How to Move Apps to the SD Card on Android Froyo the Easy Way with SDMove
Thursday 05th of August 2010
If you finally have gotten your much-awaited OTA Froyo update, after obsessively having pressed the “Check now” button for a couple of hours (at least that’s what I did), there are a couple of things to keep in mind before you start using the new Move to SD feature. We recently did a tutorial on how to make Android install apps to the memory card by default, and we also discussed that some apps shouldn’t be installed to the external storage. Because when you mount your phone as a disk drive, the Android system will no longer have access to software installed on the memory card.If you have apps on the SD card that are loaded automatically when you start your phone, they will also be launched later than applications located on the internal storage, since it will take a while for the card to be ready: ever noticed that “Preparing SD card” message in the notification bar? One would think that Android should make sure that the SD is available before giving you access to the UI, like most other mobile platforms, but that’s not how it’s currently done. This is esp
Can/How To Move Apps To External SD Card
Monday 04th of March 2013
I put a 32gb micro sd card in my gs3 so I could store my tunes & pics to save space on the internal storage, however I noticed when downloading some apps it'd say can be moved to external storage. I haven't figured out how to do this yet but trust me I've tried to figure it out, I am starting to think you can't either that or I'm just stressed about it and missing the obvious. So just wondering if you can do this or not, if so what app do I need or how do I do it. I've got tons of space still on my internal storage but figured I'd use the external if possible since it's there! Thanks

How do I move apps to external sd card (ext sd) non-rooted tablet
Wednesday 26th of September 2012
I have a Coby Kyros 7042 that is not rooted. It has 2gigs of internal memory along with a 2gig INTERNAL SD card. 4gigs of internal memory is pathetic. I have only 2 apps on the internal SD card b/c it is so full of data I cannot even access. I have a 32gig external memory card mounted and I haven't been able to figure out how to move my apps there. When I click "MOVE TO SD CARD" in app manager, the tablet just moves the app from the intenal memory to the internal SD card. HOW DO I MOVE IT TO EXTERNAL SD CARD? do i use android adb or just an app? btw, sorry for the noob question! thanks in advance
Cannot move apps to external SD card
Saturday 21st of April 2012
My rooted Samsung Exhibit II 4G won't allow me to move its applications, like games, over to my external SD card, even when I use programs such as App 2 SD. The Exhibit II also has an internal SD card that it calls usb storage, and when I try to move apps onto my empty 32GB external SD card it puts them on the internal SD card instead. This is rather frustrating. How can I fix this?

ZTE Supreme - how to move music to external sd card?
Friday 03rd of January 2014
Hi there! My daughter is getting error messages on her ZTE Supreme phone that she doesn't have enough memory. She has a 32GB external sd card in there, but it seems that the phone keeps putting everything on the internal sd. I did manage to move a couple of apps over, but she still has about 29GB available, and yet is still getting error messages and can't download any new music. I have tried and tried to figure out how to move her music to the external sd card, but haven't had much luck other than finding info about getting a file manager app. I did get the x-plore file manager app, but I can't even figure out how to use it. I'm not interested in rooting her phone because I don't know enough about how it works and I'm afraid I would really mess things up if I did that.
My external SD card appears to be "Part of the system device" and ROM storage is full
Wednesday 29th of January 2014
I am not sure if it is normal for the external SD to not appear as it's own drive but I can only access it by going to the storage folder. This however, is not the issue. The issue is that somehow my ROM partition is full, (I have no idea how this is happening, all bloatware is removed and not a lot of apps installed) and despite having the built in SD space and my 16gb external there is NO option to move any apps to any other sd card / partition. App2sd tells me that my SD card is part of system so it cannot move apps. I'm not sure how this happened. I'm running a T999L on the Stock ROM + Root (odexed with the wifi channel switcher). Any help would be appreciated. I tried changing ownership via root explorer around to see if it makes a difference but nothing seems to work. I'm getting a little frustrated here, I downgraded from 4.3 so I could root, and all I have really achieved is a 2,000 point drop in Antutu after removing all the bloatware even though I have an extra 600mb of ram available at all times. No other ROM works, even the ones certified for T999L. (Any Cyanogen based ro
