No internet connection only from Twitter, Google Play, Youtube, Google+, GMail

Friday 08th of February 2013 /
I have Motorola Droid 2 and using it only with WiFi connection. Not using Mobile. I got it from USA as a gift in Adobe MAX 2011, and it is working fine until today (in Saudi Arabia). Today, suddenly, I cannot use most application which requires internet connection such as twitter, Google Play ...etc. Only the Browser, Dolphin Browser and Email are working fine. When I try to use Twitter, I get error message something like "cannot retrieve tweets now". Same situation in Youtube, Gmail, Google+ ...and most other apps. Tried to reboot, clear data, clear app cache ... not working... Also tried to remove the app which I updated today, but I cannot remember which apps I updated exactly (I remember I updated 3 apps) .. after that, I noticed this problem, but not 100% sure that this is the cause of this problem. I will try to connect from another WiFi (not my home WiFi) and check the status. Appreciate your help. Tarek.

Wiping a ZTE Valet Android 4.1.1 Phone.

Friday 11th of July 2014 /
I am selling my Tracfone ZTE Valet Android 4.1.1 phone to a friend. I moved up to a Nexus 5 smartphone with T-Mobile. What do I do to remove my data from the phone? I know that I must go to my Tracfone account and declare the phone inactive. But what about my Google account? What about the apps? I use the same Google account on my Nexus 7 2013 Tablet, my Nexus 7 2012 Tablet, my Nexus 5 smartphone as well as the ZTE Valet Android 4.1.1 phone. So I can't just close the account. What do I do? Sent from my Nexus 7 using AC Forums mobile app

Playstore wont downlaod apps.

Sunday 07th of September 2014 /
My Galaxy note 3 will no longer download/update app via Wi-Fi in my home, it will download apps using the phones own connection to my mobile network.I have tried many different fixes for this.Factory rest phoneFactory rest router Clear data and cache from google play store (in application management) Clear data and cache from google play services (in application management) Clear data and cache from google download manager Remove google account from phone Add google account back on phone Created a new google accountAdded port forwarding to my router (5228) for the port google play store use. And all of the above have had no effect. As well as this I have contacted my ISP to check that there was nothing blocking access at there end to the google play store and they confirmed that nothing was blocking access, as well as this I can browse the internet on my phone. Along side this I checked that my Wife's phone a galaxy note 4 mini could access the play store to download/update apps and it can I have now reached the end of the line with what to do to fix this issue.

Unable to remove Voicemail icon in notification bar.

Sunday 26th of April 2015 /
There are no messages in my Virgin Mobile voicemail inbox and have turned off voicemail on my account yet I have a 'new voicemail' icon in the notification bar of my Samsung Galaxy Ace, Gingerbread 2.3.6. I have tried rebooting, removing sim card and battery but the icon returns. Is there any way to clear this without doing a factory reset, which I have just done and reinstalled all my apps of which I have many due to using link2sd to move them to the external sd card.. The phone is rooted. I have read in other forums to clear the cache and data of the voicemail application and stopping and restarting the voicemail app on the phone but can't find that option.
