Ok I am new to the HTC Vivid and android but have plenty of computer experience. I searched but could not find an answer to a question of How to tell if my phone is unlocked for any carrier WITHOUT using another carrier sim card to test with? Is there a cryptic message or number in one of the boot screens that will tell me, or am I going to have to find another carrier sim other then mine to test with?

How to connect the nexus 7 to a cellphone...newbie
Thursday 13th of December 2012
Hi,So, I've been looking online for a way to use my very old Nokia 2730 classic to give my nexus 7 internet on the go and that lead me to this forum where Michal Kali Kaliniaczek says that he's managed to do it here http://forums.androidcentral.com/goo...usb-print.html I'm wondering if someone can explain how I can do this? I can't upgrade my nexus or my phone at this point, but the phone has 3g and a micro usb slot even though its not a smart/android phone. A step by step for someone who sucks at technology would be much appreciated!! Figured it out...you have to put bluetooth on for both devices, pair them by following the prompts on both devices (they'll both ask for a pin), and then on the nexus go into the cellphones settings an enable internet use. It works but its super slow, so a portable wifi device is probably the best solution.

How to prepare the Nexus 7 for flashing custom ROMs
Monday 22nd of October 2012
We see a lot of toolkits that perform a variety of functions with just a click of a button. There are rooting toolkits that allow you to easily root your Android device. You can also unlock the bootloader or even flash a custom recovery with these toolkits create by Android enthusiasts. I came across a new and unique toolkit that allows you to instantly prepare your Google Nexus 7 for flashing a custom ROM.XDA Developers member jamesst20 created the JROMFlasher toolkit for the Nexus 7. This toolkit will easily wipe the data on your tablet, flash custom recovery, and even places the developer’s custom ROM right on your tablet’s SD card so you can instantly install the developer’s ROM to your Nexus 7 if you want to. However, you will need to manually boot to recovery and install the ROM to your tablet. This toolkit also works on Windows, Mac, and has been tested out on Linux Mint 13 and Ubuntu. This guide shows you how to prepare the Nexus 7 for flashing custom ROMs.WarningThe instructions in this guide are intended for use with the Asus Nexus 7. Here’s How to Root the Nexus 7 – But Should You?
Sunday 12th of August 2012
I waited several weeks for your brand new Nexus 7. I opened the box with lingering anticipation, powered it on (without charging it first, even though I know better), salivated as I saw the new home screen, and started downloading app after app hoping to find a barrier that this little beast couldn’t surmount. I found nothing. I found absolutely nothing this quad-core $200 steal couldn’t lay to waste. Satisfied? I should be. Am I? No. I’m an Android lover, and Android lovers aren’t so easy to please…What Tweaking Can Lead To…The N…Continue Reading HereHere’s How to Root the Nexus 7 – But Should You?Matthew Pedigo – android.appstorm

How To Separate A Nexus 7 2012 Working LCD From A Cracked And Broken Touchscreen
Wednesday 25th of February 2015
After a number of recent questions from Subscribers to my fixed1t Nexus 7 Youtube Playlist asking how I separate a Working LCD on a Nexus 7 2012 from its smashed glued on Touchscreen, I decided to spill the beans. If you have a Nexus 7 with a cracked screen and want to buy a replacement Touchscreen and use your existing working LCD, rather than pay £39+ shipping or $60+ for the LCD Touchscreen unit, then here is how I do it every few days. The answer is in two parts and consists of 2 x videos, to make things simple the videos have links embedded in them to link to their opposite number. As I don't have enough credentials to post links here, then the videos can be found by typing fixed1t in YouTube and looking for my latest videos. I have now started putting links in videos to other associated videos in a series so once you find one the rest should re-appear. Video 1: How To Separate A Nexus 7 Working LCD From Broken Touchscreen Part 1 Explains what equipment I use and the set up I use to undertake the separation.
