Phone is running out of space, but it's not.
Friday 11th of November 2011
Howdy,I don't know what the threshold is but when my phone gets down to like 17 megs free on the internal storage, I get the little icon in the corner telling me I'm low on space. When that happens, I also start getting errors when I try to send a text or open my browser that say "Phone storage is full" or something like that. This then completely prevents me from using the browser or sending a text message. What the heck is up with that? 17 megs is a huge amount of space to be free. Why would that prevent me from using my phone? Is there something I can do to fix that or change when it thinks I'm low? I have to keep uninstalling things just to get my phone to work. This is an Optimus V on 2.2.2
"Low on space" "Text message memory full" Errors
Friday 26th of August 2011
Rooted Optimus SInternal phone storage: 5.16MB AvailableSD card: 25.52GB Available Used Ti Backup to move most user apps to SD card. User apps not on SD card:Astro, GTasks, OnOff WidgetPack, Terminal Emulator Cache cleared on *all* apps -- user and system.Deleted All Threads in Messaging. Google Voice still has all it's messages (507 or so...)System Panel (and System Info widget) reports 216MB Available internal memory.Getting "Low on space" and "Text message memory full" error messages. Not sure why the discrepancy between the system's assertion that there is only 5.16MB internal memory available, and System Panel's 216MB. How do I free up the rest of the internal memory? Can I somehow put a symbolic link in the file system for Google Voice text messages and store them on the SD card? Thanks.Drew
Can't back up via CWM recovery?
Saturday 11th of August 2012
So I'm properly rooted and I have the Verizon specific version of CWM Recovery installed. I was able to use it to flash a .zip with the wifi toggle notification panel widget so I know it works, but I'm unable to use it to make a backup. It errors out each time. Thinking that maybe I was running low on space (I'm not), I tried to mount the external SD card. That fails as well, though I read something about it needs to be in a specific format. Anyway, how are you all making backups? Something I need to modify in CWM Recovery? Another method of backup instead?
Insufficient storage available/ Low on space, nothing seems to work
Tuesday 16th of April 2013
Hey guys, I'm running a rooted LG Optimus L7 with the stock ROM (since there seems to be no support from any major custom ROM for the phone) and for a while now I've been receiving the Low on space / Insufficient storage available errors when downloading apps, I've pretty much tried everything, I wiped the cache and data of the Play Store, Google Play services, Google services framework, uninstalled updates, installed and ran lucky patcher, I even did a hard reset via ROM toolbox, that worked for a while but now they're back! and I have enough free space (around 310MB) in the internal storage (where all the apps are), this is happening almost any day with pretty much all app updates and it's really getting to my nerves... Thanks for all your help!
Rooted Droid always low on space please help

So I constatntly get low on space warnings text memory full errors.I have moved everything possible to the SDCardRunning Froto 2.2Sapphire-0.8.4Build FRF84b No Idea what to do so I ran Disk Usage and see that there is 262 megs of data on the phone! WTF! I have next to nothing installed? I started going directory by directory to see if I could find some file causing all this. Here's where it gets weird...using Astro I went into my sys/devices directory, then as I clicked a directory in there it seemed to go up, not down, but each time I clicked the directory name got bigger and it just keeps repeating! It seems I have several directories repeating them selves here. Anyone seen this? it kind of looks like this: sys/devices/omapdss/display0/driver/display0/driver/display0/driver/display0/driver/display0/driver/display0/driver/display0/driver/ (etc...) I have at least three directories doing this, can I just delete the devices dir? TIA. Chris
Was able to root, but nothing else is working

...I'm really starting to hate this phone (Spring HTC Hero). Everyday it tells me I'm low on space, it can't except incoming messages because of the low space, random application errors because of the low space, etc, etc. I've done everything short of a factory reset to try to free up space but its just not working. My whole reason to root (which I'm obviously new at) is to be able to install some ROM (have no idea which one) that will allow me to install applications to my SD card. If there is a simpler solution, I'm all ears.So far I've been able to root with z4mod. It took several reboots before it actually took affect, but now it is rooted. For the past week and a half I've been trying to figure out how to do a nandroid backup. I've following all the posts and wiki instructions i can find to install the clockworkmod manually or the Amon RA recovery....all of them fail at the "Flash_Image" part saying "flash_image" is not recognized. So then i tried to find RomManager to do it that way. Problem is I have 2.1, can't download RomManager from the market, and when I

Low On Space
Saturday 20th of February 2010
Received a notification today: "Low on space - Phone storage space is getting low."Just received phone yesterday, installed a few apps including RepliGo PDF reader. When I clicked the notification, it brought up the "Manage Applications" screen with RepliGo listed at the top, 234mb! Clicking on the application shows that the app itself is only taking up 2.67 mb, but next to data it shows 232 mb. The "Clear Cache" button is grayed out. I have about 10 large PDF files stored on the SD card, each one is about 80-100 mb in size. I haven't viewed them all yet but have opened a few. Is RepliGo keeping copies of these files cached in the phone's internal memory? If so, why isn't it being cleared? I sent a support email to RepliGo, waiting on a response. Wanted to check here as well to see if anyone's seen an issue like this yet. Because of this issue I'm unable to install any more apps, and I'm starting to get application errors (just got one from the calendar). These are the apps I've installed since purchasing the phone: RepliGo, Dolphin, chompSMS, Astro, The
Low on Space Errors
Monday 12th of September 2011
For the last week or two I have been getting a "Low on Space" alert. I have been uninstalling unnecessary apps, moving whatever I can to the SD card, and clearing my SMS messages and call logs, but I still keep getting the message. Now I cannot even install apps from Google Market due to "insufficient space". However, the phone says internal memory has 20.17 MB of available space, and when I executed the df shell command on my root directory, this was the result:Code:
System memory low Solution
Wednesday 01st of May 2013
My problems were:System memory low errorsInsufficient storage errors with updatesInvalid package errors with updatesAll of the above I presume led to a major phone crash which corrupted my 32gb sd cardI was running most of my apps from SD card, but was still getting the low memory errors. Then my phone crashed, SD card corrupted, couldn't access most of the appsSo, used Recover My Files on PC to recover what I could of the SD card(recovering a 32gb card takes fooking hours!!), then reformatted the card and transferred the recovered data back on to the SD card. That resulted in most, but not all, of my apps and data working again. However, the low memory errors/storage errors/packet errors still persisted. Thanks to a suggestion by Matroid on this thread:Low on Space, "System data" huge!I used Diskusage to examine my datasystem data folder and found a log folder using over 800mb!Using Root Explorer, navigated to the folder, deleted the content, rebooted the phone, and all is now good! At least for the moment anyway!Hope this helps some other people out with similar errors, b
