Play Store error: rpc:s-7:AEC-0

Monday 04th of March 2013 / androidforums.com
Hi. I'm new to the forum, so I hope this is the right place to put this thread Anyways, I've been having an issue with the Play Store all day, trying to sort it out to no avail. I'm using an international Galaxy S III i9300.Earlier, I tried to download a paid app, and I couldn't. I got an error saying something about my Visa, which is registered to my account, was invalid. I went to my Google Wallet page on my laptop, and removed my card, then tried to add it again. I couldn't. When I try to add it from my PC, I just get an error saying my card could not be validated. When I try to add it through the Play Store app, I get error rpc:s-7:AEC-0 .Funny thing is, I tried adding my dads Visa on my account. Same error, both on phone and PC. However, when he tried to add his own card to his google account, it worked just fine. That leads me to believe that there is no problem with my card, but with my account somehow (my card has also been used on other online stores and at the local grocery store today, so I know it works.)I've tried a lot of fixes I found online, mostly what pops up is err

Error retrieving info from server: RPC S - 7: AEC - 0

Wednesday 02nd of April 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have tried a few suggestions to fix the above error I get when trying to download from the Google Play Store. 1. I have removed my Google account, then logged in fresh to the Google Play Store adding an existing account and also trying it with a new account. 2. I have also cleared the cache in the Applications Manager. Neither of the above fix the error I get when I try to download from the Google Play Store. I get the same RPC S-7 AEC-0 error everytime. Very frustrating. Does anyone know a solution? With everything I have googled, this appears to be a common error. The solutions I have found on-line don't seem to work for me. Maybe I'm missing an obvious step. Please help.

error retrieving / RPC:S-7:AEC-0 / Solved but very angry

Thursday 28th of August 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I was getting this error while trying to buy an app: error retrieving information from server RPC:S-7:AEC-0So I spent 2 hours going through forums, deleting cache; re-syncing Google accounts, etc, eventually I gave up and reset my phone. After factory reset the problem was still there .. I then stumbled on a forum post saying "maybe your wallet has an expired credit card".So I then had a fight with google admin trying to get access to my wallet, and finally logged in and it treated me like I've never been there before.I added my credit card details and now I can buy apps again .. WTF are you doing google?!! What a wind up .. if the Play Store had have just said "Your CC needs updated" then I would have saved 3 hours of my life, and not be so annoyed with Google's over complicated BS, not happy , not happy at all ... Hope this helps others somehow ... frankly I'm starting to dislike Google ....

Google Play services outage, RPC:S-7:AEC-0 error

Thursday 04th of September 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Putting this here to hopefully save someone else the trouble I went through. Starting yesterday morning (9/3/2014) my Nexus 5 was unable to download any updates or new installs from the Play Store. When I tried I got the error, "...could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-7:AEC-0]). Reboots didn't help, so I looked on the interwebs and found a number of posts that listed some options for fixes. These included clearing cache on the Play Store and Framework, removing the gmail account and re-adding it to the phone, and doing a full factory reset. NONE of these options worked. Yes, I even did a full factory reset/format from recovery mode. Same error, unable to download or install anything. Called Google support this morning and was informed that this is a known issue that started yesterday morning with some accounts. It's on their end, so there's nothing that can be done to fix it from the user side. They're working on it and consider it a major outage, no ETA for a resolution. If you're having this issue, I'd recommend calling Go
