Storage space is running out

Thursday 21st of March 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I believe this is a common issue, as I've read every post I can get my hands on, but none of the proposed solutions that I've attempted have resolved my issue. I recently rooted my VZW S3, using CyanogenMod (10.0.0-d2vzw), so I'm at Android 4.1.2. I don't have many apps loaded onto the phone (GMail, Maps, Evernote, Dropbox, Twitter, USAToday) as well as photos saved onto the internal memory. When attempting to download/install app updates, I'd always get hit with the insufficient space available error...so I found a resolution that suggested using Lucky Patcher to fix this. It appeared to work, but today I now get a persistent "Storage space is running out" error, which has rendered any data connection (wifi/4g) useless. Per other recommendations, I tried using 1Tap Cleaner, then Link2SD to move photos to SD, but that even threw an error (pkg: /data/app/com.google.android.gm-2.apk Failue (INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE)) I then tried Send to SD card, and seemed to work at first, but hasn't corrected the issue. When viewing my storage settings, they currently are: Inter

Out of Space, Insufficient Memory Error

Sunday 16th of September 2012 / droidforums.net
So I'm trying to install Titanium Backup and it won't work. I moved all my apps that were checkmarked green to my Phone, cleared cache of apps. Uninstalled like 10 apps, reset phone about 3 times, took of battery and then finally decided to just checkmark the apps green again so they would be moved to my SD Card and make room in the phone memory. Yet I still keep getting the errorApplication Storage I have 834mb used and 3.1GB FreeInternal Storage I have 2.1GB used and 5.9GB FreeRAM, 278MB used and 443MB freeHelp!!

Developer Team Optimus M Discussion - Page 4

ok so the bobzhome build of ics with the anyrom kernel... touchscreen is messed up lol wow. I did see somethings of interest when looking through device logs.. W/ScreenRotationAnimation( 1337): Unable to allocate freeze surfaceW/ScreenRotationAnimation( 1337): android.view.Surface$OutOfResourcesExceptionWhich suggest there might not be enough RAM in the device - "Out of resources" usually means there isn't enough memory.Note also:I/SystemServer( 1337): Input Method ServiceW/InputManagerService( 1337): Couldn't create dir.: /data/system/inputmethodIt seems possible the "input method" referred to is the touchscreen, so that could explain the problems, although I did not find much when googling for that second line. The failure to create a directory could be due to insufficient storage space on the device. But the worst looking errors i have are near the top of the system log:E/AndroidRuntime( 1337): Error reporting WTFE/AndroidRuntime( 1337): java.lang.NullPointerExceptionE/AndroidRuntime( 1337): at com.android.internal.os.RuntimeInit.wtf(RuntimeIni t.java:345)E/And

Sammy Galaxy S3 - Insufficient Internal Memory Error

Friday 18th of January 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have a serious problem with my Samsung Galaxy S3. I can't update some of my existing apps or download new (some) new apps. Plenty of storage available as far as I can tell, but I get an 'Insufficient internal memory' message. I am not exactly a techie but I emptied (app) cache (1 tap cleaner) and uninstalled a few seldomly used apps to free up space. No luck. :-( This is a 2 month old work phone, so rooting is out of the question. That said, frustration is great. This seems to be a wide spread problem across multiple versions of Android OS. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Internal Storage Discrepancy

Monday 28th of January 2013 / droidforums.net
Hi. I've run into a puzzling issue on my Droid Razr M. Out of nowhere, I received an "insufficient storage space" error when attempting to download a new app knowing full well that I had plenty of room available on my internal memory (over 500 MB). I thought maybe it was the app itself so I tried a few more and got the same message. I looked at the storage section of the phone settings and noticed a discrepancy between 2 screens as shown in the attachments. On the main storage screen it shows 685 MB available, and on the app screen it shows 1.2 GB free. Just wondering if anyone has run into this problem before, and if it might have something to do with the reason that I'm getting the "insufficient storage space" error when attempting to download apps.Thanks.

can't get rid of "download failed; insufficient memory" status

Monday 30th of September 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
greetings programs, i've got a droid razr maxx running jb 4.1.2 and i've had an annoying little problem for the last few weeks. at one point i had maxed out the storage space on both the SD card and the ~8gb of internal phone memory, so as i went to make a download i got a little error up top that said the download failed due to insufficient memory. i took care of the problem and completed the download, but ever since then that little !-in-triangle status has been up top on my status bar, always popping up atop the list of alerts that come up when i pull the top menu down. clicking on it sends me to my downloads page, so i've sorted out all of the filenames even remotely similar to that one and deleted them from the downloads page.... nada. i can power off the phone, reboot it.... no matter what that status informing me that the download failed due to insufficient memory won't go away..... so does anyone here have any ideas as to what i can do in order to remedy this? thanks and have a great night # adm jd awesome, XXVII, esq.

Will we ever fix the storage problem?

Saturday 06th of September 2014 / androidforums.com
I've been through all the supposed fixes for the storage shortage problem with this device. There are so many varied ways put forth but in the end none of them actually do what we truly need done. I still cannot avoid getting the error message about insufficient memory to install and or back up certain apps. I can't even move any apps to the sd card using Apps2sd. It has only allowed me to move 2 of my apps over and my sd card has over 14gb of room available, yet every time I attempt to move an app over I get the no storage room to move app. I know that there will always be some who say they don't encounter this problem, but I also know that those of us who cannot find sufficient storage space to move and or install, backup apps are the majority here. I only wish that someone could actually map out exactly how this device utilizes its settings to allow movement of apps and other memory using functions. For me just when it looks like I've gotten a handle on how this phone interprets commands and how it is set up, it will disallow a move that should be allowed. All that is needed is for
