Apps not really moving from device to SD card? What's this all about?

Saturday 17th of August 2013 /
Hi all, I've been reading through these forums and other pages on the web about this issue and no one seems to have a definitive answer. Why aren't the apps "really" moving from the phone to SD card when you click the Transfer to SD card button? I'm new to the Android world and came across from the iPhone. Now, i was reluctant to do this as i like the stability of Apple devices. I have several and they have never broke or crashed. Altough i love the S4 and think the phone is amazing, so far in the week i've owned it i discovered first that i couldnt really transfer apps to the SD card and secondly, my last SD card crashed and wiped everything on it, including all my recent photos since i picked the "save to SD card" option to free up space on my device for the apps that i cannot really transfer across. (admittedly it was a cheaper brand SD card so i bought a Samsung 32GB high speed one and so far have had no problems, touch wood) The latest update was supposed to enable users to store apps (that have the developers permission) onto the SD card. This is the only r

Help find videos randomly lost from SD card!!!

Sunday 08th of September 2013 /
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 running 4.1.2 - I have all of my photos and videos set to save to SD card. I recently was moving photo and video files around (a little re-organizing) from within the photo gallery on my phone. I created new folders and moved files from their existing locations to the new folders. Battery went dead after moving the files (another issue entirely!!). When I powered the phone back on I seemed to have lost most of my files!!!! My phone was then saying that the SD card was damaged and could not be read. After much fussing about (and freaking out!!) and transferring the SD card from the phone to the computer and back again I seem to have recovered most of the photos to my computer. However, I am missing quite a few videos that I cannot find. I ran a recovery program that helped with the photos, but still no videos. I cannot find them within the internal data on the phone or on the SD card. Where could the videos have gone?! Would moving the files from within the gallery cause problems with the SD card memory? Why would the phone randomly say that the SD card was

Can't save (or move) apps to SD card

Saturday 22nd of February 2014 /
I just sold my S4 and got a note 3. With the S4 I had no trouble saving (or moving) apps to an sd card. My large games like NFS Most wanted or dead trigger would be mostly held on the sd card. Also my spotify music would save to the sd card. With the note 3 nothing except photos get saved to the sd card. The sd card is working fine, the device just doesn't choose to save to it. Even when I click "move to SD card" it doesn't move. It says it is moved, but it doesn't actually move. The "moved" files do stay on the device and continue to work fine. Aggravating. Some kind of software bug or is there something else I can do?

moving photos to SD card

Wednesday 26th of February 2014 /
So I bought a new SD card and installed it on my Verizon Samsung Note 3. I formatted the micro SD and, when I go to "storage" under "settings" it said that I have a total space of 29.71GB. I went to "apps", "tools", "my files", "images", and selected all my photos. I clicked on the settings menu and then "Move", "SD Memory card", made a file called "photos" and clicked on it then clicked on "Move here" in the top right hand portion of the photos are going over. Can anyone help please?

Photos / Gallery ~ SD Card or Phone saved

Tuesday 11th of November 2014 /
I thought I was safe, but now I realize I might be in a bit of trouble. I was saving my photos to my SD card on my Samsung Galaxy S4. Within my Gallery, I had a number of subfolders. In the past, when I created a subfolder, I copied the photos and transferred them to the new subfolder. Lately, I've just been moving the photos w/o copying them. I assumed I was moving them w/in the SD card into a separate folder. I did a mass move today while on a flight and had some time to kill. Shortly after my flight, I damaged my phone and now a portion of the LCD screen is out (The bottom third where I need to enter my numerical password is green/black). I pulled out my SD card to ensure my photos were safe. The photos on the SD card were the photos NOT saved to subfolders. Are these photos on the phone? I did find several subfolders where I might have made copies of the photos, thus making me realize my possible mistake. Is that what happened or do I need to do a thorough scan of my SD card to find those photos (I didn't see them). If that's the case, I just have to hope to be able to get acces
