mic doesnt work in speakerphone mode
Friday 08th of March 2013
I have seen this problem several times but no solution aside from replacing the phone. Unfortunately for me that is not really an option. It is not under warranty and I do not have the money to buy another phone. Anyway, when I turn on speakerphone it seems that no one can hear me. The mic is not working. I know this is not a mic issue as it works fine during normal calls and using any sound recorders or other voice input apps. I have tried a factory reset and it did not work. I tried to download some speakerphone apps and they did nothing. This really sucks because I was trying to video chat and it forces the phone into speakerphone mode, obviously the other person cannot hear me. I tried to plug in a set of headphones that had a mic on the video chat but it would not work. Still stayed in speakerphone mode. If I had to go without speakerphone calls I could live with it but I would like to be able to use the video chat. I was using the standard "talk" video chat that is already on the phone. Anyone know of any other video chat apps that will allow me to use a plug in mic i
No one can hear me talk...
Tuesday 05th of October 2010
I was on my phone earlier today, having normal conversation. After I was done talking to this particular friend, I called another. I heard them answer and began to talk, but they could not hear me, they just kept saying "hello, hello, you there?" I didn't drop it, it didn't get wet, I literally ended one call and made another and the microphone stopped working. I've only had this phone since July and have not dropped it or had anything happen to it once. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

No one Hears Me
Thursday 19th of June 2014
Hi,Just wondering if anyone has a fix fo my problem...Started last night no-one can hear me, although I can hear them talk. The little speaker hole at the bottom is not blocked, and mute is off, not been dropped/submerged/ in the slightest. My phone is abut 3 or 4 years old and i have owned fron new, it is immaculate... ;0)My phone however just sent an error report to htc because when I tried switching it off to see if that cleared the problem it stated it had recovered from an error.Anyone come across this before and have any fixes? Would appreciate any ideas...Thanks, glennamy

Hi I have been with VM for last 3 to 4 yrs. I have the 300 min talk/unlimited data text. Currently I am using Optimums V for my phone. The mic on it is going out and no one can hear me. I just called VM customer service to find out which phone can I use besides optimums and I won't have to pay 10 bucks extra. Lady on the phone said that there are no other phones now that I can use and not be charged more. Is that correct? Any one know what other phones I can still use and be in my budge.
calls connect but no one can hear me
Saturday 23rd of August 2014
Hello all,I just got the Samsung galaxy S4 a couple weeks ago and I got the straight talk sim card to go with it....everything has been working perfectly fine (internet, texts, mms) but every time I make a phone call I just hear this ding sound, then silence then the call just hangs up. It seems like the phone is connecting because I can call my house phone from my cell and my house phone rings but nothing can be heard (besides the dinging on my cell) I tried the microphone with voice commands and that's working so I know it's not the mic and the earphone is working cause I can hear the dinging when I try to call out. I've already done a factory reset and that didn't solve the problem. Could it be something wrong on straight talks end or do I need a new phone already ?
A voice app that will raise my voice level
Monday 22nd of September 2014
I have a very low and quiet voice. My husband wears hearing aids and most of our friends have some hearing problem. No one can hear me. I am curious if there is an app I can put on my phone that will let me talk through it and raise my voice level?
Spigen case doesn't work- mic holes
Saturday 25th of October 2014
So I bought 4 cases per order, just to see which one I liked best when the phone got here. I sent two back because I liked the neo hybrid the best..and also kept the body glove satin case.Well, I don't talk a lot on my phone..and actually just made my first call today. No one can hear me at all with the case on. I think the microphone holes are off. Gonna try to poke some bigger home in or later tonight. Anyone else have that problem with the case?I have the white Verizon version Posted via the Android Central App
Galaxy S4 - I can't hear anyone and no one can hear me on calls!
Thursday 13th of November 2014
Hello! I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-M919 on ebay.com and I've been having some issues. In order to get my apps to carry over, I rooted my device, got my stuff and then got rid of the root. I am running on android version 4.4.2. My main concern is that when I make calls and receive them, no one can hear me talk and I can't hear anyone else talk. When making a call I also don't hear a dial tone. Yes my volume is all the way up and no I don't have anything muted. I have tried multiple things such as disabling Google Drive (which multiple people said works), playing with connections, and so on. I just got all of my stuff loaded onto the phone and I really don't wish to factory reset. I'm hoping that's not the only option. One thing I've found is that my calling works through Wi-Fi calling. That's great but when I'm not home that's not very helpful. Although it rules out what others have said about cleaning out the microphone. Does anyone have any solutions or advice?Anything would be appreciated!
