I am very interested in this droid but am confused about the myriad versions of information that I get from the web. It seems that there are a multitude of models of this tablet? I have seen a number of places offering this tablet with 8gb and no 3g service for under $200. My questions:1. All of the places selling the 16gb version of this tablet are much (more than $100) more expensive than the 8gb. I think they come bundled with other things. Is there a way to upgrade the tablet's memory? I am not really sure if I need more than 8gb but I have found from the past that things like memory size give a digital device a longer useful life.2. Can this base model use a USB 3G dongle to get the service? Would I be better off using a mobile hot spot than to get a usb 3g dongle? 3. This does support flash, doesn't it? The web is a wonderful place but it quickly becomes like a roadside point of interest - quickly littered with all kinds of garbage I wish there was a www mandate to date all articles and posts.

Low budget 3G supported tablet with long battery life
Tuesday 04th of October 2011
Hia,I did post on the "I wanna..." thread but no-one was looking there!I'm just trying to find a robust Android tablet for my Dad, which needs:- Long battery life (long as possible because he'll be using it 'on the move')- Support 3G (he has a USB dongle with his main carrier)- Under $200I'm not bothered about OS versions (should I be?) - it's mainly to be an eReader but with access to Marketplace so that he can play around with some other apps. I'm not overly fussed about Flash either, and there's no need at all for a camera or game support.I'll be setting it up and loading it with eBooks etc before I give it to him, so I don't mind doing a bit of manual upgrading / installing / converting. So I was looking at the eMatic: JR.com: Ematic E-GLIDE Android Mobile Internet Tablet - Strawberry in Portable Tablet PCs which has very mixed reviews on here.Or there's a very cheap one on eBay: 7 " MID VIA 8650 Android 2.2 Tablet PC WiFi Camera Flash 10.1 YouTube Kindle 2GB | eBayoth of them support 3G, but they both seem to have really poor battery lives. So what should I be looki
How do I type without docking station and use 3G dongle?
Friday 18th of May 2012
I just got my first Android (or ANY kind of linux) OS and my first tablet. The thing is that I don't know how can I type emails etc messageswithout docking station, i.e. the keyboard? Most of all, is there a linux driver (OS Icecream Sandwich 4.0) for 3G dongles? (I'm pretty sure it's Huawei) It's my only access to Internet both at home and at work. Does it matter which phone company provides the access or which country the dongle was bought from? I.e. does the mobile phone company's propretiary programming complicate things too much? Also, would there be a suitable Win (XP) emulator that's very simple to use? I like too much World of Goo, Nikakudori and Jewel Quest + 101 card games (patience) etc. Whatever the office Prime has now, the keyboard shows automatically in the word processor, but that's as far as I have got... I have wanted to own a linux machine for a long time and I did expect a bit of a learning curve, not being anyhow technically minded, but I always imagined of having a windows machine until I had learned the ropes, and for my favourite applications I cannot do withou

@ImpossibleDreamerCould you please tell me which tablet you have..? And why did you decide on using T-mobile and not any other network provider..? Was it becasue they offer the best service in your area..? How are the 3G speeds when you are on the move or on the road..? Please do also let me know approximately how much the dongle and the SIM card cost you. I ask all this because I am thinking of getting 3G access for my Zt180 epad. Thanks

Arnova 10D G3 Mobile 3G Setup Troubles
Wednesday 30th of October 2013
Hi Folks,Whilst not unfamiliar with PCs and laptops, running various windows versions, and a laptop using Ubuntu, I am a complete stranger to Android devices. I have recently bought the above tablet, and having overcome several "teething prblems" I'm stuck with the problem of linking to my Orange internet account, via a Huawei E173 wireless dongle. My 3G SIM was delivered with a Huawei E3131, but I couldn't get this to work (it is not on the "supported" list) so I bought an E173, as that is on the list. On plugging in the dongle to the USB port I get a message stating "preparing USB storage". If I reboot, then I briefly get the same message, the indicator on the dongle flashes, but nothing else happens. I had previously set up a 3G network for Orange, but then the message was "unable to connect, please connect via a dongle on the supported list" (or words to that effect). I am now setting up a new 3G network, and recall "Orange Internet" as the name, but what to put as the device number and APN are a mystery to me. I have turned off t

I've a samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition which is Wifi only. Am currently in india and want to connect to internet through a 3g Dongle instead of wifi. Can you let me know the process of connecting ? I thought of connecting using below method, however I dont see mobile network options in settings. ".First connect the dongle to the tablet and wait for it to read the dongle automatically, if not follow step 2 onwards. 2. Now go to Settings in your tablet and select the More option which appears next. 3. Select Mobile Networks -> Acess Point Name[APN]. 4. Then select New APN option. 5. All you have to do now is make the following changes in the bracketed entities [ Name, APN and Dial Number]:- -> Set the network name. Eg:- For Tata photon just write Tata or TP or anything, as you like it. -> Set the APN, search the net for your service provider
