I copied this from the Optimus M thread, Mods please sticky this so maybe someone can avoid heartache ************************************************** *********Just because an app is listed here does not necessarily mean that it is useless or that you will want to remove it. T-Mobile USA Safe Apps to Remove

Here is a list of apps that come pre-installed that you may not want on your phone. It is safe to disable/freeze/delete these (I prefer disable/freeze unless you are hurting for app space). You can disable them by going to the app drawer > select the menu button > select "Manage apps" > Select "All" > Then you select the app you want to disable and the option to do so should be in the upper fight hand corner. You can also use an app like Titanium Backup or a file explorer that has root access.Bloatware:411 & MoreBonus AppsFriend Stream (widget)Game BaseHighlightHTCDB-**** (languages for keyboard)MobileLife Contacts More for MeMy T-MobileT-Mobile MallT-Mobile Name ID T-Mobile TVTell HTCZinio If you don't use these, they can be considered bloat as well:AmazonE-mail (mail widget)(if you use a different e-mail app)FacebookFlickrGmailGoogle Play MoviesGoogle+LookoutMobile Hotspot SlackerStocks (widget)Trends (widget)Twitter (widget)Visual Voicemail Watch (widget)Where's My Water? There is also a guide on how to Remove Carrier IQ.There are probably others
Brand new MetroPCS Galaxy S3, first things to do
Tuesday 18th of December 2012
This thread is to start us off with some key elements the brand new S3 user can immediately do to their phones to help with bloatware / clutter, and is basically a list of safe apps to remove. I'm new to the MetroPCS scene, and to Samsung phones, so please update me with your findings on what apps are key and what they do.Keeping this in the MetroPCS root forums may not be ok to the mod, but to appease the mod and to help with future MetroPCS S3 users who come on board, I will add that adding root to your phone to enable Titanium backup will help make the process of deleting/freezing your programs easier. Some apps are locked so you must root to completely delete them.To delete/disable applications without an app: go into Settings -> Application Manager -> All, your apps will be listed here. Select an app and uninstall. Careful, only delete apps that are safe! You have some power here to delete very important apps, only delete the ones that are listed as safe to delete/disable. So, here are metroPCS apps you can delete: @metro App Store - has a bunch of metroPCS appsmStudio - b
