Please Help! Bricked my Droid Bionic and I am desperately in need of assistance!
Wednesday 01st of May 2013
Dear Forum- Recently I was forced to update to Jelly bean. I couldn't stand it even in the slightest, due to the changes made to the Voice Search. I successfully rooted my phone, but in my attempts to install a custom Rom onto my droid bionic I managed to brick the phone and I am at my wits end trying to fix it. I live and die by this phone, and if it goes kaput I don't know what I will do. Please help if you know how! Here is what the link to the ROM I tried to install:BLURR3D ROM for Rooted Droid Bionic! [Best ROM] | Droid Bionic RootHere is what I did: I booted into clockwork recovery and performed a factory reset and cleared the dalvik cache. I did not format the drive, and I think this is the reason I have a bricked phone. When I installed the rom it said it had installed successfully, but now when I try to boot up it goes straight from the Motorola logo to a blank screen. I can't get it to do anything. I have RSD Lite installed, and I have attempted to correct my problems with that. Unfortunately, it produces an error that says "FAILED FLASHING PROCESS: 6/21 flash cdt.bin&
Featured: Jelly Bean for the Sprint Galaxy S3 Leaks, and it’s Pre-Rooted
Sunday 30th of September 2012
It’s always exciting when a device starts getting Leaked versions of an upcoming update. Especially when it’s a new version of Android. Lately all we’ve seen are Jelly Bean leaks for the T-Mobile Galaxy S3. But today, something popped up that caught our eye. The Sprint version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 get’s a leak and it’s a pre-rooted Jelly Bean leak. XDA Recognized Developer freeza shared the goods over on XDA’s forums, and they also added a few things to the leaked ROM:Added Jelly Bean boot animationModified kernel to adb shell @ root, bootanimation support, and a few other tweaks.Fixed root. There are odexed and deodexed versions of this leak both available at the original thread. So far, according to users, the leak seems very stable. Only a few minor issues have been reported, including some problems with MMS. I’m willing to bet that freeza will have these minor issues fixed soon, as I’m sure he’s working on them.Hopefully we’ll see a Jelly Bean OTA very soon for all the US Samsung Galaxy S3′s, but I’m su
Update Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 with 4.1 Jelly Bean CM10 based ParanoidAndroid Custom ROM
Saturday 03rd of November 2012
The tablet hybrid UI custom ROM firmware can now be installed on the Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 devices, so during the present tutorial we will be checking in how to update your Note with the CM10 based ParanoidAndroid software. This will be the prefect opportunity for those who want to flash the latest Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 OS on their very own Note 10.1, all being possible thanks to those of xda-developers who had developed and tested this version of the ParanoidAndroid custom ROM.As I have already mentioned, the update is being based on the CM10 firmware (the custom version not on the official one), so the latest CM features will be installed on your Galaxy Note 10.1. The ParanoidAndroid ROM is a stable platform that will perfectly suit with your handset. According to our sources there are also few minor bugs into the system; some users had reported problems related with the soft buttons which may not show up on boot, so that you’ll need to go to “Settings -> System -> Navigation Bar” for manually enabling the same. Anyway, if you want to find out more about the present
Jelly Bean boot up problems

Ok everyone, there have been some issues with the Jelly Bean downloads, after a while, they brick themselves. the md5's are correct, it is an issue that just happens without warning, and so far there isnt a method that we can tell has caused this. for those of you who have had this issue in this issue we are talking about: 1.) Boot to google logo: doesnt go past the logo. 2.) Restoring a nandroid:boots to boot animation, and bootloops, no matter how many times you wipe data and cache. 3.) Installing another rom or the same rom: doesnt work, just boots to google logo and will not go past it. so far the only method that seems to be working is restoring the factory image, unfortunately as of right now you will lose all pictures and saved progress on games. you need to make regular backups, and move *ALL* contents of your SD Card to your PC, and once you have successfully restored the 4.0.2 image, you can restore the contents of your sdcard then. from this point you can either reinstall the jellybean rom, or any of the 4.0.4 roms here is the link with an easy to use method, you DO NOT N
No mobile hotspot?
