"Not registered on network" + stuck in Factory Mode ON - no solution works - Android Phones - Android Forum - A Community For Android Users and Enthusiasts

Saturday 24th of November 2012 / androidforum.com
Initial state(stock 4.0.4. ROM):Device was working properly; Could call, could use 3G internet;Everything was good. After CWM zip installing FoxHound ROM:Simptoms:Could not call; for every GSM/3G interogation to telecom operator I get: "Not registered on network";In my pursuite to fix this, I don't know how, now my device ended in Factory Mode(a yellow box with some debug information appears on my screen and the power button now instantly shutsdown the device and no lock screen available). The IMEI returned by *#06# is different by the one on the back of the device. It's not a generic one "000...", it almost looks like the original, both seem to be valid after some search, but this is odd. I don't know if it was different before installing FoxHound ... never cared. What I've tried to do:I've actually feasted on half of internet for a solution to my problems;I've tried to flash with Odin tons of stock firmwares, modems, CSCs, including well known ones, my operator ones(Cosmote), my country ones(Romania) -> no luck;I've tried to restore p

Can't root my phone without going into safe mode

Saturday 24th of November 2012 / androidforums.com
After having complications with Basix installed on my phone such as freezing or getting stuck in boot loops and being thrown into a reversible safe mode; I elected to flash to stock for the sake of my phones functionality. I also figured I might as well update my firmware to 2.2.2 and used the tar file I found here in these forums. Since then, the phone had rebooted at one point it decided to go into the safe mode state. No suspicion was aroused at this point because I have managed this in the past with no hassle. It wasn't until multiple attempts of my first well known safe mode remedy: hold "volume up or both volume keys'' and press the power button. After multiple attempts, this did not appear to have any effect. So from that point on I used one of my other resources, using Odin again. I flashed with the old 2.2.1 firmware files and waited for it to "Pass''. With a lingering safe mode box in the bottom left, I was about to give up. Luckily, I had remembered that I saved the dial code for doing a factory format and gratefully entered *2767*3855# with anticipation for the

2.2 stuck in airplane mode

Monday 25th of October 2010 / androidforums.com
After updating to 2.2 on tmobile when it eventually came to us how ever many weeks ago, all seemed fine untill the phone rebooted and turned back on in airplane mode - try as I did, I couldnt turn it off, none off the different ways to do it seemed to work (home screen widget, long hold on on/off button, settings-wireless and networks-airplane mode off)- I eventually, having called t-mobile who where almost as helpfull as a bag of jelly had to factory reset which did seem to sort it out...The reason I am writting now is because after reading the threads about how often people turn their phones off, I did just this. Low and behold the ruddy airplance mode was on when phone turned back on and same again, couldnt turn it off. I turned the phone on and off for about 10 times and eventually it seemed to work although I couldnt tell you why in that particular instance. Now this isnt a major issue as I do actually keep the phone turned on for the most, but I am obviously tyring to foresee possible future problems..ie battery running out, having to reboot because or a dodgy app etc Id like t

Formatted /system and now everything is messed up

Sunday 01st of September 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Okay, so, I'm moderately good with cell phones and rooting and such, but today I completely messed up and I don't know how to get myself out of this hole I dug. I was trying to run a new rom on my Galaxy S3, (MIUI) and I did the regular steps like installing from sd card, erasing cache, factory reset, blah blah, but after It didn't set in the first time, and folders weren't showing up on my pc when I connected the phone to it, I started to panic, I booted into recovery mode, and stupidly formatted system, sd card, and ext sd card, and after that, all chaos broke loose. My phone was then stuck at the Samsung Galaxy S3 logo on boot, so I tried entering recovery mode because I thought I made a backup, but my phone would not boot up into recovery mode. It would only open to Odin mode, so, after a lot of crying, I downloaded stock touchwiz for d2vzw and used odin to use it. Everything was fine and dandy but then my root was gone, so I re-rooted it with a guide on youtube, (used it before and worked like a charm) and the root worked again, like i had expected. Now, I again, messed up and t

