Shake ‘n Rotate: Toggling auto-rotation with just a shake - Android Authority
Tuesday 17th of April 2012
With how smartphones are becoming increasingly sensitive to even the smallest of things nowadays, it doesn’t take a lot of tilting to get the screen to rotate. For users who don’t want to put in a lot of effort to change their screen to rotate, this is a good thing. But, for others who find it extremely annoying to find their screens rotating to a position they don’t need, just because they’re holding their device off center, disabling auto-rotate is a must.Who wants to check his or her phone while they’re lying down, only to find one’s phone screen moving into another position? For the most part, disabling auto-rotate solves our problem, but since we use our phones for a variety of functions, one orientation just won’t do. Taking pictures, for example, can be tiring when you need to breeze through your settings menu just to enable auto-rotation again. It takes extra time that you could be spending snapping shots of the perfect moment.Thankfully, there’s Shake ‘n Rotate. Developed by Andrea Baccega, Shake ‘n Rotate is a hand

4.0 ice cream sandwich - Auto rotation, proximity sensor issues in Xperia Arc S after updating to ICS
Friday 15th of March 2013
My auto-rotation and sensors was working fine in my Xperia Arc S with Gingerbread, but when I updated it to Ice Cream Sandwich via Sony PC Companion, now the auto-rotation and some sensors are not working. I have also checked it by reflashing the other custom ROM, but same problem exists there. I guess its a Sony's built-in bugs, because I have also checked other Xperia Arc S with ICS, same issues exists there. Any help in this regards will be highly appreciated! Please help me how to fix it, or any other alternate to auto-rotation and how to turn off proximity sensor manually.
Problem with LG G2 [Rotation] - Android Phones - Android Forum - A Community For Android Users and Enthusiasts
This is my first post on this forum but mind that, I got the LG G2 in late October and noticed this problem early on but lived with it and now can't deal with it.Overall, it's a nice phone. I like the display, battery length, and other features but it won't rotate right. It DOES rotate sometimes but not when I want it to. I'll be sitting up and set it down and every once in a while it will rotate but I have to click home and restart that app for it to go back. I have auto-rotation on most of the time but tried without it and still nothing. I watched a video and the rotation worked perfectly, but no matter how I try, it just won't work. Is it a faulty device? Will my insurance cover it? It's unusual since I had a Droid RAZR as my last phone and that worked perfectly, this is odd and quite annoying.Appreciate any help!
auto rotation / horizotal calibration
Monday 10th of February 2014
Hello, I have a SGS2 I9100G I installed the ROM superNexus 2.0 (android 4.2.2) I noticed that there is a problem of auto screen rotation. So I flashed the STOCK ROM samsung (4.1.2) with ODIN. But I noticed that the problem persists even with the STOCK ROM (before that I installed supernexus I was on the STOCK ROM and no problem). I run a game (car racing) and the car is always inclined . Brief apparently it is a problem of horizontal calibration but unfortunately this option was removed in jelly bean 4.1.2 can it be reactivated in JB 4.1.2 ?? or can I do the calibration differently? there are those that have had the same problem and did a downgrade to 2.3.6 Jinger bread -> calibrate and then they returned to JB 4.1.2 But I do not know how to downgrade then upgrade. I need your help please. My GS2 is too bad like that
Fix your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 laggy auto-rotation
Sunday 23rd of February 2014
Have you ever waited it for more than 4 seconds (or more) so it can rotate to the way you're holding it?Have you ever put it on the desk and it went landscape by itself?Has it ever got stuck on landscape mode until you restart it?If you had any of these issues with your Note 2 auto-rotation then don't worry, it's not a hardware problem, it's the stock TouchWiz UI. Just install any other launcher (I recommend Go Launcher EX) and the issue will be resolved.Hope that helps.
Auto-Rotation Resets to "on" by itself
Friday 22nd of August 2014
This is the reverse of the "failure to rotate" problem. In Display setting on my Samsung SCH-1200 I usually uncheck the A-R box. Then, sometime in the next day or two rotation starts to happen without anybody touching settings, the box has rechecked itself. Any ideas. (Similar problem with brightness, I like it bright but display resets to auto all by itself. No big deal unless I'm out in the sun and can't see the screen well enough to reset the brightness level.)
