Thursday 01st of November 2012
If you are like me you have been searching for a way to root the Huawei Ascend ii for Tracfone / Straight Talk networks. Well my friends, wait no longer, thanks to the genius of giantpune. His exploit also works on the M865c.Here is the link to his original thread.Note: While this method should not cause any damage to your phone, I cannot be held responsible for any damages incurred. By rooting your phone you are taking full responsibility for any changes you make.Step 1:Download the Poot.apk and place it somewhere on you phone, internal storage or sd card, either will work.Download Poot-debug.apk from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way(This is the One Touch 910 /ARM5 link on giantpune's thread)Step 2:Download the ministro-ii.apk and place it somewhere on your phone.http://androidforums.com/attachments/elite-all-things-root/38892d1346912490-optimus-elite-root-apk-ministro-ii.apk(Again, this is a link from giantpune's thread.)Step 3:Install both the Poot.apk and ministro-ii.apk. Android newbie - which OS best?
Sunday 22nd of December 2013
I'm thinking of purchasing my first android cell phone (a cheapie Tracfone LG Optimus Dynamic cuz I'm a grandma that doesn't need a fancy go-getter smartphone yet) and after reading all the ratings on several sites, I'm wondering if it's the best choice to learn Android on. The other choices are badly rated [ZTE Valet, Huawei Glory and Samsung Galaxy Centura] even though they have later Android OSs. OR, should I wait until I can have the latest & greatest Android version (Tracfone's highest right now is 4.1)Thank you for your very helpful answers for this Noob!Grandma Donna

Music doesn't resume after sleep.
Tuesday 18th of March 2014
I have an Huawei Glory (H868C) Tracfone and it is connected to my Kenwood KDC-X997 car stereo through Bluetooth. It seems to be treating my Car Stereo as a headphone device and I have to play my music manually from my Tracfone. My problem is my Tracfone stays in my car and when I start it up, after waiting for BT sync, it wakes the Tracfone, but the music is on pause. Is there a way to make the, Play Music, player to auto resume playing songs on wake? If not, is there a good music player app that will do thins? Or is it a setting in the Android OS somewhere? Also, I notice this app doesn't play songs continuously and pauses between all songs, even sons that never had them. I listen to a lot of Pink Floyd and most albums play like one long song with special effects as breaks, instead of silence. I have Android 4.0.4 if that helps any.
What TracFone Android Phone should I get?
Wednesday 07th of May 2014
I'm looking at what android phone I should get to use with TracFone. I do like the features that the ZTE Valet has but I see several reviews talk about it having wifi problems so I was thinking about getting the Huawei Glorying or the LG Optimus Dynamic II. What do you guys think I should get, I'm going to have some apps and games on it. or since TracFone lets you transfer a android phone to them, do you guys recommend another android phone that I can use on TracFone.
Boot sound will not play on Ascend Plus/M881
Monday 23rd of June 2014
I'm having some difficulty getting a boot sound to play on a rooted Huawei Ascend Plus (M881) that has been flashed to Page Plus from Tracfone. A bootSound.ogg file exists in the /system/media/audio/animationsounds/ directory, but it doesn't play during startup. (It isn't a "silent" file, either...it's a 3 second chime.) I have tried replacing it with one of my own, with no luck.I have successfully changed the startup and shutdown animations, which are in a completely different directory (/cust/tracfone/us/media) that does not contain any audio files. I copied the .ogg file in there just in case, also with no luck.Any thoughts? Are there any "properties" I can change anywhere that would enable the boot sound if it is disabled somehow? Thanks!
I have a Huawei Glory. Is there anyway to root this phone?
