ZTE Valet: Can You Post the Pictures and Videos It Takes?
Tuesday 15th of October 2013
I simply cannot afford the monthly contract fees associated with having an iPhone or first-rate Android phone. The ZTE Valet Android phone came out in the last month or two solely for Tracfone, a pay-as-you-go phone company. I am already a Tracfone customer and it sounds like the perfect upgrade for me. I just want to know whether Social Media apps like GifBoom, Vine, Instagram, Foursquare, Twitter and Facebook will really, truly work on this phone and the 3G Verizon network that Tracfone uses. I understand that they may crash sometimes, may be a little slow and that I may be able to have only one app open at a time. I just want to know whether I will be able to post the pictures and videos I take with its camera. Does anyone have any comments or advice for me? Sent from my Nexus 7 using AC Forums mobile app.
ZTE Valet - Android Phones - Android Forum - A Community For Android Users and Enthusiasts
Hi,Since I'm new to Androids or any kind of smart phone, I'm not sure whether my questions are 1) specific to the ZTE Valet TracFone and 2) stupid. But I'm a big believer in asking stupid questions, so here goes:1. Any idea how to get my Google calendar to load? Should I buy the Google Calendar App on Play Store?2. I'm confused about when my phone is using data and when it isn't. For example, if I open my Google Calendar (once I figure out how to do that), it must use data to open the calendar. Does it, like, use data once to open the calendar, once again to synch it, once again to view an appointment, once again tocreate a new appointment?3. This is specific to the phone, but it doesn't seem to have a Prepaid menu, so I can't check my minutes and data usage without going to the Tracfone website and asking Tracfone to tell me what my usage is. I want to get an idea for how much data I use doing this or that on the phone.Okay, Those are my questions - thanks for any input!
software to download thru Macintosh to android phone
Friday 01st of November 2013
I have a ZTE 'Valet' phone (model Z665C) running Android v. 4.1.1. My carrier is Tracfone, which means I purchase time cards which give me units for voice, text, and data (1 unit of data = 1 MB data). I am supposed to be able to download apps and other data from the web for free (i.e., using none of my data units) by connecting the phone to my Mac (OS 10.6.8.) via USB port. This method of downloading does work (using Android File Transfer (v. 1.0)) but it consumes my data units just as if I were bring the data in through my phone's browser. It shouldn't, says Tracfone, but it does. Tracfone says it is a glitch arising because I am using a Mac with Android, that if I just go to a Wi-Fi spot, I can download for free. But downloads are s-l-o-w often times and I can't get trapped in Wi-Fi waiting for the download to complete. It is much easier to just connect to my Mac and let the phone sit overnight. Does anyone know of software that will allow apps and other data to flow from the web through my Mac and into my phone, just as Android File Transfer allows, but without using my data units
Tracfone Android Phones

Tracfone the pay-as-you-go cell phone company now gives us pay-as-you-go Android phones with it's introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Centura and the ZTE Valet a few months ago. You can check YouTube for a comparison of the pros and cons of these two phones. I am pleased with my purchase of the ZTE Valet which runs Android 4.1.1. The Samsung Galaxy Centura runs Android 4.0. I am wondering whether Tracfone will be putting out system updates for these phones. My guess is that these phones won't be updated at all. As I look through the forums here, it seems that system updates come from the cell phone carriers like Sprint, Verizon, etc. If Tracfone followed suit, it probably wouldn't have lead off with the Valet running Android Jellybean while the Galaxy Centura runs only Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Does anyone have any ideas or information? Sent from my Nexus 7 using AC Forums mobile app
Android newbie - which OS best?
Saturday 21st of December 2013
I'm thinking of purchasing my first android cell phone (a cheapie Tracfone LG Optimus Dynamic cuz I'm a grandma that doesn't need a fancy go-getter smartphone yet) and after reading all the ratings on several sites, I'm wondering if it's the best choice to learn Android on. The other choices are badly rated [ZTE Valet, Huawei Glory and Samsung Galaxy Centura] even though they have later Android OSs. OR, should I wait until I can have the latest & greatest Android version (Tracfone's highest right now is 4.1)Thank you for your very helpful answers for this Noob!Grandma Donna
ZTE Valet Unable to move pages
Tuesday 31st of December 2013
So I have a ZTE Valet that is running Android 4.1 on TracFone. I was moving the order of my home screens to make it easier to access my apps and I noticed that it moved my default homescreen to a different page. I went to change the order of the screens by long pressing the screen which opened up some options. One option was "Screen edit", and when I tapped that, I tried dragging the pages to customize the order of them but they wouldn't move. It would make a noise like it was working, but it wasn't. Does anyone have any solutions on how to fix this?
What TracFone Android Phone should I get?
Tuesday 06th of May 2014
I'm looking at what android phone I should get to use with TracFone. I do like the features that the ZTE Valet has but I see several reviews talk about it having wifi problems so I was thinking about getting the Huawei Glorying or the LG Optimus Dynamic II. What do you guys think I should get, I'm going to have some apps and games on it. or since TracFone lets you transfer a android phone to them, do you guys recommend another android phone that I can use on TracFone.

Piece, and greetings from Vulcan!Haha. Actually, I'm in Ohio. I have a ZTE Valet Tracfone from BestBuy with triple minutes I bought it mostly to take on trips out-of-town. I kinda like it so far, except when I accidentally touch the screen and go to the Home screen...This is not my first Android device. I had had a few tablets, so I pretty much know about all that Android stuff. I even use the WiFi tablet for almost all of the SMS messages.I will probably be asking a few questions about certain things regarding my ZTE valet.
