How to Improve Android Tablets Battery Life and Speed
Saturday 31st of March 2012
In an era where technology is evolving at a fast paced rate we should have already seen a battery that has an improved life span and that could last for more than one day if we use our devices more often. I’m tired of charging my phone/tablet on a daily basis even if I don’t use it much. I’m going to focus on Android 2.3- Tablets as their battery life is miserable even if you use them or not, compared to the iPad which can stay in idle mode for more than a week and this is achieved through software alone. The battery life on Android 2.3 and earlier Tablets tends to get on the low side because of a bunch of services that are built into the Android OS which run in the background despite the fact that they are not needed. Let me show you how to improve the battery life and the speed of your Android 2.3- Tablet:In order for this to work, you need to root your Tablet and be wary of the word “Tablet” because this method won’t work the same on a Phone or it won’t work at all because the services we mentioned earlier are phone related and could be of great importance and you mig

samsung nexus s - How to monitor signal strength?
Sunday 11th of November 2012
I own a Samsung Nexus S 4G on Sprint, and I am having terrible but intermittent problems with my signal quality on my phone. I have reasonably high certainty that this is a hardware issue (my wife has the same phone on the same plan and her phone usually works where mine does not), but due to the fact that the problem is intermittent I have not been able to duplicate it in the Sprint store. What I am looking for is a way (perhaps an app) that will periodically poll and record the signal strength on my phone, as well as recording when my phone fails to connect on a call (during the periods when my phone is acting up this will sometimes occur 10-15 times in a row). Are there any apps that provide this functionality, or would have anyone have any advice on developing this app on my own (I am a decent programmer, but I have never developed an Android app).

How To Improve Signal Strength...Maybe?
Sunday 16th of May 2010
I found this post on Android forums thought it might be interesting if some of us try it and post our findings. I too was experiencing terrible signal problems. I dropped two calls yesterday and I've NEVER dropped a single call in my 3-4 years with VZW. I looked in my phone status and my signal was a -101 which apparently isn't good. Anyways I found a site that has the newest PRL and another site with how to install. With this new PRL installed, my signal is now -91!!!! First go to this site: HowardForums: Your Mobile Phone Community & Resource - Newest 650XX Hybrid PRL and find the post from 5/10/10 that has two zip files. Download the 65133 zip and unzip it. You'll find an RLA file in there. Copy the RLA to the root of your SD card. Then dial ##778 and send. You'll get a popup to view or edit. Hit edit. A password prompt comes up and your password is 000000 (six zeroes). Then scroll down to PRL and hit update PRL. It'll take a few seconds for the screen to change. When it does select for it to find all files and scroll down to the 65133 file and hit okay. Then you'll be back at
Help. How to improve signal coverage on THREE network
Monday 11th of June 2012
Dear All,I have quite a weak signal / bad coverage at my post code.I read a lot and found one thread on Moneysavingexpert.com which suggest the following solution to improve the signal. It says:Go to the phone dialer and dial *#*#4636#*#* (DO NOT press send or call button) just wait a second and you will get the 'test' menu.In the test menu choose 'Phone Information'scroll down and choose on the first drop down - GSM auto (PRL) (for high speed data) or GSM only (You may get 3g if not use GSM auto (PRL). I have chosen GSM (PRL) setting and it works fine on my HTC desire.Back out to test menu then back into 'Phone information' to see if it sticks (if not try again) then back all the way out. Mine stuck with my chosen "GSM (PRL)" setting on the first attempt itself. You might want to reboot (power on and off for those who arent familiar with reboot terminology), but I found the settings worked straight away and I didnt need to reboot.I don't take any responsibility for step 6 - 6) Try other settings on the dropdown if you are brave as I don't know the consequencies of using set

How to improve indoor signal

I have unlimited data and my office has an incredibly sucky WiFi so my streaming music cuts in and out all day - very frustrating. Also, I don't get any bars at my desk. At other locations in the office I do. Is there a cheap way to put an antenna or some kind of booster at my desk or by the window or something to improve my signal? The music is supposed to help me relax and focus at work, but the buggy WiFi makes days even more frustrating. And the WiFi calling isn't completely reliable either. Ideas?
