Update system if phone is rooted
Tuesday 22nd of November 2011
I bought my HTC Inspire 4G over ebay a few months ago. When I bought the phone I did not know it was rooted. I asked the guy after I found out if he would unroot it, he told me he had already sent the phone. I didnt think anything of it, and figured it would be fine. The root hasnt given me any problems other than, I cannot update the software to the 2.3.3 Gingerbread software. The screen will just go black and wont do anything. One day I let it stay like that way for 4 hours because I thought it was doing something. I Googled how long it should take, it told me 10-15 minutes at the max. It not updating has made it to where I cannot download some apps and it runs slower. I have gone to Google and looked up "HTC Inspire system update" and I clicked on a link that took me to android central .com and I tried to run the RUU. I followed the instructions, but it says it cant update. It wont go threw with the process. So now I am not sure what to do. Can someone PLEASE tell me a sure-fire way to update my phone? It would really be appreciated. Here's my phone info:Android Version:
Google play wont download on certain network....
Monday 16th of April 2012
Hi guys..... First time posting anything so sorry if this is in the wrong place. I've got the galaxy tab 10.1 and recently the android market wont download any apps at all. I am on 3g (mtn network). It just stuck at downloading and eventually it gave an error (495) after 30 minutes. I also noticed it never updated to google play, my market updater seems like its not running. I did everything from factory reset to clearing cache and obviously installed the latest version of google play.Although today when i connected to wifi everything updated and installed correctly. Now i can download any app. The wifi i connect to is the galaxy s i9000 ( mobile access point), so i used that sim card in the tablet ( cell c network). Everything works fine now. I just wondered if this happened to anyone else, and if theres a way to fix this. I need that sim card in my phone, and dont know if buying a new one for the tablet might work. And im just curious wht the cause is. Sorry for the essay. Thanks for the help. Ciao
Phone alarm used to work when phone is off and now it doesnt!!
Sunday 24th of February 2013
Ok so I searched this problem and ppl are saying android alarms dont work while the phone is off, mine did, up until I downloaded this app called "ringpod" its a ringtone/alarm maker, I set one of my mp3s as an alarm and my alarm clock stopped working! It used to turn the phone on but there was no sound for the alarm and now the phone wont even turn itself on when the alarm is supposed to go off, now the alarm only works when the phone is off. I uninstalled that "ringpod" app and it still doesnt work. I dont want to keep the phone on all night though. And no I didnt download any new task managers or anything, I had this app called battery saver but I had that thing before. If anyone knows whats wrong please tell me, its really pissing me off. My phone is U8651 by huawei and its on gingerbread 2.3.1Thanks in advance.
Help! My Android wont sound when texted, or called.
Saturday 28th of April 2012
I've had my phone for about a year now. It's been completely fine until last week. Last week it was freezing a lot, so I decided to delete some apps, and clear the cache on some settings or whatever. Then all my pictures, and music was gone! I freaked out, waited a week, and they all came back. As soon as they did, my notification tone was set as a silly ringtone, and would only stop ringing if I went to type a message back to the person. This got extremely annoying so I turned off my phone hoping it'd go back to normal. Vibrate's on, sound's all the way up, and both my ring tone and notification setting are both set to something. If you try to call me, it says I'm unavailable. When I get a text, it's completely silent. I ran a virus program, came out clean. I cleared my dialer settings. I've tried to download new notification sound apps, it says there isn't enough room. I even cleared my setting's storage. I can't think of anything else to do. I've tried turning it on and off a couple times, as when I usually have a problem, that's the cure. I'm seriously at my wits ends. Could some
Atrix SD card: Reads OK- but no apps writing to it??
Thursday 24th of February 2011
Sorry if this is just stupid me... I'm new to Android, coming from a Blackberry Bold 9700. I have an 8Gb sd installed and can add folders, files, etc via USB while installed in the Atrix. When I unplug and go check "file manager" on the Atrix I can see and browse "SD card". When I go to "Music" on the Atrix I can see and play all the songs I manually added to the SD card.... BUT-- my phone wont write ANYTHING to the SD card! Everything I download, every pic I take, every app's created files ALL go to "Internal Memory"! Am I missing a setting or doing something wrong? How do I make something as simple as photos save to the SD? Go ahead, show me how ignorant I am.
AppBrain shows why Android Market needs better filtering - Page 3
Wednesday 21st of July 2010
The only feature I would love to have is filter by rating, I rarely ever download anything thats below 3 stars so I would love an option that hides everything below three stars or sorts them in descending order (would be a better choice). To all the anti-porn people: in this day and age porn is everywhere and teenagers are going to see, deal with it. Seeing a naked man/woman isnt the end of the world, it wont harm them in anyway, if theyre boys they will find anyway possible to watch porn. Im a 24 year old guy and I remember installing a keylogger on my parents computer when I was about 14 so I could change the parental controls so I could look at porn. In short: if you dont want your kid to see anything you deem "unsightly" dont give your kid access to the internet because no matter what you try to stop it theyll circumvent it, especially dont give them a smart phone.
MY DX IS DYING! cuz of GB of course.
Saturday 23rd of July 2011
Okay, now, i have my unrooted DroidX running a stock, completely android, no hack or leaks, Gingerbread. I AM HAVING ISSUES UP THE BUM. Here is a list, that i will go on for a while for, starting a 5:24:-Whenever in an app or call or anything for a somewhat long amount of time, (3-15 minutes,) the home screen will need to reload itself, as how it does at start up.-My DX restarts itself pretty often now. about 2 or 3 times a day. and its not while using programs and apps all the time, it could be when my phone is in sleep mode. -My camera, and ESPECIALLY video, will record stuff, and then it will say "file is unreadable" or something, recently (after a system reset,) it will play for 3 seconds, and then it will say unreadable. -My wifi? im sitting on the floor, next to my modem. connection cuts out constantly and just wont download efficiently. and we, us DX users, know that our 3G speed and more importantly, reception, is not the greatest. its damn near poo. -My texts; i had to install the Verizon (i like it the most, rather than text free, or text+, yada yada.) text app al

My new S5 mini wont let me download anything?
Thursday 23rd of October 2014
I just opened my new Galaxy S5 mini, and for some reason it wont let me install a single app. I literally just unboxed the thing and added a 16GB micro SD to it. The phone is on factory settings. I went to Google play and tapped to download the twitter app, and it said the app couldnt install due to insufficient space on the device. It said that for every other app I tried to download. Im completely new to android, so can someone tell me why 16GB is apparently not enough to hold a single app?
