Is there a way to download apps straight to SD card?
Thursday 20th of September 2012
I've tried to see if this was addressed in any other threads for the Precedent, but I haven't found anything yet.I rooted my phone this morning specifically to get rid of apps like Think Free, Books, and even Youtube (I never use Youtube). I've managed the root (a miracle, really), and installed Titanium Backup (finally) and got all those useless apps deleted. I went ahead and deleted Facebook and tried to reinstall with the idea that I would just move it to my SD card and hopefully free up a good portion of that 20mb. Nope. I can't move it. I can only uninstall. I'd really rather keep using the official FB app instead of another one and I'm afraid this is going to be the case with other apps I deleted that I want to reinstall (Gmail, Google Maps, etc.).So here is my question: Is there a way to download apps like Facebook straight to my SD card? Or alternately, does Titanium (free version) have an option to move apps? Thanks for any help!
Root success on PCD/Alcatel/Virgin Mobile Venture (aka JukeB)
Monday 10th of September 2012
Spent some time with giantpune fixing poot and testing on my Venture. Success!See his post regarding the Optimus Elite:Optimus Elite root with an apkDon't forget to click "Thanks" on his post!Just above the attached files, there is a Sendspace link. That's got the version that will run on the Venture. Or, use this QR code:Once you have the .apk, install it. An easy way is to copy it to the SD card and use a file manager (I like AndroZip because it's small). The QR code probably skips straight to installing it for you, I didn't get to test it.Then find Poot in your apps and run it. It will require you to install Ministro II. Once that's done, it will download additional libraries. Now you're ready to go. Run Poot, tap the button to Poot your phone, install SuperUser, install RootCheck. Then enjoy...install BusyBox, use a file manager to delete/rename that godawful Virgin Mobile boot sound in /system/media/bootsound.wav, whatever you want, you are root. You can delete Ministro and Poot once it's done.AWW YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

I feel kinda stupid creating a user just for such a simple task, but I've tried everything at this point and am lost.So I got one of the white pandigitals at Kohl's, updated the firmware and then put pandigital's android system on it. Bought an 8gb SD card to go in it (On sale at borders for about $20).It's running beautifully, not a hitch. I don't have market, but I don't really need it when I can download free apps off the internets, straight to the device and install them from there. The only app i've had issues with was the Adobe Flash Player, which will not install. Oh, and the on-screen keyboard is infuriating. Now, the issue:I cannot use an image I have downloaded as a background. I can use the pre-set Android ones and LauncherPro's pre-sets, but I cannot find a way to use any other image. Any Ideas?

Straight to SD Card
Tuesday 22nd of October 2013
So I recently rooted my phone using the new one click root method & I also edited my build.prop to enable the Move to SD option. My question is with larger files from the play store is it possible for those apps to download & install straight to SD card instead of straight to the external? If there is a way could someone possibly tell me step by step since I am still fairly new to this whole rooting process.
samsung galaxy xcover 2 apps to sd card
Thursday 28th of November 2013
I bought a samsung galaxy xcover 2 2 weeks ago, and i realized that theres nothing to do to transfer/download straight to sd card. I called to Samsung support in finland and they said that i have to format the sd card and after that you can transfer some very few applicatoins to sd card but however i have not managed to transfer even one application. I have tried app2sd and searched around the internet in order to find some way to transfer apps to sd card. I found from youtube some kind of way, but there was like downloading some program to computer and then connecting the sd card and phone separately to computer and then giving some commands to computer and copy and cut and clicking thousands folders and some more stuff i didnt really understand the whole thing was really complicated. I am starting to be really frustrated for this problem or whatever it is, but i think its just stupid to even put this kind of faulty "function" to any kind of smart phone. In every other way samsung galaxy xcover 2 is very excellent and easy to use, but i think transfering apps to sd is very
Emulated SD Card.

Hello. Im new to the forum and also new to the android and smartphone world. A couple of days ago I bought my first smartphone, yes shocking. I bought an LG Optimus F6 from metro pcs. Everything seemed to work fine until I notice every app I downloaded took space from internal memory so, I downloaded a app 2 SD application and it said that SD I had an emulated SD Card which I'm not really sure what it means. My point is I would like to use my 32 Gb external SD or not use but just move my apps to that SD card instead of the emulated SD. I have tried reading and watching videos and the only solution I seem to find is rooting and Im not really comfortable with that since I'm not sure how to do it since also I've only seen it done on videos where people are using pc and not macs which I think completely cancels out the possibilities of rooting for me, I think. Is there a way I can download apps straight to my external SD card without rooting? How can I make my phone read the external SD card and not the emulated partition? Is it possible to do it without rooting?
