google play store - How to download apps without a wireless data plan
Sunday 04th of December 2011
I bought an i7500, no data plan. I had assumed that connecting to my router would allow me to download apps from the marketplace; apparently not. I get a message about not being able to connect via the SIM data plan.Is there a way for me to download and install apps without actually getting a data plan?

How to buy apps without a phone...
Monday 26th of December 2011
HII am another first time Android user with a Zen Touch 2.Does anyone know how to get apps like Firefox, Documents to go, PowerAMP etc etc when the Zen Touch 2 isn't a phone. That is, I only have wifi which makes it is a problem getting access to the sites like Amazon, D3 etc app stores. I need to be able to purchase the app via the computer/internet and then load it to the Touch 2.When it comes to the Android revolution I am enthusiastic, the ability to build a software (app) configuration in a portable device is way way overdue. For a long time I have been annoyed by the fact that if I wanted to buy something with above average hardware specs I would be lumbered with a lot of soft/firmware I don't want and/or cant use while not getting all the stuff I desire. So now I have taken a tentative step with a Zen Touch 2 and get to try out the whole Android/apps phenomena. Lets see what happens BBuuutt how to get the apps....Got any suggestions? Thanks. Fred.
external sd - How to partition SD card in HTC One X?
Monday 06th of August 2012
I was trying to create ext2/ext3/ext4 partitions on the SD card. I tried ClockworkMod recovery and it didn't work. Nothing seems to have happened.I also tried using MiniTool and that also failed. I tried both Disk Utility and GParted in Ubuntu and it still didn't work. For MiniTool, Disk Utility, and GParted, after I finished partitioning the partitions showed up on the computer OK, but when USB's disconnected the One X says that the SD card's corrupted.Has anybody done this? Or is there some other way to solve this?Or maybe it's not possible because the SD card is built-in?Thanks! After some more playing around, it seems that the problem might be something related to a partition table. When there's no partition table, it works fine, but after I add a partition table it seems that the phone can't recognize the SD card anymore.
How to delete contacts without a phone number?
Wednesday 29th of June 2011
Hey guys,Recently bought the Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android 2.3.3. Really liking it so far - however I just sent a text message (or so I thought) to 10 contacts from my contacts list. After I sent the message I went and checked over it and realised that it has been sent as an MMS. Strange. Well it turns out one of the contacts only had an email address and the message application had used this by default! Annoying! I get free SMS to all numbers in Australia but NOT free MMS, so I'm now paying for 10 MMS messages I just sent to people because ONE was an email :/How can I prevent this? I've tried another messaging application, I used Handcent SMS and it crashes when I try to enter contacts.I do not want to delete my Facebook contacts - I would simply prefer to be notified that I am sending something to an email address (thought that would have been standard). However if I must delete some Facebook contacts, how can I delete ONLY the ones without a phone number? In other words, can I cut my contacts back to just those who have a phone number?Cheers (and sorry for the long question),Jack.

How to partition SD without a card reader
Friday 31st of January 2014
I am running Cyanogenmod 11 and wiped the external storage because I want to create an sd-ext partition so I can move apps to the SD with Titanium Backup. However, when I go into TWRP recovery mode, no option for "partition SD card" shows up under the Advanced menu. Can I create that partition with ROM Manager and any other app? Or from my computer but without a card reader??Thank you!!