Sunday 09th of December 2012
So after doing an ruu restore on my phone there seems to be a couple of small problems. Well, small depending on your definition. For 1 I seem to have no recovery of any kind which to me now only means that I can never do any updates. But since I'm sure this phone will never be upgraded to jelly bean I'm really too concerned about a couple of tiny updates. There is another issue that is troubling me even more though. My mobile hotspot icon seems to be completely missing from the phones app drawer. I just got a brand new Nexus 7 tablet and I was planning on using that mobile hotspot feature now no matter what I do I can't find it on my phone at all. I'm sure I got the right ruu because everything is the same as before the software version and everything is the same it's got the Virgin Mobile boot screen, but the mobile hotspot is missing. What could be the cause of this, and what can I do about it?Edit: So I just opened holo launcher, looked in my app drawer, and there it is. It's only showing up in the app drawer on 3rd party launchers now, not my stock sense launcher. Wondering what'

reboot phone causes all notifications and ringtones to be set to 'unknown ringtone'
Saturday 05th of October 2013
happens about 60% of the time since the Jelly Bean update (older Ice Cream Sandwich) if I reboot the phone to fix certain problems or power of then on the phone, upon boot up all sounds for all apps set are set to 'unknown ringtone' and a generic sound that is not even in my options as a sound for ringtone or notification tone is used until I go in and reset all sounds for all apps and contacts... I have about 50 ringtones from phonezoo as sounds set and rebooting causes all to be unknown until I go though every app's sounds notification settings and contacts and put them back to where they originally set to be! does this 60% of a reboots since Motorola had the Jelly Bean for the Droid Razr and was NOT a problem on the Ice Cream Sandwich!
major problems with iCraig CLP285
Saturday 02nd of November 2013
I have a 3 month old iCraig CLP285 Netbook with Android 4.1 that I really like.Suddenly, it will not boot up. Finally got it started and there were major changes: all my email was gone as was data stored in Notebook app. My desktop photo was gone, but when I click on the album that contains the photo I want, it sends me back to the app page. Also, all my photos seem to have uploaded into Dropbox as a Camera Upload, even though I did not do it.And, altho WiFi was turned on - it did not show this on the notification area.Later that night when I tried to use my PC, the DSL had to be rebooted. Never had to do THAT in 5 years! After much reading and about 6 attempts to start the unit, I got in and went to System recovery and did a factory reset. Little Andy had a blue gizmo twirling in his stomach, then it said it was going to reboot. After 15 minutes, screen was still scrolling green through Jelly Bean so I hit reset button on bottom of unit. It went into recovery mode again and now shows Andy on his back with a red triangle and exclamation point. This is a Netbook - not a tablet or phone.
Boot up problems with BWC 7in Tablet.
Friday 17th of January 2014
I'm new here so please excuse me if I get things wrong to begin with.I'm am reasonably good with Windows PC's and this is my 1st foray into Android/Linux.I purchased my wife a BWC 7in Tablet from Amazon for Christmas, yes I do know that it's a budget tablet but it seems to work pretty much as it should. She has been really pleased with it although she mostly only uses it for playing games such as available from Playstore and Amazon.I believe it came with Jelly Bean 4.2 pre-installed and since turning it on it has upgraded to 4.2.1. There is only 512mb ram, and a 4Gb hdd but have also added a 32Gb SD card as a supplement. She has now started to have a problem when turning it on. It appears to boot as normal all the way to the usual home screen. Then things seem to go wrong and the tablet will reboot all over again to the home screen from which point it is then fully usable. The tablet does seem more sluggish than when she first started using it but I presume that's because she has installed lots of game apps. Besides the games I have installed Avast Mobile Security and AB-Plus. Avast An
Phone turn on, but doesn't show image [Blackscreen] [+Can receive calls!]
Wednesday 23rd of July 2014
Heyyo friends! Well, i'm working to solve the problems with this phone for a few days now. He was working all right, perfect, when i decided to change my boot animation, using one corrupted. So, when i turn the phone on, it shows ANDROID image, and after, the screen goes black. I can access recovery without problems, but it's the stock recovery, no CWM. So after tons of reinstall roms and data wipes, i noticed something. When i turn the phone on, he goes to the black screen like before, but i tried to call my number, and the phone started vibrating! Also, the virtual keys light up when i press, so i don't think there's something wrong with the screen. Aren't the ROM reinstall supposed to erase the /system data, in this case the corrupted bootanimation.zip, and install another? Something i can do to fix it? Thanks!!! **The phone is an SK504, with android 4.1 jelly bean.
