Anybody putting / considering a moto-x on straight talk or similar carrier? Curious about this as I'm thinking about alternatives to Verizon.
Moto X on Straight Talk ATT
Thursday 03rd of October 2013
So I want a moto x but I have straight talk with an att sim. I've read in this thread that you need to root the att version to get it working. Has anyone got the moto x working with straight talk with att? If so what is all involved. I dont really want to root. I see there is a dev edition now but I dont know if thats a guarantee. I don't even see a nano sim on straight talk site and im nervous to cut mine without knowing it would work. I would switch to a tmobile sim but tmobile wont transfer in my area code.

Moto X on Straight Talk
Friday 29th of November 2013
HiMy sister is considering getting a Moto X on Monday during the Cyber Monday sale, and I have a few questions on which one to get. She has a AT&T SIM with LTE through the straight talk $45 a month, and I was wondering if she needed to get the regular AT&T phone off contract, or get the Developer Edition. They both have the necessary bands; however, I have no idea if the AT&T version will work on Straight Talk without any hacks. She really doesn't want the developer edition, as she wants it to be customized, but she would settle for it if she needed to. ThanksChad. Posted from the awesome new Nexus 7
Receiving MMS on Straight Talk
Monday 06th of January 2014
So I've looked around for a solid solution to this problem, but I can't find one that works for me. I have the Moto X on Straight talk. Data, talk, text and even sending MMS works great. I just can't receive picture messages. I've tried the APN Straight Talk suggests along with several on this forum and others. Has anyone with a Moto X found a way to resolve this? Any help would be fantastic. For reference, I've tried: Straight Talktfdata mms3.tracfone.com80310410 I've tried several variations of this as well including APN type: default, supl, mms adding Port:80 Thank you so much for anyone who is willing to try and help! Able to use Unlocked T Mobile Moto X on other networks?
Tuesday 14th of January 2014
I'm seriously considering getting the T Mobile unlocked Moto X and was wondering if anyone can confirm what networks this will work on? I'm currently on Sprint's network, but I'm not planning on staying forever and am tired of my GS4. I've read that the Tmobile Moto X can work on ATT, but I've heard conflicting reports about whether you can use it with Sprint and Straight Talk. Can anyone confirm if the unlocked Tmobile Moto X can be used on Straight Talk, and if you can use it on Sprint? Or vice versa, can the Sprint Moto X be unlocked and used on other networks such as Tmobile or Straight Talk? Thanks for helping me to pick the right version of the X!
Straight Talk now offering Nano SIM for those who bring their own phone
No more scary scissors or expensive cutters required to use a Moto X on Straight TalkPrepaid phone MVNO Straight Talk is opening up its SIM card options today by offering the smallest of the bunch, Nano SIMs, for anyone bringing their own phone to the network. More and more popular devices — such as the Moto X, new Droids and recent iPhones — are taking advantage of the smaller SIM form factor, previously forcing folks to purchase Micro SIMs and cut them down to size manually.Nano SIMs are available online for just $6.99 — the same price as the other SIM sizes — and can be selected whether you're planning on using T-Mobile or AT&T bands on the carrier. Moto X through Straight Talk
Monday 28th of July 2014
Hello, I currently use Straight Talk service. I want to buy the Moto X directly from the Motorola website, and they ask which carrier will I use (AT&t, T-Mobile, or Verizon). In my area, Verizon has the best 4G LTE coverage, but from everything I've read, I won't be able to get 4G through Straight Talk on Verizon because of the CDMA issue. Straight Talk's website does offer a GMS SIM card or a CDMA key for certain phones. Can anyone tell me if I choose the Verizon carrier on the Motorola website, will I be able to get 4G through Straight Talk? I've done a ton of research, but am still confused by conflicting answers. Thanks!

How is Verizon Moto X On Straight Talk / ATT?
Saturday 08th of November 2014
It's someone locally selling a 2nd Gen Moto X for $285...that I'm interested in buying. The imei checks out and the phone has not been reported lost or stolen or blacklisted. However I dont have Verizon. I have Straight Talk / ATT that I want to use instead. Do anyone know if this will be a issue at all? I know I won't get LTE...and that's not a issue with me at all. Just wondering if calls, text and data (hspa) will work?
