.6 gingerbread.ff19) with boost mobile unlimited 2.5gb data(I know I have used more at this point).First download the latest pdanet from the play store. Then download the latest FoxFi and addon.Start PdaNet and select wifi hotspot mode.Activate wifi hotspot.Make sure it starts up properly and whatever device you want to connect connects.Open the task manager and select the active apps tab.Shut down foxfi and pdanet.Your done.I have had it working for the past week and its great. I am not sure how long this will last but I will post something as soon as it happens. Or not considering I am using it now on my laptop to post this.Would like to hear if this method works with other phones and service providers.

Tuesday 24th of December 2013
kay sooo this is my first time posting. Ive been lurking around ever since i had a brand new samsung galaxy prevail. I found this out by this on accident when i was reading up on how to disable data throttling.I have a rooted stock b11 deodexed romnot sure if itll work on anything else.Get root app delete.apk from the store.go to system apps and be sure just to go under junior settings so you will only disable apps not delete themfind com.android.qualcommshould say "unknown,no advice" Disable it!!!!!! Done!!!i was frustrated because i past the 2.5gig limit and i couldnt watch netflix on my tablet using my phone as a hotspot anymore. i tried everything and my dl speed always stayed at .38mbsafter doing this it shot back up to 2.2mbsI hope this helps everybody and i hope this doesnt get me in trouble lolthis method can easily be reversed by going to the disabled app setting and enabling it again.
