Consumer Reports Declares Galaxy S4 to be Best Phone in the World
Monday 20th of May 2013
Many people around the world rely on consumer reports for their comprehensive reviews of all different types of electronics. Today they updated their smartphone rankings and put the Galaxy S4 atop the list, beating out the previous title holding Optimus G. This is obviously great news for Samsung, because when a company with 76 of reputation declares your product the best, people will listen.Consumer reports loved the beautiful 5 inch, 1080p display. They particularly loved that it was sensitive enough to register commands even through gloves, a feature every smartphone sold in Michigan (a few others phones already do) should include.Consumer Reports enjoyed many of the features Samsung added to their OS with Touchwiz. They liked the various gestures and sensors implemented by Samsung saying they were useful for, “accessing and sharing content you create and capture on your phone.” In addition the IR blaster was a favorite new tool, perfect for “couch potatoes.”The supposed “S-Lag” reported my many didn’t appear to bother reviewers at Con
What Do You Get When You Combine All The Best Smartphones In The World?
Friday 05th of July 2013
Did the title pique your interest? Well, gadget site T3 has gone the extra step and made a concept of what a device would look like if you combined the best features from all the best phones on the market. Obviously, it would be the ultimate smartphone, right?Incorporating features like the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 from the Samsung Galaxy S4 and BoomSound speakers from the HTC One, the “Ultimate Smartphone” is a dream, one I think we all wish existed right now. It kind of mostly looks like a HTC One crossed with an iPhone 5, and in my wildest dreams, I’m hoping the Nexus 5 looks a bit like that. In reality, it would be impossible to get all the manufacturers to pitch in features like that, let alone get the rights to do so, and top commenter on the video, Kartik Pradeepan, rightly says (if as a joke) that “if you were (to) combine the best parts of every smartphone, you’d get 50 lawsuits after you”. Also, I think 50 may be pretty conservative…Ignoring the fact that this phone or a phone of similar technological prowess won’t exist for a
The best alarm sound in the world
Sunday 11th of August 2013
This came from one of LG's original Android phones (I forget which one exactly). I've been using it every morning for a couple years, and have realized it is the best alarm in the world. On a good morning, it's cheerful and makes me smile while I reach over to shut things down. On a bad (and very possibly hungover) morning, it makes me want to kick things and I can't get up fast enough to shut it off. Either way gets me out of bed— and that's what it was designed to do. The best camera in the world...
Sunday 15th of September 2013
The best camera in the world is the one you have with you when you need a camera. This evening, that was my cell phone. This was taken and post-processed on my LTEvo. I'm calling it "Going Places" because that describes it for me. 1379217637167.jpgHow about it? Got a photo you took, just for the moment, just for you, that speaks to you? Let's see!
How to take the best phone in the world and turn it into crap
Friday 25th of July 2014
I am glad to see that there was some testing on this update and it appears it is working out for some users but I am a very unhappy consumer now since my Note 2 tricked me into clicking the upgrade install by registering my tap on a window that was delayed in displaying. Seriously I tapped on an icon I could clearly see for an app I intended to use and it used it as my consent to proceed with the install. The popup barely flashed on the screen several seconds after my tap. Guess who is pretty disappointed. I really do not care if my buttons are now a different color or some other useless tweak. But i do care that my awesome phone that i loved full heartedly for 2 years since i got it has an update I did not consent to that made me really freakin HATE this thing. Everything about it sucks now where it used to be awesome. 1. 4.4.2 has some nuke in it that searches for and destroys Flash Player. Hey HTML5 is not taking over for Flash like someone lied about. What gives with taking away my ability to view media content on my phone. 2. Why does the update have to reconfigure my alert so