stuck on x

Tuesday 18th of February 2014 / androidforums.com
Hey guys, I'm sure this has been covered, but I haven't found a good solution. I have a coworkers nexus 7. She was going to throw it away because it will not boot up, its just stuck on the x animation. I told her that its impossible to 'brick' modern smart phones/tablets due to software, and that I'd take a crack at it. Within the first ten minutes I had it in the boot loader menu, got into the recovery menu, wiped everything, did a factory reset and.... Still no dice. It just sits at the x. There are various toolkits one can use from PC which sound awesome, however step one is always to enable USB debugging on the device. Seeings how I can't turn the device on, I can't enable USB debugging... I've tried and failed to install ota updated via sideload, and suspect the reason I can't get that to work is again because I am unable to enable USB debugging mode. If anyone has any suggestions that would be awesome, I hate to return this in an unworking condition, because I'm sure she is just going to pitch it!

How to unbrick / fix a bricked Tecno phone (stuck at Tecno boot logo / image)

Sunday 27th of July 2014 / androidtablets.net
If you're among those who installed the wrong apps or did something that has caused your Tecno phone to get stuck at the Tecno logo without booting further or in a boot loop, then this guide is for you (For other Android phones, see How to unbrick / fix a bricked Android device).First try a cache wipe and factory reset in recovery mode (switch off the phone > press volume increase button and don't release > press power button and keep holding down both buttons > Don't release till you enter recovery mode which will either show clockworkmod or an Android robot lying on its back) or find out how to boot your phone into recovery mode. If Wiping cache partition and factory reset don't help, then try either of the two methods below: A. Direct Backup & Reset MethodThe easiest method is to:1. Get a phone of the same type that isn't bricked2. Boot the good phone into recovery mode (switch off the phone > press volume increase button and don't release > press power button and keep holding down both buttons > Don't release till you enter recovery mode which will either sh

HTC One (M7) stuck in safe mode.

Friday 22nd of August 2014 / androidforums.com
So, recently water damage has broken the volume down button my HTC One. While this may not seem like a huge problem (I have headphones with in-line volume) this is sort of necessary if one wants to force restart the phone seeing has how on my phone you have to hold the volume down and power buttons to work, and the headphones don't register in this situation.Anyways earlier today for some reason no audio was coming out of my phones speakers, almost as if the phone thought it had headphones plugged in when they weren't. I tried restarting my phone by holding down just the power button until it booted into bootloader. From there i held the power button and volume UP until the phone booted back into the OS. Then it just, without my doing. booted into safe mode. But now it's just stuck on safe mode. I can't undo this. Restarting doesn't work. Standard procedure does not work. Off then on doesn't work. Rebooting just the shell doesn't work. Factory reset did nothing done I'm at a loss. This problem is similar to a thread I found on AndroidForums: HereHTC One Stuck in Safe ModeThat guy gave

L7 stuck at lg logo. [someone bricked it with chainfire :( ]

Saturday 13th of September 2014 / androidforums.com
Ok, so i have here an LG Optimus L70 on MetroPCS that refuses to boot into android because someone I had accidentally tapped the install driver button when browsing through the app (the phone was rooted). I've tried all of the usual methods of trying to pull up any emergency mode, factory reset , or recovery mode to no avail and there is zero information out there on how to fix it. I've tried to get into it with ADB but when it is a boot logo, the device is marked as offline. if anyone knows how to get it running again, do respond. I seriously don't want to shell out more money for a phone again.note: dealer wont take back any phones after 7 days, would either have to get a new phone, or see if they can attempt an unbrick. other option would to send it to LG for service but since its rooted warranty is probably non existant now.

why is my samsung prevail phone stuck in reboot and lock screen is gone?

Thursday 09th of April 2015 / forums.androidcentral.com
Samsung prevail model #sph-m840 3g phone. My husband was sending pictures in email and his phone went into a continuous reboot. When the phone turns back on it goes straight to home screen, a black square w digital yellow print appears and a brief notice phone is in factory mode. I tried to do a hard reset (power/volume button) and the android robot is on his back with his guts open and in red it says efs failed invalid argument.we have never rooted our phones or added any software and he has no apps in his phone. The hard reset didn't work. Could a virus be responsible? I took phone to samsung at bestbuy and he tried unsuccessfully to flash the software from their computer and got the same result. Is this fixable?
