How to play Xvid files on TV via Atrix HDMI cable?
Saturday 16th of July 2011
I've recently converted to android phones from an iphone, but so excited figuring out everything my new Atrix can do. Would appreciate any newbie-friendly advice on how to do this!: My objective is to find a way to get torrent videos on my Atrix to play on my TV via the HDMI cable. I figured out how to stream from my computer using VLC player, but then found The HDMI cable only plays video through the motorola HD multimedia app. Some phone apparently have apps that allow mirroring, but as far as I can tell there aren't any yet for the Atrix and I would need the the multimedia dock to do this. I haven't rooted my phone, but I've found some commands that might let me mirror if I do (I've very limited understanding of rooting and might need a day or so to figure it out)But will mirroring this way have good resolution, or will it just look like my phone blown on a tv? Any other suggestions beside rooting to get my videos out of my phone? Thanks for the help!

what device are you using to connect your GS4 to your TV?
Sunday 07th of July 2013
What device are you using to connect to a tv?ie: hdmi cable, xbox, ps3, dlna, MHL adapters, blueray player, smart tv???I want to connect wirelessly to my HDTV, but I do not want to be tied down by an HDMI cable.I can of course send most videos and pictures through my Xbox-360 while connected to my home WIFI network,But... that is pretty minimalistic in its features...I am interested in the Samsung Hub device ( $89.99 @ Best Buy this week )but I am wondering if there is a cheaper solution to wirelessly "Mirror" my entire phone to my tv.What have you tried, and what type of investment was it? how easy was it to use, and was it quick and easy to set up and use each time?Online, I have seen many wireless HDMI dongles that charge via USB, and just plug into your tv's HDMI port, and they all claim to be android compatible, but there is very little detail on what they actually do, and what models they actually work with...???What do you think?

Hello. I have an LG smart tv. I mirror my work phone (Samsung Galaxy S4 mini) just fine with a hit of a button in the phone settings. I noticed that my M8 doesn't have the screen mirroring option. Any ideas how to screen mirror? Thanks Posted via Android Central App
Roku Screen Mirroring beta launched for Android devices
Roku has started a beta of a new feature for its Roku 3 TV set top box and its Roku HDMI Streaming Stick that will allow them to mirror screens from Android devices to big screen televisions. In a blog post, Roku states: Screen mirroring is one of the simplest ways to share any type of content with those around you, and you won't need additional apps or software. All you'll need is a compatible device with mirroring capabilities. Once you turn on mirroring for your phone, tablet or laptop, you can pair with your compatible Roku player and whatever you see on your mobile device is exactly what will be displayed on your TV.Roku has step-by-step instructions on how to launch the screen mirroring beta for Android devices. The beta begins its roll out today and should be available for all Roku customers in the next few weeks. If you own a Roku 3 or a Roku Streaming Stick, how do you feel about this new feature being added to those devices?Source: Roku
Tab S as two my or other WiFi "SERVER"
Monday 20th of October 2014
The subject was supposed to say TWONKY DRIVE Okay while I can "screen mirror" the tab to my Samsung TV, how about gaining access to the tab contents from my TV? When I look at Sources on my Samsung TV I can see my blackberry z10 phone and a hard drive plugged into my router. Why not the tab s? That way the tab could just be sitting there and I could see and play video from it. Is there an app I missed or some other way to do that ? Posted via the Android Central App
